LANDBANK recognized as outstanding BSP partner

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Eli M. The Board of Trustees of Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) is pleased to announce the election of Rev. Fr. Randy Jasper C. Odchigue as the new president of the university, effective August 1, 2024. This decision reflects Fr. Randy's extensive academic background, exemplary leadership, and dedication, to the university’s mission and values.

Fr. Randy finished both his Master of Arts and Licentiate in Systematic Theology and Doctor of Philosophy in Systematic Theology at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Apart from his significant contributions to Research, he took on roles in different community involvement activities of the university, such as being the Overall In-Charge of the Annual Pre-Diaconal Exposure of the Diocese and a Convenor of the Mindanao Peace Studies Conferences starting in 2015. Notably, he has played a crucial role in establishing development centers such as the Bio-Diversity and Informatics Center (BIRC), the Data Science and Analytics Center, and Technology Business Incubation (TBI).

Tienda Caraga MSME Week Trade Fair kicks Off at SM City Butuan

Butuan, Philippines - Monday, July 22, 2024 - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Caraga officially launched the MSME Week at SM City Butuan, a week-long celebration aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

This year's theme, "Innovate to Elevate: Empowering MSMEs for Growth," sets the tone for a week filled with insightful events for the local business community. The DTI Caraga, in partnership with various stakeholders, has organized a series of activities designed to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth among MSMEs.

Featured in the fair are handmade crafts, delicacies, treats and local innovations that are displayed by vendors, artisans and entrepreneurs from Caraga Region.

SM CITY BUTUAN CONDUCTS JOINT TACTICAL INSPECTION

A joint tactical inspection was conducted at SM City Butuan today, July 12, 2024, at the North Car Park of the mall. The event was attended by top officials from the Butuan City Police Office and SM Executives.

Leading the inspection was Butuan City PCol. Marco Archinue, who was the guest speaker of the event. “SM City Butuan is a central part of our community” said PCol Archinue. “It Is where families come to shop, friends meet up and where people spend their precious time that is why we make sure that everyone who walks through the door is safe and sound” he added.
Also present were SM Executives – Assistant Vice President for Customer Relations Services, FRG - Mr. Victor Constantino G. Santiago; Mr. Rafael T. Tejada, AVP- OIC of CRS, SCMC; heads of CRS from SM Retail and the AVP for Mall Operations, Min1, Mr. Joey M. Tumolva to ensure the successful conduct of the activity.

The rites include the awarding of certificates of commendation to securities and maintenance personnel who displayed outstanding commitment, integrity and honesty in their service. One of the awardees, SG Mel Jhan Oplenia of Eparwa Security Service Agency Inc. was given recognition after returning a wallet containing 19,000php at the ground level.

The joint tactical inspection aimed to assess and strengthen the security measures and emergency response plans in place at SM City Butuan. The inspection also covered the review of the mall's security protocols, including access control, surveillance systems, and communication networks. The police officials and SM Executives also discussed ways to improve the overall security and safety of the mall, which is one of the busiest commercial centers in the city.

"We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our customers, employees, and stakeholders," said AVP for Min 1 Operations – Mr. Joey M. Tumolva.

The joint tactical inspection is part of the regular security assessments conducted by the Butuan City Police Office and SM City Butuan to ensure the safety and security of the mall and its patrons. After the said assembly, SM City Butuan ranked 1st in the Mindanao malls and 4th nationwide in the inspected malls as of July 12, 2024.
