Silence on the Inauguration of the 8th Abia House of Assembly: Attempts to subvert democracy in Abia State

A few days ago, the life of the 7th Abia State House of Assembly came to a glorious end with a valedictory session led by the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji. That done, Abians expected before now that the State governor, Dr. Alex Otti would follow the constitutionally outlined procedure of breathing life into State House of Assembly by issuing a Proclamation that would convene members-elect of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly for their first session and subsequent election of their presiding and principal officers.

Unfortunately, that has not happened and Abians are curious to know the cause of the delay and the deafening silence on the part of the governor, more especially as other States including the National Assembly have all been inaugurated and presiding officers elected. This development is worrisome because our system of government operates on a tripod of the executive, legislature and judiciary with each serving as a check on the probable misuse of power by another.

More worrisome is the fact that Abia PDP has very credible and reliable intelligence that the governor, Dr. Alex Otti and the Labour Party are working behind the scene to issue a silent proclamation in a few days time and in the process lock out the members of the PDP with a view to allowing only the Labour Party members-elect to convene and elect the presiding officers of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly. This is a joke taken too far and presents desperate efforts by the governor and his Party to subvert democracy in Abia State.

Today, the Nigerian Senate and House of Representatives were inaugurated peacefully following the Proclamation issued by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In Abuja, no member of any political Party was locked out and neither the Inspector General of Police nor the Director General of the Directorate of State Security was petitioned to put orderliness into the conduct of the exercise.

We call on the governor and members of the Labour Party to perish the thought of secretly convening the first session and do the right thing by issuing a Proclamation for the inauguration of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly, publicise the date very well and ensure that all members-elect are present and unencumbered to elect their leaders. This is in the best interest of our democracy and serves to protect the good future that awaits all of us if we do the right things.

Abia PDP uses this opportunity to alert our irrepressible and gallant security agencies in Abia to rise to the occasion and forestall any attempt by the Labour Party to carry out its plan because it would amount to a subversion of the independence of the three arms of government which is the bedrock of our democracy and likely to torpedo the trademark peace in the State, made possible by the last PDP government. We are very confident that the security agencies would not allow any breach of the peace in Abia because they are known to be very dutiful and diligent, especially with the new helmsman of the Abia State Police Command who is an accomplished officer and a gentleman.

To the members of the PDP and the good people of Abia State, we call on everybody to remain calm, peaceful and law abiding.

ABIA: Judiciary Staff Accuse Gov Ikpeazu Of Failing To Pay 4 Months Salary Arrears, Embark On Strike
NIGERIA

The Abia State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, has accused the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration of not paying them their entitlements despite several written requests to his administration.

JUSUN also stated in its letter signed by State Chairman, Comrade (Prince) Ezeh C.N., that the Union would resume strike action on April 10 if their demands were not met.

Among other things listed by the union, they accused Ikpeazu of refusing to confirm Honourable Acting Chief Judge Lilian Abai as the substantive CJ after her name was forwarded to him by the National Judicial Council.

That it is not acceptable to the entire Abia State judiciary family that since after the National Judicial Council, NJC, Abuja wrote for the confirmation of the Honourable Acting Chief Judge Lilian Abai as a substantive Chief Judge. It has not been done thereby making Abia State judiciary to function without a substantive Chief Judge.

Who is an activist? What really qualifies one to merit the position of a trusted crusader for good governance? Is it when one tries to force oneself in a government and fails like a badly arranged pack of cards? Would you say such a citizen is fighting for the rights of the masses or for personal gains?

There is a saying that goes thus; "He who lives in a glass house, does not throw stones",. But, one man seems to defy such ancient warnings, and he is Eks Steve, acclaimed engineer and later day financial expert and the owner of Ekcon consults, no matter what it means, yet he is jobless and stranded in the white man's land. No busy man in Europe takes home - grown propaganda for vocation except and idle man.

It is on record that Comrade Eks Steve has been attacking the PDP led administration in Abia state since he found financial succour and pitched his tent with a serial governorship candidate he would later dumped for another governorship candidate, a case of - " he who pays the piper.

However, while attacking the PDP led administration in Abia State, the self- acclaimed activist and jobless Scotland based Abia son confided in a friend, that all he needed was the governor's attention at all cost.

It will shock Abians to know that EKs Steve lobbied for appointment as a commissioner in Abia State during the last cabinet reshuffle, which didn't happen. He is eager to get an excuse to return home, in his moves to run away from an entangled martial bliss.

