Tan bags awards in SPM Writeshop

Determined and challenged, Jeffrey Tan collected awards during the School Paper Management Writeshop on December 5-7, 2023 at Lyric Hall, Vigan City.

Tan ranked third place in Column writing and second place in Photojournalism for the individual category(Filipino) during the writeshop moment of the seminar. He also got the first place in Radio scripwriting/broadcasting and Best Feature Page in
Desktop and collaborative publishing for the grouped category.

Different motivational scenario pushed the School paper adviser in Filipino to be able to produce the award-winning crafts. " Inaalat man ako sa buhay pero babangon at magpapatuloy ako sa pagsulat," he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Tan together with his co-advisers are now preparing the young writers of SNHS for the DSPC 2024.

School Pub scouts for stud-writers

To complete the new set of editorial board for this school year, Santiago NHS conducted the School-based Seminar and Workshop in Campus Journalism for Student-writers on October 13, 2023 with the theme: Revitalizing Students' Journalistic Skills through Modern Journalism.

Initiated by Mrs. Emily Vidal, SPA in English, and Mr. Jeffrey Tan, SPA in Filipino, neophytes and old students brought out their writing prowess just to be in the list after being inspired by the words of challenge of Dr. Natividad B. Reyes, School Principal IV, and with the lectures given by the learning service providers -Mr. Joseph Dulatre, Mr. Christian Ea, Mrs. Renelita Ayat, Mrs Chateline Dulay, Mrs. Precilla Polonio, Mrs. Zosima Echanis, Mrs. Hazel Lee, Mrs. Noralyn Ancheta, Mrs. Medina Estioco and Mrs. Daisy Belle Bagorio.

The final list of selected journalists is expected to be released and will be announced on Monday during the flag ceremony. Surely everyone keeps an eye to the new faces of the group.

Students salute teachers

The students headed by SSLG,YES-O and BKD paid tribute to their teachers on October 6, 2023 at Santiago National High School.

Each section performed their own yells to enliven the program. To hype the moment, Rayven Jorge Eligio and Erin Deceree Lavaro, R1AA Dance Sports qualifiers entertained the crowd. The SSLG officers also held parlor games for the students.

Moreover, Dr. Natividad B. Reyes, school principal IV, shared her inspirational message to the teachers and gave them a remembrance .Mr. Joseph U. Dulatre, Head Teacher III, also rendered his message. The officers also offered their token of appreciation to all the teachers.

Before ending the celebration,the SSLG president, Mikaella Joyce Dela Cruz bestowed a gratitude message to all the teachers.

Reyes for being honored as one of the winners in the Gawad Lam-ang, 2023 Regional Search for Outstanding DepEd Personnel School Head Category on October 5, 2023 during the World Teachers' Day Celebration of Ilocos Sur Division at the Candon Sports Arena. Compliments also to our co-teachers who have been in the service for ten years and above namely Mrs. Racquel Bataanon, Teacher III, 35 years; Mrs. Precilla Polonio, Teacher III, 20 years; Mrs. Irene Batin, Teacher III,15 years; Mrs. Mary Ann Cabatic, Teacher III, 10 years; Mrs. Noralyn Ancheta, Teacher III, 10 years; and Mrs. Zosima Echanis, Teacher I, 10 years who were also given distinction during the event.

REYES WELCOMES NEW PARTNERS

September 29,2023- Dr. Natividad B. Reyes,School Principal IV, led the meet and greet program of SNHS faculty and staff for the parents during the First PTA assembly.

"I welcome you all as our new partners for this school year", Dr. Reyes exclaimed. "We look forward to a harmonious working relationship with you."

The said assembly was conducted to orient the parents about the rules and regulations which was discussed by Dr. Reyes. Mrs. Mary Ann Cabatic, Guidance Counselor, also explained the child protection program.The code of discipline was elucidated by Mr. Chester Aquino,SSLG Adviser. Mr. Joseph Dulatre, Head Teacher III, presented the school's accomplishment and awards while Mr. Jean Marie Dulay, Physical Facilities Coordinator, talked about the grading system.

After the orientation, the parents proceeded to their respective classrooms and elected the homeroom PTA officers. Afterwhich was the election of the Federated PTA Officers.

The school envisions a number of projects in partnership with the new set of officers and with the support of the parents and other stakeholders.

“We were born with nothing, and we will die with nothing".-Rev. Fr.Agamata

Rev. Father Ethel Agamata filled the crowd with his inspiring words during the conduct of the first Thanksgiving Mass at Santiago National High School to welcome this school year 2023-2024.

He reiterated the idea that man was created with nothing and shall die with nothing. So he must realize that all he possess now are given by Him including his life.

The SNHS family were blessed and also delighted to celebrate the feast of St. Vincent de Paul. The school and the parish look forward for monthly Holy mass schedule.

The faculty and staff sponsored the holy mass. The students also offered their gifts of love.

Day 2 na ng Brigada Eskwela Kabarkada!Nakibahagi ka na ba?Tara na!

Pormal nang nagsimula nitong Lunes ang enrollment o pagrerehistro ng mga estudyante para sa School Year 2023-2024, gayundin ang national kickoff ng Brigada Eskwela.

Samantala, ang Brigada Eskwela naman na isang nationwide school maintenance program ay isasagawa mula Agosto 14 hanggang 19.

Pinangunahan naman ni Brgy Captain Eduardo Sabado ng Ambucao kasama ang mga iba pang opisyal at mamamayan ang ikalawang araw ng paglilinis sa paaralan bilang paghahanda sa nallalapit na pagbubukas ng klase ngayong Ika-29 ng Agosto taong kasalukuyan.

Hindi alintana ng mga mamamayan at mga opisyal ang mainit na panahon sa maghapong paglilinis sa paaralan.

Hangad namin ang malinis at maaliwalas na paaralan at silid aralan hindi langpara sa akin anak kundi para sa lahat ng mga mag-aaral na papasok sa Agosto 29,ito ang naging pahayag ni PB Eduardo Sabado.

Taun-taon ay nakikibagi sila sa Brigada eskwela kaya naman isang karangalan at lubos na pasasalamat ang naging pahayag o tugon ng Punongg**o sa mga nakibagi sa ikalawang Araw ng Brigada Eskwela 2023.

SNHS highlights MATATAG na Brigada Eskwela!

SANTIAGO,ILOCOS SUR, August 14, 2023 – Santiago National High School demonstrated unity, bayanihan spirit, and collaboration among its stakeholders and partners in this year's Brigada Eskwela (BE) Simultaneous School Kick-off on Monday.

Dr. Edlyn Arranz,Senior Education Program Specialist-SocMob Section graced the event and emphasized the importance of working as one and letting the community feel that they belong so they will continue to love and support the school.

The activity was headed by Dr. Natividad B. Reyes,School Principal IV, Mr. Joseph U. Dulatre, Head Teacher III and Mrs. Laiza Ordas, BE Coordinator with the active participation of the faculty and staff,barangay officals and other stakeholders. Mr. Larry Sumalbag,District Brigada Coordinator, also joined the kick-off.

The group has accomplished encouraging the local government, its community, businesses, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other local partners to support the implementation of BE and contribute in adequately preparing the school for the opening of classes on August 29. After the short program, the participants went to their own designated areas and lived the true spirit of volunteerism.
