We were tasked with creating an audio and sonic branding campaign that would capture the excitement and grandeur of this incredible event. Our approach focused on using tension and emotion to create a cinematic experience that would engage and captivate the audience.
Rather than relying on EDM beats, we drew inspiration from pit stop sounds, cinematic trailers and used a big major D chord as the sound logo. This chord captures the feeling of something bigger than yourself, just like the event itself.
We are thrilled with the results and the feedback we have received. We are excited to announce our latest endeavor - A trailer for the Wilson Airless Prototype basketball. This film was premiered during the 2023 NBA Dunk Contest and showcases the stunning visuals created by Woodwork . The film is comprised of two distinct sections - the buildup leading up to the unveiling of the new ball, followed by NBA player K.J. Martin's interaction with it.
The music and sound design were crafted using a unique amalgamation of sound sources, including samples of sand, helicopters, gravel, dirt, hard disc's, Moog synth bases and acoustic drums.
Additionally, we had the privilege of collaborating with the remarkably skilled rapper and artist Aristoteles, further enhancing the overall quality of the production.

@woodworkamsterdam asked us to work on the audio of their fresh new animation of adidas’ triple black collection! 🖤
We started by exploring with human vocals and drums. Started resampling and resampling, and ended up big organic drums combined with electronic instruments and emotional chords to guide you trough the journey of the triple black universe.
Every product got its own musical key, and product after product the sound is getting higher and more emotional until working towards the end and keep the excitement going. Rhythmic ASMR sounds are used to give you the feeling of being close by the products and connects the music more deeply to the animation.

#ThrowbackThursday. Contemporary. Dynamic. Unique: Cluse is one of the fasted growing brands in the watch industry. Therefore we were very humbled when the company asked us to put some hours into their music.
We've created a bespoke composition that's upbeat, minimalistic and encouraging - just like the brand itself. The song and sound reflect the ambition of the watch owners and the company itself. All in all a nice project to look back on.

For their newest campaign, Jantje Beton wanted an authentic sounding vintage record but due to a tight deadline couldn't get the sync in time. That's when we stepped in: within one day we created three types of close harmony jazz compositions (together with the lovely Amber Gomaa), and director Boris Booij chose this tune for the 'Jantje Beton' TVC.
Music licensing can be a tough cookie to crack, but as THNDR we will fix it in any way possible WITH a tight deadline. 🚀

How do we make youngsters aware of the arising importance of donating stem cells? By working on an empowering campaign with a group of dedicated creatives that know how to reach them.
Together with Boris Booij from CZAR we've worked on Stichting Matchis - 'De Match Van Je Leven' (The Match Of Your Life). We've created an energetic drum drive composition that inspires GenYZ to act. And our inspiration? We've used influences from Yellow Claw and Tiger Rhythm, and of course put that unique THNDR specialty sauce on top of it to make it stand out, give the composition a voice to remember and connect with the audience.

🚲 Koga is an international bike brand that builds high quality bikes by hand since 1974. Sebastiaan Smink asked us to help with the creation of a cinematic piece about a sophisticated brand.
Together with Sebastiaan we wanted to create an immersive experience audio-wise. Following an extensive brainstorm, we ended up using minimal musical indie electronic beats for a solid base for the open shots and nature, and used cinematic sounds fragmented by stops to emphasize the durability of the brand and its premium feel.

For Intersport's campaign 'Take it Epic' or 'Take It Easy' we've created a composition that feeds the viewer the urge to travel ⛰️ (oh and how we cannot wait to travel again!).
We've delivered a song with two layers: an epic and an easy one, that fit each other like a glove. As a base we've used a dreamy sound scape as the base of the song to give it a thriving yet grounding feel. Are you dreaming of your next destination yet?

adidas wanted an engaging song that oozes the warmth and happiness of motherhood🤱.
We've used the piano as our main instrument, because of its never ending warmth and harmony. We put a subtle beat underneath it to give the entire song energy and make it more uplifting. Thanks to little details such as the bells and the high notes in our piano melodies, the song has the right loving vibe it should have. Happy Mother's Day!

New work for PROCENTEC
A bespoke composition that is starting to sound like their brand sound? That's what happened on the job for PROCENTEC! The company was really happy with the sounds for their first virtual product launch for Atlas 2 and asked us if we could reuse the epic synthesizer heaven with slow beats and melancholic melodies and turn it into something new. No problem!
We've created another track for their virtual event, yet again with a slice of Moderat, a hint of Mad Zach and Kidnap: a futuristic and industrial song that fits the industrial and futuristic products the company puts out.
