President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte received high marks for approval and trust in a nationwide survey conducted by the RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD).

The RPMD's "Boses ng Bayan" survey, conducted from November 27 to December 2, revealed that 83% of respondents were satisfied with President Marcos' job performance. Eighty-one percent of those polled expressed approval of Vice President Duterte, who also serves as Education Secretary. The majority of respondents also gave the duo high trust ratings, with 87% of respondents expressing trust in Duterte and 87% in Marcos.

The performance and credibility of both officials were rated highly across all regions and socioeconomic classes. The satisfaction rating details of Marcos resulted in being highest in Mindanao with 87% and lowest in Metro Manila with 73%. While Duterte’s satisfaction rating illustrated highest in Mindanao with 98% and lowest in the region of Luzon with 70%.

Dr. Paul Martinez, Executive Director of RPMD, reports that Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. ranks first with the highest approval of 78% and 83% trust rating among Cabinet secretaries. Trailed by Secretary Ivan John Uy of the Department of Information and Communications (DICT) with approval of 74% and 89% trust rating, Secretary Amenah Pangandaman of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) with 73% approval and 67% trust rating, Secretary Susan Ople of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) with 71% approval and 68% trust rating, Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco of the Department of Tourism (DOT) with 70% approval rating and 65% trust rating on the fifth place.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. discussed several key issues with officials of the DTI Philippines and the Department of National Defense - Philippines during a meeting in Malacañang Palace today, November 29.

The DTI provided information on the proposed "green lane" for strategic investments, which is part of the Marcos administration's effort to make the Philippines more conducive to business opportunities.

The DND, on the other hand, discussed with the Commander-in-Chief the 10-point defense agenda aimed at improving the agency's capability to respond to various aspects of national security.

PHILIPPINE SENATE AND VIETNAM NATIONAL ASSEMBLY HOLD MILESTONE BILATERAL MEETING

On 23 November 2022, the Philippine Senate led by Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri together with 12 other Senators held a bilateral meeting with the National Assembly of Vietnam headed by its President, His Excellency Vuong Dinh Hue, at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. Zubiri highlighted the Philippines’ Strategic Partnership with Vietnam and the need for both countries to work closer together at a more comprehensive level. President Hue assured the Senate that Vietnam is ready to strengthen its support to the Philippines, especially in maritime security and defense, climate action and disaster management, agriculture and fishing, as well as in trade and investment. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to address common challenges in the region and further collaborate and strengthen parliamentary dialogue and exchanges between the Philippines and Vietnam. In a meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council’s (PSAC) healthcare cluster, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. suggested offering scholarships to Filipino nurses to encourage service in the country and their respective communities before pursuing a career abroad.

The Department of Health (Philippines) had started discussions with the deans of the University of the Philippines and other related healthcare providers to put up a “ladderized” scholarship program. The DOH and the Department of Migrant Workers are also working together to find financing for scholarship and exchange programs with foreign governments needing healthcare professionals.
