The 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 (𝐌𝐉𝐒𝐓) is pleased to announce the online publication of Volume 22, Issue 1, 2024, featuring eight meticulously reviewed national and two international research works. Benguet State University (BSU), led by Ms. Cheryll C. Launio (Director for Research and Extension Publication Office), conducted a benchmark meeting with the Publication Office of the University of Science and Technology Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO) at the Founder’s Lounge, USTP CDO, Cagayan de Oro City, on December 12, 2023.

Among the topics discussed were the editorial processes and indexing of Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology (MJST). Some of MJST's best practices were also shared with the delegates from BSU.

The Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology (MJST) would like to inform all interested authors that paper submissions for possible inclusion in Issue 1, Volume 22 (2024) will be accepted until 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑 only. This is to allow sufficient time for the editorial office to process the overwhelming number of previously submitted papers.

The office will issue a separate advisory when paper submission reopens for Issue 2, Volume 22 (2024).

The Office of Publication of USTP CDO is thrilled to announce that the Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology (MJST), the official scientific journal of USTP, is still indexed in major databases, namely Scopus, Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), and the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) with increasing citations as of 2023.

With the addition of MJST Issue 1 of Volume 21 (2023), 120 scholarly articles from 2019 are now in the Scopus database owned by Elsevier. MJST has received 82 citations from other articles in the same database with a total Citescore of 0.7; it is ranked 104th among 134 journals under the multidisciplinary category.

This issue brings together a vast range of scrupulously selected works, written by local and international authors, in the fields of environmental science, natural language processing, mathematical sciences, image processing, mechanical engineering, microbiology, w**d science, entomology, horticulture, location science, and civil engineering. Two of the 12 accepted papers are from the two ASEAN neighboring countries, namely Thailand and Malaysia, while the remaining 10 papers are from the Philippines.

This issue highlights 12 manuscripts in various science-and-technology fields, namely hydraulics engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, postharvest technology, mathematical modeling, food science, w**d science, animal science, horticulture, and marine biology. Scholars from Indonesia, India, and Nigeria, aside from the Philippines, have contributed four manuscripts to this issue, thereby enriching the diversity of MJST authorship.

Look! MJST finally releases its first special issue.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) and the DOST - Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI) have inked an agreement to produce the first-ever special issue of Mindanao Journal of Science and Technology (MJST) on nuclear science and technology for the selected papers presented at the 2nd Philippine Nuclear Research and Development Conference. The conference was hosted virtually by the DOST-PNRI on December 8-10, 2020.

After the conference, interested presenters sent their papers to MJST for possible inclusion in the special issue. Only 17 papers – out of 27 submitted – successfully passed the double-blind peer-review and other editorial processes.

The stakeholders (i.e., authors, reviewers, funding agencies, USTP, and DOST-PNRI) are greatly appreciated for their active participation during the entire process, which resulted in the realization of this publication endeavor.
