The First Years, Ngā Tau Tuatahi is a New Zealand based journal focused on infant and toddler education and care. It is published by the early childhood team at the University of Auckland's Faculty of Education and Social Work.

The editors collective is working hard behind the scenes to bring you the next issue of The First Years Journal. All the articles are in and the proofreading process is nearly complete. The next step is to send the draft to marketing for formatting, then we'll be able to hit the "publish" button. We're aiming to do this within the month. Stay tuned!

Kia ora koutou

One of the articles in progress for the next issue of the First Years Journal focuses on teachers' use of mobile phones; why and how teachers are using them, the pros, cons, and ethical considerations. We are looking for 1-2 additional sector voices to share their experiences. If you work as part of an infants and toddlers team in which teachers regularly use mobile phones and would like the opportunity to reflect and be part of this article, please contact Tamar Weisz-Koves at [email protected]
