The Father's Divine Life Enabling Us to Be Perfect

Matt 5:48 You therefore shall be perfect as your heavenly
Father is perfect.

2 Pet 1:4 Through which He has granted to us precious and
exceedingly great promises that through these you might become
partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption
which is in the world by lust.

Matt 4:8
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

(9)And he said to Him, All these will I give You if You will fall down and worship me.

(10) Then Jesus said to him, Go away,
Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve."

The third temptation is a matter of worldly glory, promotion, ambition, position, and a promising future. All this is the glory of the world.

Luke 4:6 says that the kingdoms of the
world and their glory were delivered unto the devil; hence, to whomever he wills he gives them. Before his fall, Satan as the archangel was appointed by God to be the ruler of the world

(Ezek. 28:13-14). Thus, he is called the ruler of this world

(John 12:31), holding all the kingdoms of this world and their glory in his hand. He presented all these to the newly anointed King as a temptation in order to secure worship. The
heavenly King overcame this temptation.

The new King rebuked the devil's presentation and defeated him by standing on the ground of man to worship and serve God only. To worship or to serve anything other than God for gain is always the devil's temptation to secure worship. The Lord seemed to be saying to Satan, "Satan, as a man, I, Jesus,
worship God and serve Him only. You are God's enemy, and I will never worship you. I don't care for the glory of the world or for the kingdoms of the world. Satan, get away from
Me!"

Matt 5:7
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shownmercy.

Eph 2:4
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us.

Although we must be strict with ourselves in righteousness, we must learn to be merciful to others and not to place demands on them. It is wrong for any Christian to place demands on
others. If you are truly strict with yourself, then you will know how to be merciful to others. But do not try to be merciful to others without first being righteous with yourself. Every sloppy person is merciful to others because he
has already been merciful to himself. If he sleeps late every morning, he will be very merciful to others who sleep late. This kind of mercy is not mercy at all; it is absolutely
wrong. No one who is sloppy knows how to be merciful to others. Only a strict person, a righteous person, knows how to be merciful.

We must be righteous and strict with ourselves, never making excuses for ourselves. But when others offend us, thereby
exposing their shortage, we must be merciful toward them. All those who are self-righteous condemn others and never let them
go. In Himself God is righteous. However, if He were righteous to the uttermost in dealing with us, we would all be killed. Although God is righteous in relation to Himself, He is full
of mercy in dealing with us. As fallen sinners, we surely need God's mercy. We also must learn to be righteous with ourselves, and merciful toward others. This matter of being
righteous toward ourselves and merciful toward others is not firstly a matter of outward behavior; it is firstly a matter of our inward attitude, of our inward being.

Matt 3:1 Now in those days John the Baptist appeared,
preaching in the wilderness of Judea (2) And saying, Repent,
for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.

Words of Ministry

The first significant word in [Matthew 3:2] is the word
"repent." John began his ministry with this word. To repent is
to have a change of mind issuing in regret, to have a turn in
purpose. In Greek the word translated repent means to have a
change of mind. To repent is to have a change in our thinking,
our philosophy, our logic....Before we were saved, we all were
under the direction of our fallen mentality. We were far away
from God, and our life was in direct opposition to His will.
Under the influence of our fallen mentality, we went farther
and farther astray from God. But one day we heard the
preaching of the gospel telling us to repent, to have a turn
in our thinking, philosophy, and logic.

Where is God's Rest?

Verees

Isa 66:1 Thus says the Lord, Heaven is My throne and the earth
is My footstool. Where then is a house you could build for Me?
And where is a place that I may rest? (2) ...But to this one I
will look, to him who is humble and contrite of spirit, and
who trembles at My word.

Words of Ministry

Many Christians think of going to heaven. To them, heaven is a
lovely place. But God does not love heaven as much as these
Christians do. He wants a place of rest. Isaiah 66:2 reveals
that God's resting place is neither heaven nor earth, but man.
God is looking to a man. This verse corresponds to Matthew
5:3: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the
kingdom of the heavens." The kind of man who is God's rest is
a man who is poor and contrite in spirit. God's will is that
we would be poor and contrite in our spirit, empty for Him.
However, if our spirits are filled with things other than God,
we are not poor in our spirit. If such is the case, God cannot
have His dwelling with us. One who is poor in spirit is one
whose spirit is vacant, unoccupied, ready for the Lord to come
in.

As those poor and contrite in spirit, we should be able to
say, "Lord, come in. Lord, I'm vacant, unoccupied, ready for
You. Come in, make Your dwelling in me, and settle Yourself in
me." We all must be the Lord's dwelling. This is what He
desires, and this is what He is seeking. This is God's good
will. The uttermost blessing is to become God's dwelling
place. His dwelling is also our dwelling. When our God is at
rest, we also find rest in His dwelling.

