"I have heard of how he viciously savaged the reputation of his uncle, a man who was like his foster father".

"Character wise, Nasir has not much going for him".

"My vivid recollection of him is his penchant for lying, for unfair embellishment of stories and his inability to sustain loyalty for long".

"I believe that he can still be used in public service under guidance and sufficient oversight, making allowance for the psychology of his petit size".

"He was described as a malicious liar. He was more than that; he is a pathological purveyor of untruths and half - truths with little or no regard for integrity".

SENATOR ITA ENANG EXPELLED BY APC OVER ANTI PARTY ACTIVITIES

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expelled Senator Ita Enang, former special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on national assembly matters over anti party activities.

A letter by Hon. (Obong) Stephen Leo Ntukekpo, APC, Akwa Ibom State, addressed to the Ward Chairman of the party in Eastern Ward 2, Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area, said Enang’s sack has been rectified by the state working committee of the party.

According to the letter, the rectification followed a petition against Enang over anti party activities and disobedience party directives.

“The State Working Committee (SWC) of the party has received a copy of the above letter addressed to Senator Ita Solomon Enang in respect of his anti-party activities and disobedience to the lawful directives of the party,” the letter reads in part.

“The anti-party activities among others include his indulgence with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State and his willful but unlawful disobedience of the directives of our great party, the APC.

“After a free and fair gubernatorial primary election conducted by the party which he lost without showing good spirit of sportsmanship, Senator Ita Solomon Enang had engaged in an endless litigation against the candidate who won and the party. In the process, fully doing the biding of the PDP to put a clog in the wheel of our progress as a party. The clandestine meetings he holds with opposition party, the PDP and after such meetings, drumming support for them, are not without notice by his vigilant ward and chapter officers of our great party.

“Consequently, I write on behalf of the State Working Committee (SWC) to ratify the decision of the disciplinary committee of the All Progressives Congress; that, Senator Ita Solomon Enang, be and is hereby expelled from the All Progressives Congress.”

GOD WON'T GIVE POWER TO THE WICKED, TREACHEROUS -WIKE

Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike says he and his allies of the G5 group are never playing God as to determine who becomes the next president of Nigeria.

Governor Wike stated these in reaction to statement in the media that said God will determine the next president of Nigeria, not G5 governors.

The Rivers State governor, speaking at the flag-off of Ogbo- Ihugbodo Road in Ahoada East Local Government Area on Saturday, said, those behind the statement should have known that even if God gives power, it should not be given to the wicked.

"Don't be treacherous in life because you want power. God will never give power to the wicked. Our hands are clean we have not done anything wrong.

"All we are saying is, do things in a way all of us will have sense of belonging, that all of us will believe that we are together.

"That is all we are saying. If saying so is wrong, then let it be to God. But we know that it is good as right takes, let left take also."

Governor Wike explained that members of the G5 believe in the omnipotence of God and always align their various affairs to such, which is why they keep getting stronger by the day.

The Rivers State governor pointed out that the person who said that it only God and not G5 governors who can decide who will be president seemed not to understand the background of members of the group.

"We are alive today, we are where we are because of God. Nobody can even breathe air if not God, not to talk of holding position. So, nobody can tell us that it is only God, we know that it is only God that gives power.

"But our prayer is that God, don't allow those who will sell off Nigeria in the next one second to be in power. Our prayer is God, don't allow anybody that you (people) will have an agreement with and in the next two minutes, the person will change.

"Our prayer is that almighty God will not allow those who will betray their brothers when they have agreed with their brothers to do something. God, may you never allow such people."

Governor Wike also noted that the person said that there will be division among the G5, an expectation that had long been frustrated since May/June 2022.

"It has never worked and it will never work in Jesus name. By sitting down to say that there will be division, I send back that prayer to you.

"I don't want to discuss them. I have told people, allow the sleeping dog to lie. If you don't allow sleeping dog to lie, you too will not sleep."

The Rivers State governor also pointed to another person saying that they will handle members of the G5 when they have decided where to throw their support.

"These are the things that annoy us. Who is this person saying this? I heard them say that PDP is a responsible party I agree. But when they left PDP in 2014 against 2015.

"When they left and made PDP to lose our election. Today, we are struggling to take over power from APC. Who are those who made us to lose this power."

