A resounding triumph and vibrant celebration of the Kan-adang Festival at the Brgy. Candadam Gym, last night, May 12, 2024 – Sunday, which was competed by six sitios with the full support of Brgy. Chairman, Honorable Jules Lucas C. Cari, and officials.

The competition at 9:00 P.M. started with a prayer led by Rev. Father Shaun Alino and was formally opened by their SK Chairperson, Honorable Bench Wally V. Cunanan.

Hon. Jules Lucas C. Cari also delivered his message in which he assured the people of his full support. Present as well in the competition was City Councilor Hon. Carmen L. Cari who gave her inspirational message.

The new Kan-adang Jingle was also launched with a dance and was performed by all the contingents together with the board of judges and SK officials.

Six contingents competed for the title. Different stories and interpretations of the theme were presented in front of an expert panel of judges composed of a seasoned show director, cultural manager, and choreographer. All contingents prepared their performances well which brought a night full of entertainment and excitement.

After the grand showdown, Sitio Crossing bagged both the Grand Prize for the Grand Showdown as well as the Festival Queen Showdown.

The competition was witnessed by hundreds of people not just from Candadam but also from other neighboring barangays of Baybay City.

The Alikaraw Festival of Hilongos, Leyte, held on December 28th, was a resounding success, captivating thousands of spectators from Hilongos and neighboring municipalities. The vibrant competition featured eight impressive contingents vying for the coveted grand prize, with each group skillfully presenting their prowess, narratives, cultural heritage, and a mastery of visual color composition.
