A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came by the merch stand at Beyond the Gates last week(end)! It was truly a ride to remember! Despite the tremendous work load for everyone, we still managed to catch shows, catch up with friends and foes, and enjoy every day to the max. A total of 25 hours driving, no less than loading and unloading the merch car 7 times, and working 15+ hours a day for a week makes Ole a dull buy.

As always a huge thanks to Torgrim and Silje and the rest of Beyond The Gates! An honor to have a small role in this machinery! And of course the bands and friends whom I take pride in knowing and releasing who all came and performed some of their best shows ever! Too many to mention but you know who you are. Also might I add I am sorry for not having time for everyone, it’s simply just too busy and overwhelming.

And lastly; a standing ovation to every Black Metal incels dream: Christel, who helped run the merch stand with her iron will, dreamy eyes and spiteful humor. She surely fell from heaven but I’m not sure they want her back!

See you all next year! Unless you come to Caerimonia Nidrosiae pt. III of course!

BATHORY HORDES: HEED THE CALL!

In a matter of days, V. Einride and K.R. will both perform at the upcoming BATHORY tribute at Beyond the Gates! The festival writes;

“2024 marks 20 years since the passing of Thomas ‘Quorthon’ Forsberg. Quorthon is widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians and composers in the world of extreme metal. It’s safe to say that Black Metal as we know it today would never have been the same without the music of Bathory. The trademark riffing, the production and all over aesthetic is omnipresent in all the bands that has later made their mark on the genre.

On the final day of Beyond the Gates 2024 a massive line-up featuring members and ex-members from bands like Aura Noir, Bathory, Darvaza, Emperor, Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Mayhem, Primordial, Satyricon, Watain and Whoredom Rife will gather in Grieghallen to pay tribute to Quorthon’s legacy and the music of Bathory.

BYTHOS - Chthonic Gates Unveiled has been out for a while now! What’s the judgement? Fantastic release, through and through.

And while I got your attention: the VÁN RECORDS webshop is closed for the time being to catch up on orders as they’re still dealing with the recent releases. Orders are packed and shipped on a daily basis and I see many are getting their orders out there. I hope it was worth the wait!

Lastly; it’s summer. Vacations are upon us and things are slow, so it’s time for a time-out. Updates will be scarce until BEYOND THE GATES takes place in Bergen come August. TERRATUR POSSESSIONS will of course be there with merch, records, insults and bells on, so see YOU there!

Death Like Mass on repeat today, definitively a band that separates the sheep from the goats. They make me wanna start a cult and go on a murder spree.

The upcoming album has frustratingly enough been at press for over a year with no end in sight, but fingers crossed for some news soon.

Not for fans of weak, modern, polished Black Turd Metal.

As you all know the album was released on May 31st, and the feedback for the album has been astronomically positive and responsive. We are all quite humbled by the amount of energy we've received from various reviewers, fans of the music, and other musicians alike. However, none of this would be possible without acknowledging Terratur Possessions and how much work he's put into promoting the album and band.

The Whispering Darkness -Tales from the Underground nailed it with this Nachtheem review;

"To me, this EP feels like a direct homage, or daresay, somewhat of a spiritual follow-up to Vemod’s ‘Venter på Stormene’. That comparison by itself is a splendid achievement, worthy of recognition. PRODUCTION DELAY!
A Ván Records and Terratur Possessions statement;

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the vinyl press has met some challenges to meet our deadlines, meaning the Whoredom Rife vinyl version of ‘Den Vrede Makt’ is unfortunately delayed with approx 2 weeks.

We apologize for these issues. This means a 2 week delay in sending out orders with this particular LP release.
The CD format is not affected and is currently shipping as planned. For those who ordered the other recent releases and merch, you will get what you ordered any day now.
NOTE: the orders containing ‘Den Vrede Makt’ vinyl will not be shipped until we have the LP in stock.

The digital platforms will offer the album upcoming Friday so there’s some comfort in that. Rest assured it will be worth the wait.
