Negotiation doesn’t mean saying yes to everything.

Someone reached out recently offering a commission-only role to help with lead generation for their wholesaling business.

Here’s the thing:
I respect the hustle, and I get that everyone’s at different stages in their business. But I’ve learned to be firm about what works for me.

I don’t take commission-only deals.
Why? Because wholesaling deals can take time to close. A lot of time. That means working upfront with no guarantee of pay for weeks (sometimes months), and I know the value I bring to the table is worth more than a “maybe someday” paycheck.

Instead, I offered my usual flat hourly rate with optional performance bonuses. Fair, flexible, and transparent.

He appreciated the honesty and said he’d reach out again in a month or two when his business is more stable. No hard feelings. That’s what a real, trust-based conversation looks like.

Moral of the story:
You don’t need to bend your standards to make a connection. You just need to communicate clearly, respectfully, and confidently. That’s how you build trust and protect your value.

Ito yung mga questions na dumudurog sa puso ko. Gusto ko lagi kayong kalaro. Gusto ko matulog katabi niyo and read your bedtime stories, pero mas gusto ko na maging maganda ang kinabukasan niyo. When you're juggling sa deadlines, bills, responsibilities as a wife, mom, and daughter. Nakakapagod! Nakakaiyak! Pero bilang nanay, kailangan mong maging matatag. Iiyak lang tayo sandali tapos lalaban na ulit.

Ang gusto lang ni nanay, maging maganda ang kinabukasan niyo. Lalaban kahit nakakapagod. Hindi madali, pero lalaban tayo sa buhay araw-araw para sa magandang kinabukasan niyo mga anak. ❤️

Budget and plan ahead for your travel and personal desires. ✈️💼

It’s perfectly fine to indulge occasionally in travel, a new bag, a dress, or makeup that you want. 💖👜 Don’t feel guilty about treating yourself to these “wants” every now and then. However, it’s important to maintain a balance with your finances. Prioritize saving to ensure that all of your family’s needs are met first. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💰

Consider using apps, spreadsheets, or a notebook to help you track and manage your finances. 📱📊 If you want to travel, make sure to plan ahead and save money for it. Personally, I sometimes buy luxury bags or go on vacation, but I ensure that I work extra hours to afford them and won't hurt our savings. 💪✨ This extra effort motivates me more. While my kids are my inspiration and I work hard for them, I also make sure to reward myself after all that hard work. 🎉

Take time to reward yourself with something that makes you happy. This can also help you avoid burnout. 😊🌟
