POOR DISTRIBUTION FROM MIDFIELD COST MAN UNITED THE GAME VS LIVERPOOL.

Man utd didn't just loose their game against their bitter rivals Liverpool because of their lethargic attackers in the final third, their midfield was porous, lacked technique and physicality to Match the solidity of Liverpool's midfield duo in Mac Allister and Gravenberch, the pair was really outstanding for Liverpool making it easy for Sallah and his cohorts to do damage to Red devil's backline in their backyard.

Some of the fans maybe quick to see casemiro as the culprit but I think otherwise, in that casemiro is primarily not a distributor of the ball, he is best at breaking play, intercepting and man marking, these are his strength, giving him the mantle of distributing the ball in a midfield of Mac Allister and Gravenberch proved abysmal.

On the other hand , we had a starlet who is still young and developing. I understand he's been touted by Paul Scholes to have similar kind of play with Zenedine Zidane, but personally as much as I feel Kobbie is a great lad with potential, I also feel distribution of the ball is not a core strength of his, He has no long range vision of the ball when with the ball, you will agree with me that If we had a player with good distribution of the ball in the midfield, some silly mistakes made yesterday would have been avoided.

The importance of midfield control and distribution in modern football cannot be overemphasized as Manchester United's struggles in this area were exposed by Liverpool's superior midfield pairing.

Summarily, for the red devil's to compete with top teams, they need to address these midfield shortcomings and find a player who can dictate the tempo and distribute the ball effectively as this will also help ease creative burdens on attackers like Rashford, Bruno Fernandez etc , for such a midfielder will also help spark the life that is needed into the final third players for their flourishing as well.