Everything to Us Is a Blessing

Bible Verses

Gen 50:20 Even though you intended evil against me, God
intended it for good...
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are called according to His
purpose.

Words of ministry

All the New Testament believers are Josephs. Because you are a
Joseph, everything that happens to you is a blessing. This is
the reason the New Testament tells us to thank the Lord for
all things (Eph. 5:20). We are those under the universal
blessing.

This is why we should not curse anyone (Rom. 12:14). Because
everything is a blessing to us, we cannot help but bless
others. Even if others do something bad to us, that bad thing
is a blessing. Hence, there is no need for us to curse them;
instead of cursing, we would bless them. We may say, "Thank
you for hating me. God bless you. Your hatred is a blessing to
me. I can bless you in any kind of situation. If you treat me
well, I bless you. If you mistreat me, I still bless you."
Praise the Lord that we are the blessed people!

We need to learn to say that we are the universally blessed
people. Our home, family, and all that belongs to us is a
blessing, no matter how bad things may sometimes be. We never
know what the result of a thing will be. Only the Lord knows.
Whether things are good or bad, the result is the same. To
Joseph everything is a blessing. If you see this, you will
enjoy rest and peace. We are the blessed people, those under
God's blessing, and everything is a blessing to us. All things
are ours.

The Beginning of Knowledge

1 aThe proverbs of Solomon, son of David, king of Israel:

2 To know wisdom and instruction,

to understand words of insight,

3 to receive instruction in wise dealing,

in brighteousness, justice, and equity;

4 to give prudence to cthe simple,

knowledge and ddiscretion to the youth—

5 Let the wise hear and eincrease in learning,

and the one who understands obtain guidance,

6 to understand a proverb and a saying,

fthe words of the wise and their griddles.

7 hThe fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;

fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The Enticement of Sinners

8 iHear, my son, your father’s instruction,

and forsake not your mother’s teaching,

9 for they are ja graceful garland for your head

and kpendants for your neck.

10 My son, if sinners lentice you,

do not consent.

11 If they say, “Come with us, mlet us lie in wait for blood;

nlet us ambush the innocent without reason;

12 like Sheol let us oswallow them alive,

and whole, like pthose who go down to the pit;

13 we shall find all precious goods,

we shall fill our houses with plunder;

14 throw in your lot among us;

we will all have one purse”—

15 my son, qdo not walk in the way with them;

rhold back your foot from their paths,

16 for stheir feet run to evil,

and they make haste to shed blood.

17 tFor in vain is a net spread

in the sight of any bird,

18 but these men ulie in wait for their own blood;

they uset an ambush for their own lives.

19 vSuch are the ways of everyone who is wgreedy for unjust gain;

xit takes away the life of its possessors.

The Call of Wisdom

20 yWisdom cries aloud in the street,

in the markets she raises her voice;

21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out;

at zthe entrance of the city gates she speaks:

22 “How long, O asimple ones, will you love being simple?

How long will bscoffers delight in their scoffing

and fools chate knowledge?

23 If you turn at my reproof,1

behold, I will dpour out my spirit to you;

I will make my words known to you.

24 eBecause I have called and fyou refused to listen,

have gstretched out my hand and no one has heeded,

25 because you have hignored all my counsel

and iwould have none of my reproof,

26 I also jwill laugh at your calamity;

I will mock when kterror strikes you,

27 when terror strikes you like la storm

and your calamity comes like a whirlwind,

when distress and anguish come upon you.

28 mThen they will call upon me, but I will not answer;

they will seek me diligently but will not find me.

29 Because they chated knowledge

and ndid not choose the fear of the Lord,

30 hwould have none of my counsel

and idespised all my reproof,

31 therefore they shall eat othe fruit of their way,

and have ptheir fill of their own devices.

32 For the simple are killed by qtheir turning away,

and rthe complacency of fools destroys them;

33 but swhoever listens to me will dwell secure

and will be tat ease, without dread of disaster.”

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
-Psalm 1

One of the greatest examples of God’s eternal outlook on how humans should live is Psalm 1. It depicts the way He intends for us to respond to Him. Here we discover His separation between good and evil and His grace versus the wrath imposed on evil doers.

