FABIA, NAMED AS NEW MARINA ADMINISTRATOR

Atty. Hernani Nieves Fabia was named as the new Administrator of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

Other officials of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) attached agencies were also appointed namely:

Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Mr. Ma. O Ranada Aplasca,
Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Acting General Manager Mr. Cesar Chiong
Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Deputy Director General Mr. Edgardo Diaz
Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) Executive Director Carmelo Arcilla

Fabia is the Founder and President of the PNTC Colleges, formerly known as Philippine Nautical and Technological College, a private Higher Education Institution and an accredited Maritime Training Education provider in the country.

PH TO REPATRIATE AFFECTED FIL CREW FROM UKRAINE

OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac says they are monitoring 3 merchant vessels manned by Filipino crew in Ukraine: The MV Yasa Jupiter, MV Namura Queen and MV Rio Grande.

He confirms, the affected crew will be repatriated soon.

Cacdac, a former POEA Administrator says, OWWA together with the other concerned agencies, unions and organizations of licensed manning agencies have been meeting to further assist our seafarers.

He adds, a discussion was also initiated on declaring Ukraine as a “war risk” trading area for seafarers setting additional benefits and protection for the crew bound to Ukraine ports.
