TEENAGERS AND S*X

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TALK ABOUT S*X WITH YOUR TEEN

Parents think their kids do not know anything, but they know alot more than they could imagine. Parents are naive and ignorant about what their kids are exposed to.

S*x Is something that needs to be taught throughout the lives of your kids, they need to be educated about it . First you have to be aware that we are in the 21st century and teenagers are quite exposed to alot of things, there is social media, movies, classroom, billboards, their environment and friends.

The things you may not have the time to talk about, because you are busy or due to work or you are scared of how they might react, you should know that there is someone, people and things that are willing to show them these things and push them into practicing and engaging in it.

First they is nothing like an innocent teenager, to parents who keep saying my teen is innocent and doesn't know about s*x , I'm sorry you are wrong.
They may not show it, they won't tell you, because they've been told about the dangers of letting an adult or their parents know.

As a parents it is your duty, to be the first to teach your kids about s*x , what it is and the reason it's being done, not the school, social media or class, but your duty as a parents. And the moment you fail to do this. You may likely have failed your duty as a parent.

200 years ago a thirteen year is likely to get married and may have have being educated about s*x once they hit the puberty stage or before then.
Why do we now pay less attention to this and act like it's not there , when we are expected to pay more attention to it and educate your kids about it and its purpose.

PRESS RELEASE

ABIA SIP TO PAY 94 MILLION TO 10,000 BENEFICIARIES

The Federal Government has released 93.47 Million Naira through the Abia State Cash Transfer Unit for Payment to about 10,000 benefitting Households in the State. The payment will be flagged off on Monday January 25th, 2021 in one of the benefiting Local Government Areas. This is coming after the initial payment of 540 million naira paid out last year to the same benefitting households.

While we thank Mr. President for sustaining this programme that has improved livelihood of the poor and vulnerable members of the society, we sincerely commend Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for putting up strong structures that implements these initiatives seamlessly in the State. Abia State Cash Transfer Unit a component of the Abia State Social Investment Programme is one of the most efficiently run Cash Transfer Units in the country. Under the headship of Mr Okeziem Nwoko, the state cash transfer unit has been most resourceful in managing the programme in the state.

Meanwhile all arrangements are in top gear by the State Focal Person Chinenye Nwaogu to ensure that all the 17 Local Government Areas in the State begin to benefit from the programme. While appreciating the Federal Government and the Governor Ikpeazu, the State Focal Person maintained that Abia has always been in the lead among the comity of states in implementing the National Social Investment programme which has been injecting over 800 million monthly into the economy of the state. He enjoined all stakeholders who have roles to play in implementing the programme to put more efforts to ensure Abians maximise the benefits these programmes offers. He opined that the mandate the Governor has given the Abia SIP office is that no stone should be left unturned to ensure Abia leverages on all the opportunities available through the National Social Investment Programme a mandate he said they have lived up to creditably. The SIP Focal Person further thanked the Wife of Governor Deaconess Nkechi Ikpeazu for always playing a very important role in ensuring the huge success witnessed in the state from the Social Investment Programme.

He further stated that in the coming months the Abia SIP Office will organise a stakeholder summit where opportunity will be given to give special recognitions to persons and offices that have supported the SIP programme in the state for posterity purposes.

He thanked all Abians for their continued encouragement and prayers.

Chinenye Nwaogu urged all beneficiaries of the Social Investment Programme to make judicious use of the funds and apprecited those who have begun some forms of entrepreneurship activities for showing great examples of gratitude and thriftness.

No Agreement Yet To Suspend Strike ― ASUU President

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU has denied a news report that it agreed to call off the ongoing strike after meeting with the Government negotiation team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige on Friday.

The Federal Government at the meeting at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Labour and Employment reportedly increased its offer for Earned Allowances EA to university based unions and funding for the revitalization of public universities from N65 billion to N70 billion.

It was further reported that the Government agreed to settle the arrears of salaries of the lecturers before December 31.

The report also noted that ASUU was expected to report the agreement to its organs and then communicate their decision to the government after which a date for the calling off of the strike would be announced.

But ASUU President, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, has denied knowledge of any agreement to call off the strike, stressing that at the meeting, it was only agreed that union should convey Government message to their organs and get back to Government.

Prof. Ogunyemi, said : ” I am not aware of that. All I know is that we had a meeting and we are going to report to our members. But I don’t know about suspension of strike.”

Yesterday's meeting was about the seventh time both sides have met to resolve the issues in contention since the university union embarked on strike on March 23.

After the meeting of last Friday November 20, Government agreed to exempt ASUU members who had not enrolled in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) and put them on the Government Integrated Financial and Management Information System (GIFMIS) pending when ASUU’S preferred payment platform- the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) will be approved.

