*2023: Umunneochi Declares total Support for Professor Ikonne*

Stakeholders and delegates of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Umunneochi Local Government of Abia State have endorsed Professor Uche Ikonne as their sole candidate, ahead of the PDP Gubernatorial primaries and 2023 Abia Gubernatorial elections.

A delegation led by Leaders of the four Political Zones in Umunneochi made this known during a solidarity visit to Professor Ikonne at his Umuahia residence.

Prince Dan Okolie (Zone 4), said " we have come with one voice to tell the world that Umunneochi leaders and delegates have today, May 21, 2022, declared our total support for Prof. Ikonne and his Abia Guber Aspirations".

The Member Representing Umunneochi in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Okey Igwe, moved the motion for the adoption of Professor Ikonne as Umunneochi sole candidate for Abia Governor come 2023, while the former member representing Umunneochi in the Abia House of Assembly, Prince Ikedi Ezekwesire seconded the motion.

Earlier in their speeches, the Umunneochi PDP party Chairman, Woman Leader, the Coordinator Uche Ndi Abia in Umunneochi, Hon. Commissioner for Information Barr. Eze Chikamnayo, expressed confidence in the person of Professor Ikonne who they attest to his ingenuity in leadership, as experienced given the leadership positions he has held.

Addressing the delegation, the leading PDP aspirant, Professor Uche Ikonne noted his interest to partner with Ndi Umunneochi, as to put the state on a faster lane of development.
He also revealed that his administration will run an all-inclusive government where every Abian will feel a sense of belonging.

In his vote of thanks, the Director-General of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Chindeum Elechi, thanked Ndi umunneochi and implored them to remain resolute in their support for Professor Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne.

The visit attracted the presence of the Executive Chairman Umunneochi Local Government area, Chief Madu, His Deputy, Jubilee Eze-Chikamnayo, The Deputy Director-General of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organisation, Chief Ibe Nwadioha, among other dignitaries.

Precisely on Tuesday, the 17th day of May 2022, the people's Democratic party's delegates from Bende Local government area of the state paid an unusual but a vital visit to a PDP leading abia Guber aspirant, Prof Uche Ikonne at his residence to pledge their total support and to assure him of their 100% votes at the primary election billed to hold in a few days from now.

The Bende delegates aren't the first to embark on such an uncommon solidarity visit to prof Ikonne. Before now, similar party delegates from four other local Governments areas from the Old Bende zone of the state had embarked on similar visit as well, insisting that it's either Prof Ikonne or nonelse.

One could feel the sincerety, honesty and seriousness of their visit on their faces and in their speeches. These visitors and messengers are men and women of integrity, quality and substance, whose sole interest is the betterment of Abia. Nothing more, nothing less.

Beyond that, the leaders of the seventeen legislative councils of the state aren't left out in such an instructive visit too. For emphasis, These honorable leaders represents the 284 serving councilors in the state, which has huge palatable and pleasant implications.

All indication have proved that a lot is currently going on well for the Erudite Professor of optometry In his bid to clinch the PDP sole Guber ticket for the 2023 General election.

Beside holding tight to his Ukwa-Ngwa stronghold where he is pretty sure of not dropping a single vote, Prof Ikonne enjoys the support of over five hundred thousand students who have passed through his tutelage in the tertiary world, and are impatiently waiting to cast their votes for him at the general election. After all, the raw materials in politics are the electorates.

FOR PROF. ELEAZAR UCHENNA IKONNE, IT'S NOT HIS AGE. IT'S HIS MILEAGE.

After weeks ago, after Prof Ikonne declared his interest to run for Governor of Abia State under the platform of the PDP, he offered me the position of Director-General, which I gladly accepted because he is the type of person Abia State needs as Governor in 2023 to continue from where Governor Okezie Ikpeazu stops.
Prof Ikonne is a Professor of Optometry. He started his career as a Lecturer of Optometry in Imo State University, long before Abia State was created. Public records show that he was born on 15th August, 1956, which makes him 65+ years as at today (18th May 2022).
Prof Ikonne rose from a young Lecturer in Imo State University to become a two-time Deputy Vice Chancellor of Abia State University and eventually the Vice Chancellor of the University for a 5-year term from 1st December 2015 (when he was 59 years) to 1st December 2020 (when he was 64 years). In between, he was also appointed as the Rector of Abia State Polytechnic.

