You see ehn. . . Let's tell ourselves the truth,

You may hate prostitution or corruption, just pray certain situations or a certain amount of money doesn't come your way, you may see yourself compromising.

Some people will swear that they can't do certain things, but put a certain amount of money before them, and the rest is history.

You may not know your reaction to some things until certain opportunities come your way.

In a world where money rules and where having money can literally put you anywhere you want to be or get you anything, I bet you, at the right price, most of us will dump our values and standards.

This is one of the major reasons I respect and talk about the person of Peter Obi. You won't appreciate his standard until you find yourself in such a situation where you can pocket any amount of money and no one will even notice, but you still decide not to. It is even worst when you are poor and deeply in need.

I take this line of the Lord's prayers seriously: "do not let me to be tempted", because true true, if God allows some temptations to hit us, and the temptation comes at the right time and with the right price, my brother, forgerit. . .

May God help us all.
May we get to that point where no amount of money can make us lose our standards and values. Amen!

In this 2023 that we just crossed over to, the trending story is that a man who has been identified as a herbalist, slept with a woman identified to be married to a pastor, and immediately after the s*x, the herbalist or native doctor died.

The supporters of the dead herbalist storm the church where the husband of the lady is pastoring and in anger vandalized it.

And this is because according to the story, the associates of the late herbalist/native doctor allegedly attributed his death to "magun", a local charm placed on married women by their husbands to harm lovers who sleep with them.

The long and short of the story is that a certain pastor is accused of visiting a herbalist to get a charm to put on his wife, thus killing a herbalist.

A dead herbalist is accused of visiting a certain pastor's wife in the hotel and died after having s*x with her following the charm put on her, which must have been gotten from his fellow herbalist.

The pastor's wife is accused of loving a man who is a pastor and another who is a herbalist.

But, I digressed. That is not why this post is made. The reason I am writing this is due to the comments I read from people after they read the story.

I possibly cannot understand why, following the sudden death of the herbalist after s*x, no one is asking a basic question about the blood pressure of the man or talking about cardiac arrest. Now, even without exhausting the basic facts before us, everyone seems to believe that a certain charm called "magun" was what actually killed the man.

I don't want to talk about the morality of the story. We already know that. But my concern here is: why do we Africans always hold on to imaginary causes even without first exhausting the basic and obvious facts?

We have really not crossed over.
