Reach is dead, Engagement is down.
Let me ask you this, have you noticed your reach dropping in the last 3-4 months?
Your posts don’t seem to be performing as well and having to do A LOT more just to get the same results, right?
Now, let me ask you this… are you splitting your time effectively or do you just think Instagram will be around forever?
No doubt that Instagram had (and is having) a great run. But, if you study history, you’ll see that social networks peak and then Engagement and Reach start to drop as advertisements become more integrated.
To protect my personal brand, I illustrated how I’m splitting my time on growing my personal brand through social.
Not to get too complicated with it, but I use a 70/30 split, with the majority going to Instagram, some going to TikTok, and then I experiment with other platforms (YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn to name a few).
This diversification will give me a leg up on the competition if/when platforms fade away.
Keep in mind, this split will change as technology changes and new platforms get introduced.
Here’s a platform to keep an eye on:
BYTE () - The founders of Vine just launched this incredible platform bringing back the 6-second video.
How are you splitting your time?
