NC BEC debaters advance to championship round

The Northeastern College (NC) Basic Education Center (BEC) team has secured its spot in the championship round of the 22nd Atty. Francisco E. Pascual Debate Tournament after a stellar performance in today’s match against the College of Accountancy and Business Administration (CABA).

Debating the proposition, "This house believes that the government should maintain a zero budget subsidy for PhilHealth in 2025, shifting the financial responsibility to contributions and other revenue sources," the BEC team showcased exceptional skills during the match held at the NC Function Hall.

Team members Friks Cheslyn Bangloy, Amethyst Alipio, Kyla Marie Silva, Jamee Castillo, and Joana Marie Foronda defended the affirmative side with great dedication and teamwork, leading them to their success.

Meanwhile, Amethyst Alipio was recognized as the Best Speaker, and on the other hand, Jamee Castillo and Joana Marie Foronda were named the Best Researchers, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the team's preparation.

Therefore, the BEC team will be facing the College of Liberal Arts (COLA) in the championship round scheduled for February 3.

NEWS: NC BEC debaters secured spot for the next round of debate tournament

Today, January 24, the debaters of Northeastern College (NC) Basic Education Center (BEC) and BEC Senior High School (SHS) triumphed in the elimination round of the 22nd Atty. Francisco E. Pascual Debate Tournament held at NC Function Hall.

The BEC team, composed of Friks Cheslyn Bangloy, Amethyst Alipio, Kyla Marie Silva, Jamee Ianna Castillo, and Joana Marie Foronda, excelled against the College of Education (COE) on the motion, “This House believes that the qualification for becoming a senator should be revised to include a minimum educational requirement,” earning a 91% score that secured their spot in the semi-finals.

Therefore, the SHS team, represented by Janelle Tamayo, Abegail Castriciones, and Ashley Geil, claimed victory over the College of Nursing (CON) on the motion, “Let it be resolved that Sangguniang Kabataan should have a six-year term,” advancing to the quarter-finals to face the College of Liberal Arts (COLA) on January 27.

Meanwhile, the Junior High School (JHS) team, consisting of King Kobayashi, Kaieth Orpilla, Caleb Moises, Maxeene Lania, and Reina May Maraddag, showed great dedication in argumenting against the College of Criminology (COC) on the proposition, “This House supports impeachment complaints against Sara Duterte.”

Special awards were given to Ashley Geil as Best Speaker, while Amethyst Alipio and Janelle Tamayo were recognized as Best Debaters.

The teams were coached by Sir Justine Ramos and Ma’am Jaselle Salvador, whose guidance greatly contributed to their success.

NEWS: Prince Eli Bartido secures spot for CAVRAA 2025

Prince Eli Bartido, a standout athlete in the secondary boys' swimming category, has clinched a coveted spot for the upcoming Cagayan Valley Regional Athletic Association (CAVRAA) Meet 2025.

Bartido achieved this feat during the ongoing Santiago City Athletic Association (SCAA) Meet 2024, where his exceptional performance earned him the opportunity to compete at the regional level.

LOOK: NC-BEC; kicks off first day of the 83rd Founding Anniversary

Today, September 18, the Northeastern College (NC) Basic Education Center (BEC) held their opening program for the school's 83rd Founding Anniversary, that marks the start of the three-day celebration running from September 18-20.

The said event was celebrated by all of the students at BEC, with this years theme, "NC @83: Thankful, Tenacious, Triumphant."

As part of the celebration, team-building activities such as the Harina Relay, Hole Tarp, and Water Relay were hosted at the BEC compound. These events brought together students and faculty, fostering camaraderie and school spirit in a fun and lively atmosphere.

Continuing tomorrow, September 19, Day-2 of the event will showcase the students' talents in sports with a volleyball match.

TIGNAN| NC-BEC, matagumpay na ipinagbunyi ang Buwan ng Wika 2024

Nitong Agosto 30, ang Northeastern College (NC) Basic Education Center (BEC) ay matagumpay na ipinagbunyi ang pagdaraos ng taunang Buwan ng Wika na siyang kinapapalooban ng temang, "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya."

Bilang bahagi ng selebrasyon, ang iba't-ibang grupo ng mga mag-aaral ay lumahok sa mga inihandang kompetisyon ng paaralan tulad ng Laro ng lahi, Tagisan ng talino, Digital Poster, Bayle sa NC, at ang pinaghandaan ng lahat na BEC Lakan at Lakambini 2024.

Gayunpaman, naging daan ang okasyong ito upang makiisa sa pagmamalaki sa makulay at mayamang kultura na mayroon ang ating bansa.

Maligayang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa: "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya"

Ngayong Agosto, ipinagdiriwang ng buong bansa ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may temang "Filipino: Wikang Mapagpalaya" ay sumasalamin sa papel ng ating wika sa pagpapalaya ng kaisipan at damdamin ng bawat mamamayan. Sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng Filipino, nagiging mas epektibo ang pakikipag-ugnayan at pagpapahayag ng mga adhikain, lalo na sa mga isyung panlipunan at pampulitika.

Hinimok ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF) ang bawat Pilipino na gamitin at palaganapin ang wikang Filipino sa pang-araw-araw na buhay. Ayon sa kanila, ang wika ay hindi lamang kasangkapan ng komunikasyon kundi isa ring mabisang sandata sa pagtataguyod ng katarungan, kaunlaran, at kalayaan.

Ang selebrasyon ngayong taon ay inaasahang magiging makabuluhan at makahulugan, lalo na sa gitna ng mga pagsubok na kinakaharap ng bansa. Sa patuloy na paggamit at pagyaman ng wikang Filipino, naipapamalas natin ang ating pagkakaisa at pagmamahal sa bayan, na siyang magpapaigting sa ating kolektibong adhikain para sa isang mas malaya at maunlad na Pilipinas.

LOOK: NC-BEC holds PTA Meeting, calls for continued cooperation

With a call for continued cooperation from parents and teachers, Northeastern College (NC) Basic Education Center (BEC) held its General Parent’s Teachers Association assembly at NC Composite Room, August 17.

The purpose of the said meeting is to discuss important updates, plans for the academic year, and ways to enhance student learning and well-being.

Dr. Dionicio D. Viloria, the school principal presented key initiatives, upcoming events, and academic programs to improve the overall educational experience. He also encouraged all the parents to support the administration's different activities, programs and projects.

Parents were also given an opportunity to voice their concerns, provide feedback, and suggest improvements.

Additionally, the PTA Officers discussed various activities and projects that will be implemented throughout the school year. #
