Hello Elena! 👋 A full-time #stainedglass designer and maker, @hello.elena is filling homes with her stained glass pieces one at a time. She used to work installing large, complex designs, but her mission is now to create pieces that easily enter the home – “independent, delicate, and unpretentious”.

In the feature, I asked Kate what her advice to other makers is. Here’s what she had to say...
* Trust your heart. When things don’t feel right, they often aren’t. 💗
* Find the thing that makes your heart sing and do that! Easier said than done, I know, but you don’t have to follow the crowd. Most days you’ll doubt yourself in some way, but push through regardless. You’re usually only fighting a battle in your own head. 🙌
* Show your true authentic self and make an effort to connect with others. 🙋♀️
* Fight for happiness, you only get one go at life!

I have a very special announcement to make… a PRINT edition of The Maker’s Story is on its way! 😁👏
This is something I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time, and with today being the website’s first birthday it seems fitting to let you all in on this project 🥳
Over the last 12 months, more than 60 talented makers have been featured (some of which feature in this video). And now there is an incredible line-up of makers from across the world that will be featuring in this print edition, as well as some lovely contributors who will be sharing their thoughts between the pages (you all know who you are!). It will be something to sit on your studio desk to inspire you, to cosy up on the couch with a cup of tea and flick through the pages, something to share with your friends and family.
I am very, very busy working behind the scenes to bring this to you all soon. And I’d love to involve everybody! 👇
So I am inviting all makers out there to put forward an artwork/creation that they feel is worthy of being on the front cover… All you need to do is tag @the.makers.story in your creation by August 31 to be considered! If there are enough submissions, all will be featured on the inside pages.
