JRMSU shifts start of school to August
The Jose Rizal Memorial State University Board of Regents (BOR) approved the shifting of the start of the school year to August during their first quarter regular Board Meeting on March 19, 2015 at Lakewood Resort, Zamboanga del Sur.
The decision of the BOR to adapt the new schedule is in accordance to the ASEAN 2015 integration common space of the ASEAN Universities Network. The synchronization of the University’s academic calendar with the timetable of other universitys in ASEAN will give JRMSU an advantage of the opportunities posed by the ASEAN integration. It will provide students with mobility and ease of credit transfers. Moreover, it will also allow more foreign students to enroll in JRMSU.
Per BOR Resolution 13, series of 2015, the new start of classes will take effect beginning SY 2015-2016. First semester schedule will be on August to December, second semester will be on January to May and Summer classes will be on June to July. The registration for the first semester for SY 2015-2016 will start on July 2015.
