📣📣BREAKING NEWS: CRASH ALERT📣📣

Multiple people have been injured in a crash on a rural east Auckland road.

The crash on Whitford-Maraetai Road in Beachlands was reported to police at about 6.30am today, Monday.

Police say early information is that some of the people in the vehicles involved were critically injured.

"A section of the road is blocked while emergency services respond to the scene and diversions are in place," police say.

"Motorists are advised to expect delays if travelling in the area."

The police’s serious crash unit has been notified.