1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.
Nothing captures the Lord’s attention more than walking away from unfavorable living and following His commands. This isn’t easy because we realize a few family members and friends are among those who live in spiritual blindness.
So, the question God asks is, am I willing to trust Him and make the right choice.
God is precise in the way He teaches us to live. He never changes. Even though the psalmist lived thousands of years ago, the validity of this truth still stands today. And in the New Testament Christ preached the same reality.
Here our Father shows us to place Him first by building a mindset anchored in His word. God wants us to think of Him, follow His truth, and take action on His commandments. Each of us must remember our salvation is His gift. And we need to show Him gratitude for delivering us from evil.
On the positive side, meditating on God unveils spiritual wisdom; an attribute reserved for faithful believers and delivered through Christ. And the more one embraces Jesus, a life filled with God’s love, grace, and mercy emerges.
It’s a joyous and enlightening experience to understand God. Something no one wants to miss. I love building a private relationship with God. It’s uplifting and filled with peace. No matter how troublesome life becomes, He is my way out of distress and into serenity.
How willing am I to follow God regardless of the outcome?
To receive God’s blessing, I must abandon myself and be careful who I call friends.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
The third verse God promises an unshakable future. This analogy shows God’s intentions to give an eternal foundation for our faithful adherence to His truth. This endless delivery of spiritual nourishment removes the sinful roots of Adam and Eve.
Our Father promises prosperity.
Since the Lord provides us with the means to meet our physical demands (food, water, and shelter) and sin separates us from His grace, then our need is spiritual. Here God wants to give us an abundance of His Spirit. And with His guidance, everything needed to live in the Spirit of truth blossoms.
So, it’s not by accident we find God improving our spiritual lives. Remember real prosperity is losing our individuality and living in Christ!

THE ETERNAL PENALTY FOR DISOBEDIENCE

4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
Make no mistake. Our Father is straightforward in how He handles unfaithfulness. A point often overlooked is the penalty for turning away from Him. It’s a serious offense with deadly consequences.
Under those circumstances, no one wants to face His power in handing out the sentence of condemnation.
But through Christ, He shows mercy.

GOD’S ETERNAL PROTECTION

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
God never abandons those who pick up their cross and walk in Christ. He makes this known by protecting His chosen ones.

PSALM 2

1 Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,
Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 “Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree:
The LORD has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the LORD with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,
And you perish in the way,
When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

The psalmist of Psalm Two gives us the unique perspective of viewing God, sitting upon His throne, looking down upon the kingdoms of this earth. What does God see?

God sees the kings of the earth, setting themselves against Him and His Anointed, the Lord Jesus Christ? He sees their vain plotting, shaping this world as they would, breaking the bonds of His control upon them.

Could this really be the state of the kings of the earth in our day? Do they not want what is best for man? Do they actually seek to thwart God and His rule over them, or do they even believe God exists?

How relevant, then, is Psalm Two to us in the 21st century? The amazing thing is that this Psalm, which was written over 2000 years ago, is even more relevant in our day than in the time the psalmist penned these words! Writing what was given Him by the Holy Spirit, the psalmist's words are even more important for the rulers of our day than ever. Was there ever a time when it was more needful for the rulers of the earth to look to God?

Remember, that Psalm Two was written hundreds of years before the birth of Christ. God's Anointed had not yet even set foot upon this earth as Jesus, the Son of God and Son of Man.

Yet, even then, the rulers of the earth rushed quickly to serve any god except the real God. Are the rulers of the earth in our day any different? How many kingdoms of this world even proclaim the existence of God in our day? Even nations that honored God in the past do nothing more than give Him mere lip service in our day.

Even countries such as the United States, whose laws were founded upon Biblical principles, seem to be rushing quickly away from the Word and Law of God. Under the guise of separation of church and state, our government is slowing eroding away the Biblical foundations of this nation.

Is there no hope for the kingdoms of this world? Yes, there is hope. It is for this very reason that God has ordained that Psalms such as Psalm Two are included in His Holy Word. In verses 10 through 12, the psalmist urges the rulers of this earth to serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

As we read through this psalm we see that God has given the nations of this world to Christ as His inheritance. What does that mean, and how does that affect us?

God sees the earth from its beginning to its end, not from some vantage point in middle like we have. All the plotting of the men of this earth is truly plotting in vain, for in the end, Christ will rule, and all will bow down before Him. Thus the rulers are called now to serve the Lord, for without the Lord they have no hope.

What about us as individuals? How does Psalm Two apply to us? Like the kings of the earth, we are called to love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Left hopelessly condemned before God, after the sins of Adam and Even, we look to Christ as the only One who can restore us to fellowship with God the Father.

We, too, are called to be wise, and to serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Now is the time; now is the acceptable day of salvation. In Christ is the hope and Light for all who come to Him.

However, that day will not last forever. For those who do not respond to God's call of salvation, God's wrath will separate them from Him forever!

May you read the words of Psalm Two, verse 12 again, and make them your new motto for life.

