“Initially, I didn’t have any symptoms... I went under for a colonoscopy and unfortunately found a mutation. My cancer was terminal.”
Aimee Rose was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer at only 28 years old. We shared her story a few weeks ago, and the fact she was taking part in Southern Cross Round The Bays with her best friend, Steph Jackson-Young.
The pair met in 2017 and bonded quickly – having the same birthday, the same brand of humour, and the shared tragedy of losing their mums at young ages. “She’s been there when I’ve been lying on the floor, crying my eyes out, and she’s been able to come over and literally pick me up off the floor.”
Fast-forward 8 months from Aimee Rose's diagnosis, the best friends completed the challenge side by side representing our charity - and raising almost $4,000.
We are so humbled and appreciative of the support, you are truly inspirational - thank you so much. 💜
