We, the Philippine Nurses Association Germany e.V., would like to create awareness about the increasing number of Filipino Nurses experiencing labour malpractice here in Germany.

It was reported that prior to signing to a work agreement, the nurses should also sign a power of attorney (Vollmacht) to be used for the change of employer status. The document, however, was discovered to be a general power of attorney that could be utilized however the employer would wish to.

Here are some tips to avoid this:
1. NEVER sign any document without reading it. (Use google translate or best option is consult a lawyer before signing important contracts.)
2. ALWAYS do the processing or follow ups yourselves especially about important documents like change of work permit
3. BE VIGILANT! Do not be tempted by high salary offers.

Changing Employer
If you have lived and worked in Germany for over two years, the process of changing the employer is straightforward, and you don’t need prior approval from the immigration office. However, if you have worked for less than that, you must receive consent from an immigration office in order to change a job and, subsequently, the work permit.

The work permit is usually tied to one employer and the name of the company is written on your Work Visa. In this case, you will need to get a new visa when changing jobs.

Steps:
1) Google your responsible immigration office on your area
2) Write them an Email (if no response after a week, write them a follow up letter via Email)
3) Send the required documents requested by the immigration officer via Email

Common Requirements for change of employer

Valid residence permit for employment (gültiges Aufenthalterlaubnis)
Passport Copy (Pass)
Registered Residence (Anmeldebestätigung)
Work Contract (Arbeitsvertrag)

Note: Only renewal of Work permit has a fee.

Have you experienced LABOUR MALPRACTICE too? Send an email to [email protected]. We will assist you!

Beware! DOH detect MPOX case in the Philippines.

𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐗:(formerly known as monkeypox) is a viral infection that can be prevented through a combination of vaccination, personal hygiene, and safe practices.
Here are key measures to prevent mpox:

𝟏. 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
- **Smallpox Vaccine:** Since mpox is closely related to smallpox, the smallpox vaccine (JYNNEOS or ACAM2000) provides protection against mpox. High-risk individuals, such as healthcare workers or those exposed to confirmed cases, are recommended to get vaccinated.

𝟐. 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭:
- **Infected Individuals:** Avoid direct contact with people who have mpox symptoms, such as rashes, sores, or lesions.
- **Animal Contact:** Avoid contact with animals that may carry the virus, especially rodents and non-human primates in areas where mpox is endemic.

𝟑. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞:
- **Hand Hygiene:** Regularly wash your hands with soap and water, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially after contact with potentially infected individuals or animals.
- **Disinfection:** Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that might have been in contact with an infected person or animal.

𝟒. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐏𝐄):

- **Masks and Gloves:** Wear appropriate PPE, such as masks and gloves, when caring for someone with mpox or handling materials that might be contaminated.

𝟓. 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬:

- **Condoms and Safe S*x:** Use condoms and practice safe s*x. Since mpox can be transmitted through close contact, it's important to take precautions in intimate settings.
- **Limit S*xual Partners:** Limiting the number of s*xual partners and avoiding s*xual contact with someone who has symptoms can reduce the risk of transmission.

𝟔. 𝐈𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝:

- **Isolation:** If you are diagnosed with mpox, isolate yourself from others to prevent the spread of the virus. Follow public health guidelines regarding isolation duration and measures.

𝟕. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝:

- **Public Health Guidance:** Follow the latest recommendations and guidelines from health authorities, as mpox is a re-emerging disease and guidance may evolve.

By following these preventive measures, you can reduce your risk of contracting mpox and help prevent its spread in the community.

HB No. 9764 Extending the PIC Validity to Five Years
Approved by Lower House

Good news to all Filipino Professionals!

Aiming to support the Professional Regulation Commission’s (PRC) thrust to provide improved if not the best services to Filipino professionals, the PRC’s proposal to extend the validity period of the Professional Identification Cards (PIC) from three (3) years to five (5) years have been approved by the House of Representatives through House Bill (HB) No. 9764. Under the leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the bill was duly approved by the House on the third and final reading last 21 February 2024. The approved House bill will be transmitted to the Senate for further law enactment process.

Submitted and sponsored by Chairperson Kristine Alexie B. Tutor, Committee on Civil Service and Professional Regulation, along with its members: Representatives Edwin L. Olivarez, Angelo Marcos Barba, Paul R. Daza, Marissa “Del Mar” Magsino, Ciriaco B. Gato, Jr., Gabriel H. Bordado, Jr. as authors, HB 9764 which seeks to promote convenience to the transacting public by bestowing five (5) years validity to PICs is an affirmation of a positive citizenry advocacy of the nation’s legislative body.

As envisioned, the spreading out of the number of active professionals over five (5) years will lessen the renewal transactions per year. The PIC validity extension will also ease the pressure on the appointment system since fewer professionals will be renewing their PICs, and finally, it will make CPD compliance easier since five (5) years will allow a longer period within which to comply with requirements.

Together, for a “Bagong Pilipinas”, the PRC and our legislators will ensure that not a single Filipino Professional will be left out of service excellency!
