The University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue College of Criminology CARES embarked on an enlightening journey as the 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝐀-𝐏𝐀𝐃 𝐏𝐇) conducted a 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 & 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐌𝐇𝐏𝐒𝐒) at the Golden Prince Hotel on April 26, 2024.

Highlighting the 𝑷𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑨𝒊𝒅 (𝑷𝑭𝑨) with its core principles: Prepare, Look, Listen, and Link. It's a humane, supportive, and practical assistance to fellow human beings who recently suffered exposure to serious stressors. The said training fostered a sense of unity and camaraderie among participants through group activities and collaborative discussions led by the esteemed DOH guest speakers, concluding with a pledge to serve those in need with compassion and dedication as PFA responders.

The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) of Police Regional Office 7 (PRO 7) conducted 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢-𝐈𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 at the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) on October 20, 2023, held at Annex 2 Social Hall.

The event spotlights the 𝐁𝐈𝐃𝐀 program, an acronym for "𝑩𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒚 𝑰𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏, 𝑫𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒂’𝒚 𝑨𝒚𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒏". The symposium also inevitably filled all the seats as the PRO 7 lively performed a variety of talents while warmly welcoming the criminology students to show their abilities. With all the entertainment and insightful discussions about terrorism and drugs, the spirit of generosity lives as the gifts and rewards are present at the event.

The seminar tackled the effects of illegal drugs, terrorism, and cybercrime trends with the aim of empowering the students to become productive and law-abiding citizens.

On October 19, 2023, the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM), in collaboration with the Campus Awareness Restores Excellency and Spirituality and the Mandaue City Police Office, hosted an insightful 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦. The symposium took place at the UCLM BSED 7th Floor Auditorium, where experts gathered to spread knowledge and enlighten the youth about drugs. The said event amassed the criminology students of UCLM at all levels, arming students with knowledge of the various aspects of prohibited drugs.

The PNP AKG-VFU comprehensively imparted their expertise on kidnap for ransom prevention strategies and community involvement. The AKG-VFU exhibits adept knowledge and extensive experience, possessing remarkable skills and intellect in their field of expertise.

The lecture illuminated the criminology students as the PNP AKG-VFU divulged their knowledge regarding kidnap for ransom (KFR). Enlightening the students with the grasp of different aspects of kidnap for ransom situations, with criminology aspiring to become law enforcers by cultivating pragmatism.

𝑴𝒔. 𝑴𝒂. 𝑳𝒐𝒖𝒊𝒆𝒇𝒍𝒐𝒓 𝑬. 𝑻𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒔, a 4th-year criminology student and the former president of the UCLM Criminology Community Awareness Relations and Extension Services (CARES), the goal of this organization is to inspire others to get involved and make a difference with regard to community services.

Ms.Tormis is an active member of the CARES organization, investing her time by participating in various events facilitated by CARES. With her hard work, dedication, and genuine heart to be of service, Ms. Tormis received several certificates for her accomplishments. The spirit of camaraderie with extraordinary efforts from the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 displays amity as they march to lead the 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐏 𝐃𝐀𝐘 on September 16, 2023. The movement with the unity of Community Awareness Relations and Extension Services (CARES) from different departments of the University of Cebu Lapu Lapu and Mandaue (UCLM) prospers with the guidance of Barangay Looc and Barangay Opao and the medical visibility of UCLM APAD-PH Volunteers.

The WORLD CLEANUP DAY is an annual global social action program with the aim to raise awareness of global mismanaged waste crises and to build a more sustainable world. The College of Criminology took the vanguard to lead the movement as the Criminology Interns advanced towards the coastal area with the Criminology CARES volunteers, armed with gloves, trash bags, and a great sense of duty.

Under the esteemed banner of the SELF CARE Community Extension program, the College of Criminology orchestrated a comprehensive and hands-on "𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐮𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫" featuring live-fire component. The seminar held on July 29, 2023 at UCLM Indoor Firing Range. This exceptional event was specifically tailored for the Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) from Brgy. Looc, Opao, and Umapad alongside the esteemed Criminology Instructors, this seminar was an embodiment of the college commitment in fostering community welfare and knowledge enrichment.

At the helm of this educational initiative stood none other than our illustrious Dean, of the College of Criminology Dr. Paulino V. Pioquinto, a beacon of expertise in the realm of criminology. His deep-rooted knowledge and captivating insights not only illuminated the intricacies of responsible firearm management but also offered a profound understanding of the significance of live-fire exercises. This seminar marked a resounding step forward in bolstering both theoretical understanding and practical prowess, all in service of fortifying community safety and security.

In a bid to contribute to the well-being of the community, the College of Criminology organized a 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 as part of its 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. The seminar held on August 12, 2023 at UCLM Basic Education Function Hall. The College of Criminology has extended a gracious invitation to the Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSO) in the three adopted barangays namely: Brgy. Looc, Opao, and Umapad, who stand as the esteemed beneficiaries of this program. The integral part of the college community outreach, aimed to educate participants about the importance of adopting safe driving practices, educate about the importance of road safety and traffic regulations. The event featured expert speaker from the PNP Regional Highway Patrol Group 7 named PAT. DAVID A ARIOLA, RCRIM, MSCJ, LPT. Through informative sessions and interactive discussions, attendees gained insights into defensive driving techniques, the significance of following traffic rules, and ways to prevent accidents.

With this initiative, the College of Criminology demonstrated its commitment to fostering safer environment and promoting responsible citizenship.