However, his dream finally came through first week in May 2022. Who would have believed in Abia State that the same EKs Steve held a zoom meeting with the Governor Ikpeazu, as he showered praises on him for doing excellently well in the last seven years especially on infrastructures and subsequently begged to be a part of his success story?

This double agent would later present what he termed; SUGGESTED END-OF-TENURE GOVERNANCE PRIORITIES, he said would make Okezie Ikpeazu to finish strong and remain a hero, even after leaving office.

The government of Abia State acknowledged the proposal, despite the fact that what he presented had already been captured in the decisions of government as her end of tenure priorities.

Nonetheless, according to insiders account, the man later proved to have been a hunger - induced critic of government all these while as he demanded to be paid a whopping sum of $20million dollars for only a document of 19-pages, which he claimed was his Intellectual Property.

Unknown to Abians, he has also given the same documents to a governorship candidate in Abia with a different title - what a double agent?

Who is really an activist?

Let Abians ask Mr. Eks if the cover of the document (we have the full details) was not sent by him in May 2022, to the same Abia State Government he is now bashing on daily basis in social media platforms,?

Ask him, if the deal pulled through and he got paid, will he be playing the role of St. Steve ?

He wanted it secret and coded but he was turned down. The big question is; did Abia self acclaimed activist hold a zoom meeting with Abia state government officials?

Did he or did he not send his business proposal to Abia State Government in May, 2022 for a contract?

In his frustration and near desperation state, Comrade Eks Steve, before then had met a now governorship candidate of one of the political parties in UK, who inturn appreciated him. He would later request and got a transformer for his community and was subsequently recruited as an attack dog .

We reliably gathered that, EKs couldn't start his FAKE ACTIVISM immediately because he wanted to cash-out first with Abia State
Government, but when his hopes were dashed, he started his unwarranted propaganda with fake figures.

There are many of them like that who breathe, sleep and feed on propaganda after collecting money from their paymasters in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Nigerians Lambast House Of Representatives’ Spokesperson, Benjamin Kalu For Bringing Mistress To Address Journalists In Abuja

This is coming amid allegations by a former member of the House, Hon. Robinson Uwak, that Kalu had an illicit affair with his estranged wife, Kezia. He also said that Kalu, whom he refers to as senior, was responsible for his broken marriage.

Nigerians on Twitter have condemned the House of Representatives’ spokesperson, Benjamin Kalu, for allegedly bringing his mistress to the hallowed chamber to address journalists.

This is coming amid allegations by a former member of the House, Hon. Robinson Uwak, that Kalu had an illicit affair with his estranged wife, Kezia. He also said that Kalu, whom he refers to as senior, was responsible for his broken marriage.

Although Kalu described the allegations as frivolous meant to cast aspersions on his integrity, he did not however deny the allegations.
He had said his focus was on how to bring dividends of democracy to his constituents and return to the legislative chamber in 2023.
But the lawmaker set social media on fire on Thursday when the news broke that he brought his mistress to the House to address the National Assembly journalists.
Describing Kalu’s action as unconstitutional and flagrant disrespect for the House, Nigerians berated the Reps’ spokesperson and condemned his action.

A twitter user, wrote, “The Hon Benjamin Kalu from Bende Federal Constituency is openly misusing his power. Inviting your mistress to address the press is the height of it.
“How would Hon Benjamin Kalu allow his mistress to address the National Assembly on their personal matter!

“This is not good at all, using the NASS Journalists to spin a story bordering on his personal issues, it’s so unbelievable.
“Do they even checkbalance of peer works anymore because why will Hon Benjamin Kalu from Bende Federal Constituency, invite his mistress to address the press.”

Also, wrote, “If you have family issues, take it to where it should be addressed and not the NASS ffs! Hon Benjamin Kalu has just abused power by allowing his mistress mount and address journalists at the National Assembly over infidelity in their marriage.”
said, “Wetin Musa no go see for gate, especially if it is the National Assembly gate where Hon. Benjamin Kalu is abusing power with his mistress.”
Another user, wrote “Wonder shall never end. Representative of Bende Federal constituency, Hon Benjamin Kalu gave his wife access to address NASS on their alleged infidelity in their marriage. If this is not abuse of power, then I don’t know what it is.
“Hon Benjamin Kalu is really making the National Assembly look like a joke, why on earth will he invite his mistress to address journalists?”

wrote that “This is a disgrace on Hon. Benjamin Kalu for allowing his mistress address in the National Assembly.”
For , “This is disrespect to the National Assembly Press. Hon Benjamin Kalu can’t just invite his mistress to speak to journalists attached to the National Assembly.”
said that “Many so-called "leaders" in Nigeria tend to misuse or abuse power. If not so, why will Hon Benjamin Kalu from Bende Federal Constituency, invite his mistress to address the press?”