FOREIGN NEWS:

Scotland becomes the first country in the world to make sanitary products free

Politicians in Scotland have unanimously approved a new law to make period products free for all. There is now a legal duty on local authorities to ensure that free items such as tampons and sanitary pads are available to "anyone who needs them". Labour MSP Monica Lennon introduced the bill to the Scottish parliament, and has been campaigning to end period poverty since 2016. She said it was a "practical and progressive" piece of legislation, made all the more vital because of the coronavirus pandemic. "Periods don't stop for pandemics and the work to improve access to essential tampons, pads and reusables has never been more important," she added. Exactly how people will be able to access period products will be decided by the country's 32 local councils, but they must give people access to different types of products "reasonably easily" and with "reasonable dignity".

I CAN RUN ANMABRA WITH MY PERSONAL MONEY - GOV ASPIRANT

A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant for the 2021 Anambra State election, Dr. Godwin Maduka, has described himself as “a billionaire in all currencies.”

The aspirant boasted that if voted into office, he was prepared to use personal funds to run the affairs of the state. He spoke during a youth carnival/ summit he organised for young people in Orumba South Local Government Area on Saturday.

He said, “I’m rich enough to run Anambra State Government with my personal money.”

The businessman who owns Las Vegas Pain Institute in the United States, also said, “I have great plans for Anambra State and Anambra people. I just addressed a group of market women associations who came to pay me a solidarity visit. I told them we would stop flooding this place with things we can produce once I become governor.

“People may say that the government has limited resources, but let me ask you, have you ever looked into the books of the government? The one they call security votes, has anyone ever accounted for them?

“The advantage is that I am one person who knows where to find funds to build infrastructure. It is not about government funds. I know where to source funds, and I also have my personal money. I am going to use my money to run the government. As a personal citizen, I have been doing it, and we will do more.”

ASUU: The Most Solid Union In Nigeria (Facts And Reasons)

Since 1978, the Academic Staff Union of Universities remain the "last men standing Union" defending the education of the common Man, even when they are accused of selfish demands; yet they still hold better cards than all other unions including the so called N.L.C.

Down the memory lane of the 1988, 1992, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2013, 2017, 2019 and 2020 strikes, we've experienced 42 years of constant struggle to uphold the 'Nigerian Educational standard'. Imagine the conditions of our public tertiary education in Nigeria without ASUU, even as it exist, those in the positions of power continue to send their kids to foreign Universities while intentionally refusing to 'commit properly' to what will avoid ASUU strikes.

Let us try to analyze the future of a country with over 200 Million citizens, but only allocate 6.7 % of the 2020 budget in its education sector. What do you think of the N13.08 Trillion as budget for the year 2021 but only 5.6% of those trillions goes to education. It is a shame that 'the giant of Africa' keep setting a weak and discouraging pace for other baby countries.

Let's revisit some bitter facts: Today is 21st November 2020, exactly 1year + 90 days that the Education Minister assumed office for his 2nd term since August 21, 2020; despite his inability to meet up with his Ministerial Strategic Plan (MSP 2016-2019). Can any student, lecturer or politician show us any substantial transformation or practical progress in our public tertiary Institutions?. It is painful how some Nigerians side with the Government while blaming ASUU over these strikes. Imagine the fate of a commoner in the Nigerian Educational System without ASUU.

Imagine the future of the Nigerian Universities without visual lecturing facilities; by 2040 when the population of Nigerians may climax to about 500 Million people, how do you see our Universities?.

How do you feel when 500-800 students are packed like sardines in a lecture hall without microphone or even light to power the bulbs or fans in the hall?. Nobody talks about luxury in our Universities, we are still battling with the inadequate necessity. How do you feel when you see Federal Universities with no internet connection in this global era of the 21st century?.

How do you feel when you visit any of the departmental, Faculty or University's main Library; only to find outdated Books, the acclaimed ICT resource centers are filled with obsolete, dusty, rusty and dead computers of the 1980's?. Now that the Gov't utilize both the pandemic and the strike to suspend Universities learning for close to 9 Months, did their children stopped schooling abroad?.

How do you feel as a father or a Student to be running to bushes as toilet, walk kilometers in search of water, spend hours or even days without electricity, use street lights as the most reliable reading environment, treks several minutes because there are no shuttle buses etc. Do you understand what it takes to be called a "University student or lecturer?"

How do you feel when you see that almost all the private Primary Schools are having more standard facilities than almost all the Federal Universities (Except few) while the Libraries and Laboratories of our Private Secondary Schools are better than our acclaimed Federal institutions (Except few).

Imagine the wages, allowances, welfare and fair treatment of Lecturers that are believed to be the highest shapers of the future compared to the most unqualified political appointees!.Do you care to know how state Governments treat Educational facilities compared to the Executive furnishings giving to their legislative assemblies and other offices?.

Are we indirectly encouraging our youths to pay more attention to politics than education?. Are we remembering the future of our children while comparing with the qualitative past of our leaders that got pampered to go to school and even have 'ready made' jobs waiting for them?.

The same beneficiaries of the past bonus' are the ones using negligence, unfavorable policies and intentional carelessness to destroy the educational standard of the commoner, simply because they never have their kids in public schools.

