October 14, 2022, the day of C.O.C.C. training was full of excitement and nervousness.

The training began with the nervous but delighted faces of each cadet. It launched at 1:00 in theafternoon.

Students from different grades and strands of Kasiglahan Village Senior High School (KVSHS). appeared before the exact time of the training.

After a while, an opening speech was initiated by our beloved new Commandant, Mr. Cayetano Rances, followed by our Corps Command, Sir. Jan Rey Ragos. Discussed some important organizational rules and regulations that every cadet must follow. After a few minutes of discussion by Sir Ragos. It was followed by Sir. Reymart Cariaga, our Executive Officer (XO), Started instructing the basic facing, proper posture, and basic position.

The training was done right after our Commandant, Mr. Rances gave his reminders and closing
speech.

It was dismissed at exactly 5:00 in the afternoon, and the cadets took home the knowledge and skills that they learned in the training.

The event was facilitated by the Supreme Student Government (SSG) and The COCC Organization.

Subsequently, the Cadet Officers were honored to be part of the said ceremony, giving recognition to all professors and/or teachers in celebration of "World Teacher's Month".

The Event ended at 0840H. In the area of ​​guarding the safety and health of the attending teachers, several medic squads took the lead. The security squad was assigned to guard every corner of the school for the peacefulness of the event. The flag-raising ceremony ended without any incidents.

The color officer was our Corps Commander Sir Jan Rey Ragos and he also handled the cadets who staffed the event.

Yesterday September 29, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the conference room of Kasiglahan Village Senior High School three of our Cadet Officers, Reymart Cariaga (Executive Officer), Maevin Rose Avenido (S1 Adjutant Officer), Jamaica Rojo (S2 Intelligence officer) stated their oath taking. The Supreme Student Government (SGG) planned the event for the new Organization Officers for school year 2022-2023. Some of the Cadets helped to prepare the program.

This event participated by these organizations The Supreme Student Government (SGG), Rover Scouts, Red Cross Youth (RCY), THE COCOON, YES-O, Humanities and Social Sciences Society (HUMSS Society), Accountancy Business and Management Society (ABM Society), Information and Communications Technology Society (ICT Society), Technical-Vocational-Livelihood Society (TVL Society).

Dr. Greg Velarde, Principal II of Kasiglahan Village Senior High School, started the program started with his heartfelt opening remarks, and the oath taking start, and it ended with a closing remark by the The Supreme Student Government (SGG) President Ms. Psyrelle Eguiron.

As of 6:30 in the morning, September 26, 2022. We were triggered by the typhoon Karding. Many people here in the kasiglahan (Phase 1k2 "AnakPawis”) evacuated to the Kasiglahan Village Senior High School (KVSHS). The estimated Family evacuees are 183 Families in total of 1124 individuals. Because of the influx of evacuees and lack of rooms where the evacuees can stay.The others stayed in the corridor, hallways and covered court of the school.

But right now we were greeted by good weather so some of the evacuees chose to return to their homes.Some families cleaned up the places where they stayed last sunday evening.

Because of that, the C.O.C.C Organization is very grateful for your kind cooperation in keeping the school clean.We are hoping that you are in a good situation right now.

And also we are grateful to all Cadets, Alumni,Volunteers and to Sir. Arthus Arboleda, our Commandant, to be with us in the sleepless night at the KVSHS last night.

In preparation for training the trainee Cadets, the Kasiglahan Village Senior High School Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC) convened a meeting on September 16, 2022.

Both the recently enlisted cadets and the alumni of the Cadet Officer Candidate Corps collaborate to plan and build the bulletin board that will be used to publicly release future announcements regarding the Kasiglahan Village Senior High School Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC).

On 9th of September 2022, the Kasiglahan Village Senior High School Cadet Officer Candidate Course (COCC) held an orientation to welcome the new recruited Cadets, facilitated by Mr. Arthus Arboleda

The opening remarks were delivered by Cadet Private Jan Rey Ragos.
The introduction of alumni and orientation proper was discussed by the Cadet Officer Candidate Corps Alumni.

"C.O.C.C is a pleasant organization, and it can give you knowledge and skills to train your physical and mental ability. It also teaches youth discipline, respect towards authority and other people, and courtesy. It gently pushes you over your limits, but together with our buddies we are trained to overcome our challenges with them. We may view it is as a more beneficial organization not just because it trains you to help and serve our country, you may also apply this training to your family, friends, and loved ones especially when disaster strikes upon us.

ROTC HISTORY

In 1912, the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) was established.

The first ROTC unit was born with the establishment of the Department of Military Science and Tactics at the University of the Philippines in July 3, 1922. And it only became mandatory after 13 years when President Manuel Quezon signed Commonwealth Act 1, also known as the National Defense Act of 1935.

It was disbanded and demobilized after the World War II since the country could not afford to keep a large military force without depleting its resources. But later restored in 1967 as a mandatory program by President Ferdinand Marcos, who was a product of ROTC class 1937 with Executive Order 59.

Since the National Service Training Program Act of 2001 was passed, said program was no longer a mandatory but an optional program for the college students.