Commenting on the project, Governor Wike the Ogbo -Ihugbodo road is one of the many projects his administration has continued to deliver to restore Ahoada Town and the surrounding communities to what it used to be when it was a divisional headquarters.

The governor emphasised that it is already established that he is creating an unbeatable record as an administration in Nigeria that will continue to deliver democratic dividend until the last day of his tenure.

Governor Wike stated that the jealousy expressed by some detractors is because of the capacity he has continued to demonstrate in governance, combining delivery of projects and attending to issues of governance with none suffering.

He threw a challenge to those who feel jealous to also show capacity and combine project flag-off, inauguration and governance simultaneously if they can.

Providing the project description, Rivers State Commissioner for Works, Dr. George -Kelly Dakorinima Alabo said the Ogbo -Ihugbodo road is 6.1KM long, with about 4.1KM cutting through fresh vegetation.

He stated that the road is 7.3 meters wide, has 4KM length of drains on both sides and should be delivered within five months.

CROSS OVER AND MOVE ON:

When I started using pen in my primary school, and I made a mistake, I would try hard to erase it before submitting to my teacher.

Sometimes, I use chalk to clean my mistake but it later re-appeared.
So I began to use saliva, it worked, but only to leave holes in my books.
My teachers then used to beat me for being outrageously dirty. But all I tried to do was to cover my error.

One day, a kind hearted teacher who loved me so much called me aside and he said, " Anytime you make a mistake, just cross it and move on" .
He said further " Trying to erase your mistakes would only damage your book.
I told him in protest that I don't want people to see my mistake.
My loving teacher laughed and said " Trying to erase your mistake will make more people know about your mess and the stigma is for life".

Have you made some mistakes in life? Cross it over and move on.
Don't expose yourself as a result of trying to cover your mistakes.

Better things are ahead of you.
Strike your 2022 mistakes and move into 2023 with a fresh note.
Enjoy His unfailing Grace all through 2023. Jesus Christ remains your strength and shield.

Happy new year .

Court urged to order Buhari to sack COAS over contempt conviction

The Federal High Court in Abuja has been asked to among others, compel President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Faruk Yahaya owing to his conviction for contempt by a High Court in Niger State.

The request forms a relief in a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/2236/2022 filed on Friday by a lawyer, Johnmary Jideobi.

Listed as defendants in the suit are Yahaya, President Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami.

Justice Halima Abdulmalik of the High Court of Niger State on November 30 convicted Yahaya and the Commandant Training and Doctrine Command Minna, Major General Stevenson Olugbenga Olabanji, for willfully disobeying an earlier order made on October 12.

Justice Abdulmalik ordered that they be jailed until they purge themselves of the act of contempt.

In his suit, Jideobi is contending that Yahaya’s conviction remains extant and subsisting since it has neither been suspended, stayed, vacated nor upturned on appeal.
Jideobi argued that the nation's Constitution prohibits convicts from holding public positions.

He further argued that President Buhari has no constitutional powers to appoint a convict, who is sentenced to a jail term, as the Chief of Army Staff.

The plaintiff added that the “suit is brought in the interest of the public, to protect the dignity of the Nigerian Constitution and the Nigerian Army as a foremost institution of discipline which must not be led at any time by a convict more so a contemnor who treats the sacred orders and decisions of a duly constituted court with perfidious disregard”
Other reliefs being sought by Jideobi include:

*An order of declaring vacant the seat of the Chief of Army Staff of Nigerian Army.

*An order directing the most immediate senior military officer in the Nigerian Army, after the Chief of Army Staff, to take over the management of the affairs of the Nigerian Army pending when the President and Commander –in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria appoints a new Chief of Army Staff.

*An order declaring void, a nullity and setting aside all actions, decisions and steps taken by General Faruk Yayaha as the Chief of Army Staff from the 30th day of November, 2022 until the judgment of the High Court of Niger State of Nigeria, convicting the first defendant and sentencing him to prison on the 30th day of November, 2022 is set aside or upturned by a court of competent jurisdiction.

*An order restraining General Faruk Yahaya, (the first defendant) forthwith, from exercising the powers and functions of the Chief of Army Staff and from drawing any benefit, salaries and perks of office as the Chief of Army Staff until the judgment of the High Court of Niger State of Nigeria, convicting and sentencing him to prison on the 30th day of November, 2022 is set aside or upturned.