Do you care to know how junior lecturers struggle hard to get scholarships for further capacity building?. Do you care to know the unavoidable importance of Visiting lecturers, especially senior lecturers that are scarcely available and specialized in certain courses?. Do you know that Nigeria of over 200 Million population requires at least 200,000 qualified lecturers instead of the existing less than 40,000 in Nigerian public Universities?.

It is statistically proven that our Federal Universities have less than 25,000 lecturers while the State Universities have less than 16,000 Lecturers. Do you know that Egypt have more than 60,000 Professors and teaching staf, just in their 24 public Universities?. South Africa have more than 4,034 Professors, just Professors!.

We are Nation full of potentials but challenged by misplacement of priorities. Despite our challenges in the Educational system, our science related students faces the worst.

From Medical students, Engineering, technology, Chemical Sciences, ICT, Genetics, Biotechnology, Artificial intelligence etc; all are trained with obsolete tool. With all the facts on ground, how do you justify the negligence of the authorities concerns and end up insulting ASUU?.

How do you expect our Educational system to work both at the Federal, states and local level when our Federal Ministers and States Commissioners of Education are free to own private Schools?. Imagine SUBEB Chairmen and E.S of local government having private Nursery and primary schools, what do you think will ever change?.

When the leaders of a Nation prefer to send their children to United Kingdom for degrees, how then do you blame ASUU for the strikes? Is it that you don't understand how men care less on what doesn't affect them or you so much love to defend the politicians?. Before you blame ASUU, know that Fatima Buhari went to BUSINESS ACADEMY, Stratford, United Kingdom.

Know that Safinatu Buhari went to University of PLYMOUTH, United Kingdom; (Now Arden University, U. K). Halima Buhari went to University of Leicester, U. K. Yusuf Buhari went to University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Zarah Buhari went to University of Surrey, United Kingdom. Hanan Buhari went to RAVENSBOURNE University in England.

The No. 2 citizen of Nigeria equally send Fiyin Osinbajo to Warwick University in the same United Kingdom. Even the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission send his kid to University of Aberdeen United Kingdom, while Students at home continue to be hopeless, struggling through B. Sc to PhD, spending 7 years in a 4 year course. You think Nigerian education will ever get the right attention?.

In conclusion, i strongly recommend that the Academic Staff Union of the Universities to urgently consider the following submission to save the academic future of Nigeria and to regain back their glory that's about to be completely insulted by politicians especially those in power:

1: Academicians especially Professors should desist from participating in electoral collation and returns, completely and unanimously, that's because the attitude of a lot of Professors as Returning Officers were considered disgraceful and unpatriotic; which is why the politicians even have additional temerity to treat ASUU as they do!.

2. Set up 'ASUU Special Orientation Club' in all Universities to intimate and engage Students on the social struggle. The union can only sustain it struggle if they have the popular support of the public and as it is, the Government have always succeeded in wining the public sympathy, especially because they use the media well. Education is the most sacrosanct defense of the common men; it should be protected at all cost.

BETTER FUTURE AWAITS EDUCATION SECTOR IN ABIA, GOVERNOR IKPEAZU PROMISES

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has promised a brighter future for the Education Sector in the Abia State.

Governor Ikpeazu said one of the biggest thing mapped out for the sector would be the introduction of digital learning as his administration has taken delivery of smart machines that will teach Abia children using a smart box.

Ikpeazu, who was speaking in an interactive session with pupils and students of Australian Academy Aba, disclosed that another lofty stride for the Education Sector in Abia is the launching of four model school that would cut across the three senatorial zones of the state.

According to him, the model schools are sited at Obingwa, Osisioma, Umuahia and Ohafia, maintaining that these model schools are going to be good examples of ideal public school in Nigeria.

Explaining further about the digital learning, the Governor said the device can be used to teach up to 25 subjects with their different curricular already embedded in the machine.

Governor Ikpeazu added that the device has the capacity to teach even extra-curricular subjects like shirt making and the likes, stressing that: "With that device, my children in Abia will be a step ahead other children in Nigeria."

He used the opportunity to advise pupils and students to be obedient to their parents and ensure they take their studies very seriously adding that the government would strive to do those things that would make the children happy.

He urged them to be good in something and warned them not to be bad in everything.

The Governor, who entertained so many questions from the pupils and students, including question about the protests, and the reason for not having television stations in Aba, ceased the chance to call on private sector individuals to establish television stations in Aba.

He said: Before I became Governor, we had only one private radio station in Abia but today in Aba alone, we have five radio stations. We have Real, Buzz, Rhema, we have so many private stations coming. I'm encouraging them to listen to your voice and the voices of others to establish TV stations to complement the jobs of radio stations in Aba."

He added: I cannot promise that govt will establish a TV station today but I'm working hard to support and encourage private sector individuals to establish the biggest TV stations in Nigeria."

Speaking earlier, the Proprietor of Australian Academy Aba, said they came to interact with the Governor as part of the external club activities of the school noting that the school emphasizes on the practical teaching and learning.

Governor later took the children round his proposed library Project which is under construction and his animal park while the children had real fun asking questions and having them being answered by Governor Ikpeazu.
