**Announcement: Commencement of Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition Practical Program**

The Standing Committee on Students Skills and Entrepreneurship Program is excited to announce the commencement of our Practical Entrepreneurial Skills Acquisition Program today, Monday 22nd April 2024. This program aims to equip our 2022/2023 graduating students (both NDII and HNDII) with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the dynamic world of entrepreneurship as well as to ensure minimum NBTE requirements are attain.

**Schedule:**

- **10-11 am**: Induction Session for registered students only.
- *Location* :
1. Twin Theater near *Academic Planning: SET, SES, SLS, SAS & SVT Students*
2. *Lecture Theatre: SMS Students*

- During this session, there will be a brief explanation of the program and an overview of the trades involved. Also guidance on what you should and should not expect from the program will be provided.

ADMISSION INTO ND AND HND UPGRADE PROGRAMMME

Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, Kaduna State invites applications for 2023/2024 Academic Session from holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) who wish to upgrade their low-grade Certificates.

The aims of the Programme are:
1. To provide an opportunity for students to upgrade the status of their low-grade of Diploma to a better grade,
2. To give students an opportunity of gaining admission for further studies in institutions where Lower Grade Diplomas are not considered for admission; and
3. To provide a better competitive employment opportunity.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
a. Minimum of five (5) Credits in O/level examinations with credit pass in Mathematics and English Language.
b. Obtain ND or HND Certificate from a recognized institution with a minimum of Pass grade.
c. NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate where applicable.
d. Holders of Diploma from other institutions are required to present their Academic Transcript.

DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The programme will be one (1) Academic Session i.e. two (2) semesters.

LECTURE/CONTACT PERIOD
Lectures will run on Part-time basis i.e. Fridays and Saturdays

REGISTRATION MODALITIES
Modalities for Registration will be on the Letter for Notification for Admission.

His presence and participation in breaking fast with us on the school premises meant alot. It was indeed a memorable and joyous occasion for all of us.

Let me once again use this medium to appreciate his unwavering dedication, commitment to justice and fairness, and constant support for the welfare and well-being of the students which are really commendable. We are deeply grateful for his continuous efforts in ensuring that our needs are met and that we feel valued and supported within the institution.

I received a Courtesy call from the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) JCC Kaduna Axis at my school during their visit we discussed the challenges our school are facing

we highlighted several pressing issues that continue to adversely affect the student body, including:

1. Lack of access to clean water
2. Dilapidated hostels
3. Lack of practical materials
4. Deteriorating ceilings and roofs in hostels
5. Issues with examinations and pending results for various semesters
And more.

Despite our efforts to raise these concerns with the school management, we have not received a satisfactory response. Additionally, our appeals to higher authorities, including the state government, have not yielded the desired outcome.

I personally took them around the campus to witness the challenges firsthand. We urgently appeal for the assistance of NANS JCC Chairman in amplifying our voices and channeling our grievances to the appropriate channels. The welfare and well-being of the students are at stake, and immediate action is needed to address these challenges.

We humbly request any intervention to ensure that our concerns are heard and addressed by the relevant authorities. Your support in advocating for the resolution of these issues will greatly benefit the entire student community and contribute to the improvement of our learning environment.

Invitation to Inter-School Male and Female Football Competition

We are excited to announce the upcoming Inter-School *Male* and *Female* Football Competition, proudly tagged "SUG CUP," which will be hosted at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria. This event promises to be a thrilling display of talent and sportsmanship, and we invite all schools within the polytechnic to participate.

Details of the competition are as follows:

Date: Starting on, 6th March 2024
Venue: Main Campus

Conditions for Participation:

1. Each school is required to field a team of 18 female players and 20 male players.

2. A participation fee of #4000 is to be paid by each department in every school.

3. Players must be students of the respective schools and cannot be recruited from outside.

4. Only players with active registration numbers will be eligible to participate.

5. All teams must play with a designated jersey.

We encourage all schools to prepare their teams and participate in this exciting competition. Let us come together to showcase our talent, unity, and sportsmanship on the football field.

