French envoy: France eyes expansion of defense cooperation with PH as China’s aggression intensifies
As China’s aggression intensifies, France is seriously considering working toward negotiating a Visiting Forces Agreement with the Philippines.
Speaking during the French National Day, French Ambassador to the Philippines Marie Fontanel said that this undertaking follows the Philippines’ successful agreement with Japan and the escalating Chinese aggression in the Indo-Pacific region.
“Now that the spectacular negotiation with Japan has come to the impressive result we saw last week – and congratulations for that, we are working hard to be one of the countries next in line,” the lady envoy said in her speech on the 8th anniversary of the South China Sea arbitral award.

British Ambassador reiterates support of UK for Phl sovereignty as China’s aggression steps up
Following the injury of Filipino soldiers in China’s latest aggression in the West Philippine Sea, the United Kingdom has reiterated its support of Philippine sovereignty and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils said: “We as the UK continue to stand with the Philippines in support of its sovereignty. And today, as ever we do, emphasizing the critical importance of international law, and in particular UNCLOS as the governing framework for all the activities that people should participate in, and condemning actions that undermine navigational freedoms, challenge international law, and do so.”
The ambassador also drew parallels between the recent Philippine Independence Day celebration and the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings, where King Charles III spoke.
The ambassador was most applauded when she welcomed the guests to the reception in Tagalog.
“Natutuwa akong tanggapin kayo dito ngayong gabi. Ito ay isang napakahalagang okasyon para sa amin. Natutuwa akong ipagdiwang ang kaarawan ng aming hari kasama ang aming mga Pinoy na kaibigan,” she said.

In this video, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Russia's thirst for blood is unabated as it has always been a pleasure for them to burn. He also underscored that Russia is run by men who want to make it a norm – burning lives, destroying cities and villages, dividing people and erasing national borders through war.
Zelenskyy also pointed out that there is no nation that can stop such war alone, unaided, hence the active participation of the world leaders is much needed.
Speaking from Kharkiv, a city in the east of Ukraine, the Ukrainian president bared that the city currently being attacked by Russian militia is very close to the border of Russia. And Ukraine is still holding on the line as the Russian aggression is already on its third year and Ukrainians and the people living in Ukraine are in constant terror.
With more than a million of people living in the city, every night and every day the Russian army is shelling the city. mostly with S-300 missiles. These are air defense missiles that Russia employs to terrorize the land and has destroyed all districts or streets in Kharkiv.
Zelenskyy described that after the Russian strikes on hundreds of their cities and villages. Some of them, once booming with life, are now burnt to ashes, peopleless. A burnt-out emptiness is the most horrible consequence of war. A war that Ukraine didn’t want and haven’t provoked, and in which Ukraine is defending itself from Russian attempts to seize our resources and territories and destroy our national identity. And the world sees it.
The Ukrainian president also condemned Russia anew because it captured the nuclear power plant and is openly using it for radiation blackmail. There is nothing that wouldn’t become a weapon for Russia including hunger, and exactly this the world felt when Ukraine was hit by a Russian naval blockade. Russia is the only source of aggression and constantly tries to expand the war.
