If people like you, they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you they’ll do business with you. You need both trust and likability to succeed in business, friendship, and relationships. Trustworthiness is a key factor in determining an organization's credibility and reputation. The perception of trust is why people buy products, trust advice, and follow specific instructions. People need to be able to develop a level of confidence toward someone or something before they will agree to deal with them.
The most important thing in business is not the product or service that you offer, but making your customers like you. If people like you, they’ll listen to you, but if they trust you and find that they can relate to you, they’ll do business with you.
