ABOUT
I'm a documentary filmmaker and cinematographer. My films are detailed and intimate observations of people in a specific place, which is unknown to me. I like to tell story's visually, more then creating a narrative based on text. I try to create an experience of what I see and what touches me. Small gestures and expressions tell me more then words. Especially in a world where our thinking is dominant, I am interested in experiencing things with our body and senses. Focusing on people their physical and emotional experiences. Like in my film ‘Cocoon’ which shows a sensitive side of young boxers preparing for a match. Or in my last film ‘MET ALLES WAT ER IS’ (International title: ‘Dancers’) about people with Parkinson disease who take up the challenge to dance. Both films had their premiere at the Dutch Film Festival and where shown on Dutch television.
I shoot my own films and I work as a cinematographer. Besides I coach students and other film makers.