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry,And you perish in the way,When His wrath is kindled but a little.Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
..the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7b

PSALM 3

✅Salvation Belongs to the Lord

1 LORD, how they have increased who trouble me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
2 Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” Selah

3 But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
4 I cried to the LORD with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah

5 I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.

7 Arise, O LORD;
Save me, O my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;
You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
8 Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

Like the Psalmist, it is easy to loose heart as a Christian, especially when we look at our culture today. We seem to be overcome by the ungodly way of life that is so predominant all around us.

David found himself in one of the most difficult situations one can experience in life. His own son had marched into Jerusalem claiming the kingship for himself. Helpless to defend the city, David was forced to flee with his own faithful army.

As he agonized over his situation, he could hear the rumblings of the people saying, "There is no help for him in God."

Was that true? Had David reached a point in his life where even God had turned His back upon him? No! He could not believe that it was so. He cried to God,

But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,My glory and the One who lifts up my head.

As he thought upon these things, David was comforted. He actually lay down and slept, for the Lord sustained him. Even if 10,000 were to raise their arms against him, he would trust in the Lord God.

Where is our faith? Do we have the same bold confidence of David? When we are struck on every side, especially by those closest to us--our family, do we give up in despair, or do we confidently trust our God who will never fail us?

David had many rich years of living with the Lord. He had been sought on all sides, and yet never had God failed him. Even now, David's hope did not rest upon himself, or even the strength of his own army. His hope rested upon God, alone.

And that, is the lesson for us this day. Where do we place our faith and our hope? Do we rest upon the things of this world? Are we trusting in the many things we have, or our bank accounts, or our friends? All of these things may fail, but the Lord will ever remain by the side of those whose trust and hope is in Him.

We live in a precarious age. Things thought to be trustworthy are showing themselves to be vulnerable. We have seen countries overcome by rebellion, governments toppled, banks fail, and prices rise astronomically. If we trust in these things, we will find ourselves wanting!

Let us then, like David in Psalm 3 turn to God our help in ages past, and our hope for years to come!

13/01/2020

Through His first coming, the Lord solved the problem of the old creation, but at His second coming He will deal with and crush the rebellious human government – Christ with His overcomers will come as a mighty smashing stone to obliterate human government and bring in God’s kingdom!

This is all seen in Psalm 2, and so below is the verse-by-verse going through this psalm to see God’s economy being unfolded, especially God’s system of Grace and His system of Government.

v. 1 Why are the nations in an uproar, And why do the peoples contemplate a vain thing? – all the nations are in an uproar! No matter how developed or how modern they are, all the nations of the world are in an uproar – and they contemplate a vain thing. Satan has all the nations contemplate many vain things, so that they would not see the real thing, the kingdom of God!

v. 2 The kings of the earth take their stand, And the rulers sit in counsel together, Against Jehovah and against His Anointed: – even the kings of the earth, the rulers of the nations, are taking a stand against God and they are in a collective rebellion against God Himself and His anointed! The Lord’s name is blasphemed again and again, even openly. Wherever you turn, whomever you speak, no matter what channel you turn the TV on, on any website or blog online – there is a violent rebellion against the One anointed by God!

v. 3 Let us break apart their bonds And cast their ropes away from us. – man refuses to be limited and governed by God. Satan instigates man that man would rebel against God and against any rule or ordinance from God. Man today upholds evil and rejects any restrained – people rejoice when an evil law is passed, and they desire to live in the lusts of their flesh, saying there’s no God. God has ordained a man for a woman – and this is holy before Him, just as God wants to marry a corporate man as His bride. But man wants to “redefine marriage” in open rebellion against God, approving and uplifting homosexuality and same-sex marriage. These laws that promote and uphold gay marriage and same-sex marriage are a sign of the open rebellion of people against God, against God’s ordination. Man rejects God’s system of government.

v. 4 He who sits in the heavens laughs; The Lord has them in derision. – God is not stirred up by this, He is too great and too high – He just LAUGHS at man’s rebellion and He already has a plan…

v. 5 Then He will speak to them in His anger, And in His burning wrath He will terrify them: – His speaking which was supposed to be sweet and full of love turns into terrifying words, since man is in open rebellion against God. This is in God’s system of government – He needs to come in and proclaim….

v. 6 But I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain. – God has already installed His King! Christ has been installed upon mount Zion as the King! No matter what man says, Jesus is the King! Jesus is the King of the universe, the Ruler over the whole universe! This is why today we call, O Lord Jesus! Jesus has been installed by God as the Ruler and the King over the universe!

v. 7 I will recount the decree of Jehovah; He said to Me: You are My Son; Today I have begotten You. – The Lord Jesus was begotten by God in His resurrection to be deified even in His humanity – He became the God-man who rules over the entire universe! God approved all His deeds, the process He went through, and God begot Christ as His Firstborn Son in His resurrection! This is the decree of Jehovah!