Unknown Gunmen Warns Soludo, Says We Will Attack 9 More Local Governments...........

Suspected gunmen have listed nine local government areas in Anambra State for attacks soon.

The development came after security operatives neutralised four persons enforcing sit-at-home on Tuesday in Ogidi, Idemili North local government area.

The local government areas penciled for attack are: Ihiala, Aguata, Nnewi South, Awka North, Awka South, Idemili North, Idemili South, Orumba South, Orumba North and Anambra East.

They dropped the message at the weekend through a driver, warning security operatives to get ready for action in ‘Biafra Land’.

According to the note: “These local government areas should wait for us soon.

“We are warning our dear Professor that it is time for action and not time to speak big grammar and talking"
“All the security men occupying BIAFRA LAND should get ready for action

“Go and tell the ZOO President to release our Oga, Onyendu, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or face continuous war- FINAL WARNING.”

Security operatives on Tuesday tracked the hoodlums that operated in Ogidi and snuffed them out.

The four suspects were said to be enforcing the imaginary ‘sit-at-home order around the Ogidi area when they confronted security operatives.

Anambra Police spokesman, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident to The Nation.

He said the Command and other sister agencies had been on patrol to maintain law and order in the State.

Tochukwu said people should be allowed to go about their normal businesses without any form of intimidation and harassment.

*PROF UCHE IKONNE CONCLUDES HIS STATE WIDE CONSULTATION WITH A VISIT TO ISIALA NGWA NORTH, SAYS PUTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF ABIA ON A SPEED LANE REMAINS SACROSANT*

A 2023 PDP Guber hopeful in the state, Prof. Uche Ikonne has expressed gratitude to Abia stakeholders and delegates of the people's Democratic party in the state for their warm reception and hospitality accorded to him during his state wide tour across the seventeen Local Government areas of the state, adding that the visits have afforded him the opportunity to interact and interface with the people, maintaining that all parts of the state, if elected, will witness a speedy development, as according to him, every part of Abia has its comparative advantage, citing Arochukwu LGA with huge diaspora content as a case study.

The immediate past Vice Chancellor of Abia state university Uturu used the occasion to eulogize the sterling achievements of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, especially in the areas of provision of infrastructure and security, and urged Abians not to take those feats for granted, emphasizing that what the state needs at this point is a capable, experienced, exposed, tested and trusted hand like him to consolidate on those achievements, insisting that the situation we are all into does not call for any political experiment.

Prof. Ikonne, who goes with the title, Ugonmuta Ndị Abia also promised to run an all inclusive government if elected, and called for the support of everyone towards his quest to move the state forward, describing his decision to join in the Abia Guber race as divine.

Earlier in his remarks, the Director General of Uche Ndị Abia campaign organization, Chief Chinedum Elechi said, they came to present their son, Prof Uche Ikonne to them as their consensus candidate for the 2023 Abia Guber race, hence they expect nothing less than a 100+1% votes from the delegates, as the professor of Optometry has all it takes to pilot the affairs of the Abia.

The highpoint of the visit was the conferment of a chieftaincy title of Ohazurume 1 of isiala Ngwa North by the Isiala Ngwa North traditional ruler's council led by their Chairman, Eze Dr. Aliche, which was attended by dignitaries from the Isiala Ngwa North and beyond including the member, Representing Isiala Ngwa North state constituency, Okenze Ginger Onwusibe, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe, The commissioner for Local Government and chieftaincy affairs, Rt. Arochukwu local government was was visited by our Leader Uche ndi Abia campaign organization’s governorship aspirant for PDP Professor Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne, he first met with the stakeholders of the party in Arochukwu in the house of Senator Mao Ohuabunwa and he reminded them that the Aro’s are like the Jews, scattered everywhere in the world but never forget’s their land Israel because every Jew thinks of home, he told them that he wants to run participatory and all inclusive government to capitalize on the diasporas contest of Aro harnessing the juicy contents of their sons and daughters all over the world. Hon Uko Nkole member of the Federal house of Assembly from Aro present there promised on behalf of the stakeholders that our principal’s problem if any will not come from Arochukwu.
