WHO IS HON.MIKI KAEOK?

The new Finance Ministery portfolio has been given to MP for Wapenamanda Hon Miki Kaeok. Who Miki Kaeok then? Miki Kaeok heils from Lowerlai area of Wapenamanda district in Enga Province. Many of his political rivalries tag him as "kanakae" and "ATM masin" for being uneducated and dishing out cash to his supporters and voters during his term as MP for Wapenamanda (2002-2012). Mr Kaeok completed his grade 10 at St Paul's Pausa High School in Wapenamanda in 1988. He couldn't make it to a tertiary institution from gr10. Former MP Masket Iangalio (his uncle), who was the Civil Aviation Minister, then, gave him a casual job at airport tarmac at Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby in 1991. However, he left his job after Mr. Iangalio lost his ministry in a reshuffle. From there on, Miki Kaeok lived his private lives without any formal employment until he contested Wapenamanda Open and unseated Masket Iangalio in 2002. Congratulations to Hon. Miki Kaeok, who has now been appointed the Finance Minister of Papua New Guinea. Its a tremendous achievement for his political and personal life.

However, his appointment to this highest ministerial portfolio sounds fishy. PM James Marape had a hidden motive. And that is for nothing good but to use MK as a robort and rubber stamp just for STEALING more and more. His appointment is nothing more of Tambul MP Win Bakri Daki, a bus driver cm politician who was appointed as Defence Minister just to sign PNG-US Defence Corporation Agreement (DCA).

Dark Clouds Forming. It will rain soon in our dried up land.

Reinbo Paita was young when he created that opening for James Marape to take Pangu leadership and become PM. Reinbo is matured in politics. He had a plan and it is unfolding.

William Powi is a power broker, the corner post of once a powerful PNC Party. A man who sees no mountains too high or valleys too deep when he makes a decision.

And PO is a visionary leader, a planner. See how developments in his districts are still happening even though his district is being cornered and financially strangled.

They are not alone. MPs on both sides know their Value. It will rain!

Media Statement

30th June 2024

_Approved for Immediate Release_

*O’Neill: Ok Tedi Mine is for the People not for Politicians*

“Very worryingly, Ok Tedi Mine has apparently amassed over K800 million in corporate debt as it grapples with meeting the demands of Government,” said the Member for Ialibu-Pangia and former Prime Minister, Honourable Peter O’Neill.

“In 2013, Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML) was transferred into ownership of the State of Papua New Guinea and the people of Western Province in recognition of the need to ensure benefits from the mine went to the people most impacted. The people of Western Province were severely lagging on almost all development indicators despite decades of hosting the behemoth mine and decades of the failed efforts of the offshore controlled PNG Sustainable Development Program (PNGSDP).

“Despite the best intentions of many, the people of Western Province were losing out and my government felt enough was enough and undertook the transition of mine ownership to the people of the Western Province.”

“In the last five years OTML has been used like a milking cow as the Marape government extracts money out of OTML to prop up his lavish spending habits.”

“In 2021, OTML publicly stated they were debt free. How can it just three years later, have amassed an apparent K800 million in debt? Is OTML borrowing at commercial interest rates and simultaneously, being asked by government to pay big dividends each year?”

According to their official news page, dividends of K1.2 billion have been paid since 2021:
2021 K450 million
2022 K300 million
2023 K450 million

Just this week, OTML, stepped into the fray and supplied JetA1 aviation fuel when the Government failed to secure supply.

“While it is terrific OTML can jump to the rescue of this woeful regime, the mine should not be used by Marape this way but instead stay singularly focused on operating and developing the mine and serving the people of Western Province.”

“To hear that the min

Order 4, Rule 25 of the Court Rules gives the interveners 14 days to serve their statements in response to the substantive case.

Justice Hartshorn this morning shortened that period.

The judge said he would meet the parties halfway and ordered that the Interveners have until Thursday 11 July to file and serve their response — and on being served, the Opposition Leader has until Thursday 18 July (the following week) to file his reply. The case returns on Friday 19 July for further directions.