Unfortunately, despite our diligent efforts, we were unable to secure the desired office space as initially planned. The space we had hoped to acquire has been allocated to another program within the school.

However, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to both of you for your unwavering commitment and support throughout this process. Your dedication to the welfare and well-being of the student body has been evident, and we are truly grateful for your continuous assistance and guidance.

Although we have encountered a setback in our relocation efforts, we remain optimistic and determined to find a suitable alternative for the SUG office. We are confident that with your ongoing support, we will eventually secure a space that meets the needs of our students and facilitates effective governance.

Students union Government SUG under my leadership, we have undertaken several welfare initiatives and renovations aimed at enhancing the well-being and comfort of our students.

Today, we took proactive steps to address the issue of mosquitos and other harmful insect and snacks medicine infestations in both the female and male hostels by conducting a thorough spraying of insecticide. Ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment for our students is paramount, and this initiative is a testament to our commitment to your health and safety.

Additionally, we have initiated renovation efforts in the female hostels, including the installation of new sockets, lighting bulbs, and other necessary repairs. These enhancements aim to improve the overall quality of accommodation for our students and create a conducive learning environment.

As your elected representatives, it is our duty to prioritize your welfare and work tirelessly to address any challenges you may face. As the President of the Students Union Government (SUG), it is my duty to advocate for the welfare and well-being of our student body, and unfortunately, we find ourselves in a dire situation.

During a recent visit to the Kaduna state Government House, I took the opportunity to submit a letter and present a demonstration highlighting the current challenges our institute is facing. I included pictures depicting the deplorable state of our school hostels, where roofing and ceilings have collapsed, posing serious safety hazards to our students, environmental hazards such as unchecked growth of vegetation and debris are rampant, and access to clean water is severely limited. Additionally, the absence of assured school ID cards has left our students vulnerable to harassment both within and outside the school premises.

Despite our repeated appeals to the school management, we have been met with the response that the institution lacks the financial resources to address these critical issues. Faced with no alternative, we have turned to the state government for assistance, humbly appealing for they intervention.

We have the utmost confidence in the leadership of our Governor and his commitment to the welfare of the people of Kaduna State. His reputation as a digital governor, known for his integrity, honesty, and compassion, precedes him. We believe that with his support, our cries for help will not go unheard, and the necessary steps will be taken to alleviate the suffering of our students.

Governor Senator Malam Uba Sani , we implore you to lend your assistance to Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic zaria, ensuring that our students have access to safe and conducive learning environments. Your intervention would bring immense relief to our community and uphold your esteemed reputation as a leader who cares deeply for the well-being of all Kaduna State residents.

This is to inform the general public and our prospective HND applicants that applications for *ALL HND programs* are now through the NBTE portal.
Interested applicants should follow the following steps and apply:

1. Applicants
should
login to the NBTE HND admissions portal

2. Click on “Register as a student” fill out the form and click on register.

3. Upload the following credentials:
✓Profile Photo
✓Visit the “my account” tab and upload the following.
✓Any National ID proof (NIN, Voters Card, International Passport or Driver's
License
✓ND Statement of Result
✓ND Graduation Certificate.

4. To submit the application: Visit the “applications” tab and select “new application”
menu and do as follows;

✓Select the Course from the list: Based on your ND, it will display the number of
Institutions and select Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic.

✓Click on “Apply”. The next page will display the Name of the Institution you have picked, the course you selected the Form fees, and so on.

✓Final Submission of Interest: the next step is to provisionally submit your application.

5. Payment of Form Fees: visit the “applications” tab from which you select “my
applications” menu and proceed as follows,

✓Select the application you wish to pay for and click the pay form fee button.
✓Select any payment option and proceed to make a payment of *Five Thousand (5,000:00) naira only.*

6. Offer of Admission: Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic will review your application and issue an admission offer letter via the NBTE portal which you can download and print and proceed with the other registration processes.