While noted that “National Assembly Press is not Hon Benjamin Kalu father's property that he has to invite his mistress to speak to journalists attached to the National Assembly.”

Things went sour between them when my wife Kezia discovered that Benjamin Kalu had six children and a VALID wife who is a doctor in Australia. this warranted my wife Kezia to pull out of that relationship.
TURBULENCE IN MY MARRIAGE:
Benjamin Kalu upon winning election into the House of Representatives has continued to pass messages to my wife through their mutual friend one Gwyneth Etim. Benjamin has through this girl and has also directly been telling my wife that if she was patient she would have become the wife of a Honourable member and has been luring my wife to quit our marriage for him. He has been using SIMCARDS registered with strange names to contact my wife and booking hotels to see my wife. Upon discovering this I asked my wife to desist from receiving communication from Benjamin Kalu and the said Gwyneth Etim. My wife has refused to heed my advice because of the money Benjamin Kalu is giving her and a promise to MARRY Her once she is out of our marriage.
CURRENT SITUATION:
My wife ran away from home with our twins owing to my latest discovery that she was still communicating with Benjamin Kalu who asked her to poison me and kill me so he can marry her.
Currently Benjamin Kalu is funding her and mobilizing the MEDIA and civil society groups to fight me and bring our sacred marriage to the ground. This is responsible for the negative media presence I currently have all over social media. Benjamin Kalu is using his position in the House of Representatives as house committee chairman on media and public affairs to destroy my children which he now wants to be from a broken home while tucking his own wife and kids in Australia.

Her madness is a bit disturbing to me personally because I had thought that the elevated office which she occupies in the Federal House of Representatives on behalf of the great people of Umunneochi/Isukwuato Federal Constituency would have somewhat cured her of her trademark affliction of arrogance, tactlessness and brazen idiocy.

But like all psychopaths, Nkiru Onyejeocha who in the full view of a shocked world, turned her unsuspecting husband, Ikemba Kingsley Onyejeocha, into a fugitive and beggar in his own house , is now shamelessly referring to Commissioners in Abia State as beggers in an infantile attempt to instigate the innocent public and denigrate the Abia State Executive Council. Her endless oscillation between lucid moments and absolute insanity is an unfortunate source of embarrassment not only to her Constituency but indeed to all men and women of goowill.

Nkiru Onyejeocha while pointing her dirty, crimson fingers at Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu without cause or reason has thrown caution to the winds in a vain attempt to fradulently amass cheap political attention at a time she should be bothering about the deep mess and chasm into which her devious activities has thrown the once manageable Abia APC. Today, with the likes of Nkiru Onyejeocha, Abia APC is permanently polarised and finished - locked in a fractricidal war of attrition, wits and wanton opportunism.

Ironically, while the whole Abia, except , perhaps, the deluded Nkiru Onyejeocha, is aware of her chequered antecedents and deplorable data, she keeps pretending to be holy, hypocritically pontificating on issues that directly indict her in all dimensions.

Several times, we offered helping hands to help cure her of this self inflicted malaise but like the notorious biblical Jezebel, her overbloated feeling of self importance does not allow her to see reason. Like a pig, Nkiru cannot stop wallowing in the mud of infamy. Despite repeated efforts to avoid this abominable bigot called Nkiru , she has refused to respect herself . Nkiru Onyejeocha prefers to overprice herself and dabble into avoidable conflicts that threaten the prevalent atmosphere of peace in the State. Sadly, with the upcoming elections, her moment of reckoning with the electorate has come.

One would have thought that she would have limited her foolhardiness and infantile manipulations to the Hammer House of Horror called APC in Abia State where her entrance has brought nothing but division and decay; but not Nkiru Onyejeocha! She will always overreach herself, prancing about like the proverbial Nwa Nza that challenges her gods to a wrestling contest.

Commissioners in Abia State will not reply Nkiru Onyejeocha neither will Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu stoop low to her lowlife. Like lucifer, let her continue wandering around and conspiring with other fallen political demons.

We can only pity her and ignore her rantings propelled by an excess dose of inferiority complex. Her restlessness is obviously borne out of her realisation that all her scheming and deceptive posturing have landed her in a perennial cul de sac.

On a personal note, I will advise Nkiru Onyejeocha to thread with caution and avoid investing in ant infested firewoods. If she continues in her usual bragadaccio, the lizards will visit her neighborhood and all her thick putrefaction will be exposed to her own loss and chagrain.

A word is enough for the wise.
