Film ASEAN strives to strengthen the positions of its member countries across international spheres of film production and distribution.

Film ASEAN, the forum of the lead government agencies in film development within the ten Association of Southeast Asian Nations member states, was conceptualized in 2013 to create a shared vision and common platform with the goal of strengthening the film-related programs in the region, especially for film production, distribution, education and other audiovisual developments to contribute toward

ASEAN integration. While most of these countries have a long history of activities in cinema, Film ASEAN seeks to act as a unified organization that promotes the advancement of infrastructure, systems and programs that allow the film, audiovisual, and creative industries to progress for nation-building and cultural exchange.
