CALAMBA CITY, Laguna—The School of Nursing (SN) held their Special Intention Mass in preparation for the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination (PNLE) on the morning of the 7th of November at the St. Albert the Great Chapel.

The mass was led by Rev. Fr. Rambang Ngawan O.P., with an inspiring homily about manifesting our wishes and realizing our dreams not just by wanting them but through absolute effort and sheer will.

He also added that we must lead our lives like the saints before us, that no matter what, we must have goodwill in our hearts and to see hope in everything—referencing Jordan Peterson's "There are cathedrals everywhere for those with the eyes to see" and thus ending the mass by blessing the exam takers with God's grace as they brace for the upcoming examination.

Every day, countless children and adolescents experience trauma in a place considered as their second home, where safety and security should be a right every student has. Oftentimes, these evil acts are swept under the rug and dismissed to the dismay and utter destruction of its victims.

To shed light to those wounded and scarred by the unnecessary pains of bullying in schools, UNESCO declares the first Thursday of November as the International day against violence and bullying in school, including cyberbullying.

This day recognizes that school-related violence in all its forms is an infringement of children’s and adolescents’ rights to education and their health and well-being.

LITERARI | 𝙆𝙐𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝘼𝙆𝘼𝙋𝘼𝙂𝙎𝘼𝙎𝘼𝙇𝙄𝙏𝘼 𝙇𝘼𝙈𝘼𝙉𝙂 𝘼𝙉𝙂 𝙈𝙂𝘼 𝙋𝘼𝙎𝙄𝙇𝙔𝙊 𝙎𝘼 𝘾𝙊𝙇𝙀𝙂𝙄𝙊

“𝘈𝘯𝘰 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘰 𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘪𝘺𝘰?”
“𝘈𝘺 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘺𝘢 𝘰𝘩.”

As i settle onto your space under the light of the stars, I hear your voice.

I pace around in the recesses of my mind and make conversation with what i remember of you— cursed to hold on to fading traces and remnants as the trees sway and listen.

In a blink, you were gone.
But for me, it will be eternity of finding you in everyone.

To suffer the loss of the space you once occupied is the burden i'll gladly carry for what is grief, but love persevering?

I only hope as you watch down from above that you are not hurt by my pain; For the blurring of my eyes, the lump in my throat, and the hollowness of my chest caused by your nostalgia is only a great deal of love that has nowhere to go but you.

I only want nothing but for this hurt to stay if it means loving you until I get the privilege to be in your warmth, your embrace, once more.

And after it all, i would choose to go through it all again for you.

We honor and remember all the faithful souls who have been canonized by the Church who are with God. They, who placed their faith and trust in Jesus and were the proof that Jesus is all in us, lived a virtuous life in the name of our Savior.

Since May 609, the Church has been celebrating All Saints’ Day to celebrate and remind us of the sacrifice and kindness shown by each patron saint.

Today, we remember all Dominican Saints and our Filipino Saints, San Pedro Calungsod and San Lorenzo Ruiz.

May all our hearts be as pure and kind as theirs were here and as they are now in the Kingdom of God.
