FEATURE | Shining under the sun early morning rays of sunshine is the prestigious century-old university in Cebu, Cebu Normal University whose name has had a many changes since its inception more than a century ago.

Back in 1902, it was named as Cebu Normal School as one of the provincial normal schools established as branches of the Philippine Normal School.

When it was chartered as a state college in 1976, it was renamed to Cebu State College. Finally in 1998, it was then renamed to the name we popularly know today as Cebu Normal University.

OFFICE OF POWER

A mix of classic and vintage is the interior design theme of the prestigious Cebu Normal University's Office of the University President located within the Administration Building where the university president resides, works, and receives guest to perform his executive duty as the highest ranking official in the university.

Cabinets lined up with achievements, a working desk, a large table, the university logo, seal, and flag are some of the furnitures within the prestigious office that encapsulate the crimson and gold pride and identity.

CNU's current university president is Dr. Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., the university's 6th SUC President.

Donned in their bright orange uniforms, Cebu Normal University teaching interns from the College of Teacher Education line up in front of the Administration Building and to witness the Oath Taking Ceremony for new staff and officers of the university and one of the last weekly flag raising ceremony that they will attend as interns last Monday, December 04, 2023 in the morning.

It will be the second to the last flag ceremonies that they will attend as teaching interns as the end of the semester comes near.
