Despite facing severe losses from a typhoon, John bounced back stronger with the support of the SCI Multipurpose Cooperative, one of DA-ACPC’s trusted partner lending conduits in the province.

On our recent visit to Albay, we joined Cheska, an Education in Emergencies Focal at UNICEF Philippines, to conduct an assessment of the conditions in evacuation centers throughout the province.

With schools being used as evacuation centers, emergencies like the unrest continue to disrupt the learning of many children.

UNICEF works with the government and partners in providing temporary learning spaces and learner kits to ensure that every child has a safe space to learn, especially when they go during and after emergencies.