The Opposition, Douglas Tomuriesa said, remains committed to Court rules and processes, and will maintain its mandated duties outside the court house.

Prime Minister James Marape Must Bow in Shame and Step Down.

Fiddling around with public service machineries pay throughout the country is a lack of discipline and responsibility by this reckless PMJM.

Recently PMJM obtained a soft loan of k1.2 billion for quick recovery has disappeared in thin air unaccounted. It seems that in per year from 2019 to 2024, PMJM seems to obtain soft loans up to 15 times amounted to K60 billions recklessly spent without any impact projects.

This government is insane and why do people expect to see changes when you're doing nothing but crying for prices of goods and services rising every day. Wake up and demand your Prime minister James Marape to step down before this country collapse permanently.

Politicians aren't experts to manage the economy and only fools can believe this lie...The real experts who can enforce the monetary and macro economic policy fundamentals are the bureaucracy and key economic and regulatory authorities.... Numerous governments have been passing and duplicating laws since independence but failed miserably to even implement one effectively..

We only know what the government of today can do and that is to get to parliament and make a mockery out of standing orders and shout at each other while people are facing the real economic pain... Enough said..😒😒😒

Ling-Stuckey commits to get economy back on track.

Tuesday, June 25, 2024

THE re-appointed Treasurer, Ian Ling-Stuckey (pictured), is committed to get the country’s economy back on track going forward.

He made this remark when welcoming the Marape-Rosso Government’s decision to re-appoint him to take charge of the treasury portfolio.

“On behalf of my people of Kavieng, and the Pangu Pati, I welcome my re-appointment as Treasurer as well as Acting Minister for Finance,” Ling-Stuckey said.

He said Prime Minister James Marape has made it clear of what is expected from the treasury ministry, which he needs to concentrate on going forward

“Looking forward, the Prime Minister has made clear his expectations in this role,” Ling-Stuckey said.

“In broad terms, I am re-committed to ensuring we get the economy working better for our people,” he said.

“As I travel around my remote rural island electorate, talking to community and business leaders including other Members of Parliament, I do understand the struggles that are facing our people.

“In the Australian Ministerial Forum last Wednesday, I highlighted that PNG still had some of the worst economic and social indicators in the region.

“In discussions with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) the day after, we discussed how PNG’s development had lagged well behind those of other countries in our region.

“This was a focus of a recent World Bank seminar held in Mt Hagen on 30 May for jobs and growth with other Ministers, all highlighting how much better governments had to do.

“Our people have every right to feel frustrated at the lack of gains since Independence.”

The Treasurer said key priorities moving forward towards the 2025 Budget will be work to establish a four-year foreign exchange repair plan.

“We will develop this in coordination with our economic ministries and other key international partners.

“We will redouble our focus on creating more and better jobs.

“We will take further actions to deal with cost-of-living pressures facing families, as the need arises.

“We will work to improve transparency on our budget operations.

“The role of Treasury Minister is a demanding responsibility, and I will again, dedicate myself to making sure that our recent macroeconomic gains are translated into better gains for our people.

“This will require hard work from us all.”

When people are silent, sleeping away, evil flourishes. Why aren't people in Port Moresby, Lae, Goroka, Hagen, and all centers of PNG boldly demand PMJM and Ian Link Stucky to resign? PMJM incompetence and reckless mismanagement of economic, budget, and funds are direct results of cash crisis, fuel crisis, tribal crisis, economic crisis, and leadership crisis.

To all 17 million citizens of PNG, if you're still sleeping, your wife, sisters, and family will be sold away. Prices of food like a 10kg rice bag will rise to k100, a tin of fish to k20, a soap k5, and such buying power will definitely diminish.

This is a time to demand your your PM James Marape to step down or resign. Demand all your MPs to move out of the PMJM government and immediately change the government with the number on the 3rd September VoNC.

*PMJM will lose power eventually on VONC*

If anyone asks me: “how are you seeing things in this VONC 2024?”

PMJM is trapped by Nature now in this VONC.

1. PMJM fears his own 77 MPs in Government camp thinking that if the VONC is tabled at the floor, mass breakout of numbers to Opposition and government will change there and then. So, PMJM will not risk it and therefore will continue to avoid, delay and prolong this VONC until September 2024 and even into February 2025.

2. By extending and prolonging VONC from 2024 to 2025 will make everyone impatient, weary, restless, angry, rebellious both within his own Government camp and Opposition as well as general public and therefore pressure will build up to climax and burst; PMJM being forced to resign or Government team will break up and new government will be formed.

Either way the PMJM is now trapped by his own making by nature. He could have walked over 20 MPs of Opposition then with 84 MPs on his side in February 2024 during first VONC motion. He panicked and delayed and extended until now and into the known future. He will lose sooner or later. It’s only a matter of time. His own mind is telling him that it’s going to be over soon.

Anyone thinking that PMJM will resign is only fantasising. The guy is stubborn, ignorant, arrogant, and blunt. He will not resign until he is removed from power in the battle field (floor of parliament).

That’s my view and you have yours. All the best PNG!

Thank you 🙏

Samson Komati

Politics is liquid in PNG, and you don't expect the same story from yesterday. Yesterday was different, and today's story could develop to unexpected events later to newer story for tomorrow. Both RP and WD could make way for a new emerging figure in near future.

PNG CAN COUNT MONEY BUT NOT PEOPLE!!!

They must have lied on tv, print n social media. Richard Masere the Minister must have lied.

Because he said K150 million was budgeted and K100 million released to date (2 days ago when emtv news aired).

He said K17 million was paid for 22,000 tablets. In the video footage shown the tablets were brought in-country and configured for use. I actually saw PNG locals doing this in the footage unless they went to India to do this.

But for me here're our shortfalls:
a) we never prepare and consider all possible issues n impediments to any major undertakings;
b) we hardly use the best people n assign almost everything to our public service entities that we know can't n don't know what to do because the only thing they know is how soon every fortnight can arrive bringing a salary for which they've never worked (therefore are public thieves);
C) we're always doing the least expensive work with the highest cost possible incurred and much of the high costs go back to those who steal their salary.

Look, I am just sitting here in Newtown Maprik waiting to be counted n it's now the 4th day with another 10 or so days to go b4 the census ends.

I fear I may not be counted and therefore no numerical me. Yet the funds to count me was released so that after I'm counted my due is included every time government budgets for Maprik district the toea to develop me, to make my life easier and happier is included.

Every 10 years I've waited for this to happen and finally it's arrived, yet still coming!!!

I'll never be counted for who I am and deserve in this hell forsaken country. I'm a nonentity in my own country. Lucky I'm not a number...

This teenager girl was hit by a speeding vehicle this morning( 10am) while she was crossing the main road at Gordons and sustained severe skull fracture and subsequently bleed internally in the brain, causing her death. When I see her bleeding heavily and lying helplessly on the road side, I quickly picked her up and rushed her to the POMGen Emergency room with a heart to save her life but eventually she passed on while under brief medical care due to severe internal bleeding and brain damages.

I appeal to the owner or driver of the vehicle( reported as white land cruiser , 10 seater) that ran over this teenager girl causing her death, to owned up and surrender to the Police to lay charges. The incident happened at Gordons main road, next to the Kakaruk/Chicken Market.

Alternate Prime Minister of PNG, Hon Renbo Paita MP has registered a new political party in which to affiliate all his 16 MPs. Currently the largest party in the Opposition after People’s National Congress and others, Paita broke ranks with ruling Pangu and Coalition Government by bringing across some 20 MPs of which some returned to Government camp decreasing the the numbers to now 16 MPs and expecting more to join. Congratulations to Paita, a bold and brave politician and a rising star in the political game amongst the oldies and seasoned. Wishing you all the best ahead in your carrier in this term of Parliament. Thank you. Samson Komati