*An order restraining the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from further appointing the first defendant (Yahaya) into the office of the Chief of Army Staff or any other position in the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

*A mandatory order, pursuant to Section 287(3) of the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, compelling the honourable Attorney-General of the Federation (the 3rd defendant herein) to ensure immediate compliance with the judgment of the honourable court in this suit.”

The suit is yet to be assigned for hearing.

I Did My Best As Trader, Do Better As Professor, Obi Slams Soludo

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has urged the the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, to do better than he did while he governed the state.

Obi said this on Tuesday at the 2022 Lagos Business School Alumni Conference, while reacting to some of the bashing he has been receiving from the current Anambra governor in recent days.

The LP candidate said, “He (Soludo) remains my brother. For other things (that) I did not succeed, God has given him the opportunity to succeed. For me, you don't finish governance. You stop where you stop and other people continue from there. He is the Governor of my state, he is my senior brother and he is even more intelligent than me because he is a professor and I am a trader.

“So he knows more, so he should be able to do things better than I am doing it. I have done my little own as a trader, now the professor is there, he should be able to do his own as a professor. The schools I didn't roof, he will roof them, another person will do his own too.”

Last Thursday, Soludo had said that the investments of Obi in Anambra State are now “worth next to nothing” and has even gone ahead to dismiss Obi's chances at the poll.

Peter Obi’s $12.24million Investments As Anambra Governor Now Worthless

– Governor Soludo

The Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, on Thursday said the purported investment of the sum of N1,955,535,247.00 (an equivalent of approximately $12,616,356.43 at the then average CBN exchange rate of N155.00/$1) by one of his predecessors in office, Peter Obi, is worth next to nothing.

Obi is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Before clinching the party’s ticket, he governed Anambra State from 2006 to 2014.

He had invested millions of dollars in International Breweries on behalf of Anambra State as a governor.

International Breweries (IB) Plc is a subsidiary of the world’s largest brewer, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) — a multinational drink and brewing giant based in Leuven, Belgium.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Soludo said he was not aware of any investment in the state by any of his predecessors.

“I think there was something I read about somebody speculating about whatever investment. With what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is worth next to nothing. So, let’s leave that aside,” the governor said.

He added, “We are handing out employment letters to more than 5,000 teachers to end an era of schools without teachers.

“We are going to have 240 plus doctors and consultants to man our general hospitals, so if you look at the five fingers approach of our programmes; we designed our budget to keep our eyes on the ball.”

04/11/2022

Recently, social media went abuzz after our esteemed Tech Bro publicly showed his support for BAT and even presented BATs tech policy. Let me explain why this tried-and-failed concept of 'technocrat joins forces with incompetent/corrupt leader' is doomed from the start.

We all saw how Ibe Kachikwu, a Harvard-trained lawyer and then Executive Vice Chairman and Legal Counsel for ExxonMobil (HQ in the US, not Nigeria), left his stellar career to come to transform Nigeria under Buhari. Where's the transformation today, if I may ask? Walk with me.

Shortly after Kachikwu started as the GMD of the NNPC and the Minister of State for Petroleum, he started working on ideas that culminated in a 7-point agenda that sought to transform the NNPC into a modern, world-class, state-owned Oil and Gas company.

"The 7 Big Wins are seven major expected outcomes of an ambitious but well thought-out seven short and medium term priorities aimed at growing Nigeria's oil and gas industry."

Before he launched the initiative, he was abruptly removed as the GMD of the NNPC, with Maikanti Baru announced as his replacement. Note that this was in July 2016 -- less than a year in.

He was made the Chairman of the NNPC. As the chairman, he was still in an authoritative position from which he could make changes. Right?
Not so fast. Stay with me and see how things unfold.

As the minister of state for Petroleum (a junior minister), he was subject to the Minister of Petroleum (Pres. Buhari).
As the Chairman of the Board of the NNPC, the executive power rested on the GMD. With his removal as GMD, he was effectively reduced to a figurehead.

Fast forward a few months and a scandal erupted in the NNPC. Kachikwu writes to Buhari complaining of reckless appointments that were not approved by the board.

Vanguard: In a letter written by Kachikwu to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of State said for over one year, he had tolerated the disrespectful and humiliating conduct of the Group Managing Director in his office, and has decided to bring the issue to the attention of the President.

Kachikwu: “The Board of NNPC, which you appointed and, which has met every month since its inauguration and, which by the statutes of NNPC is meant to review these planned appointments and postings, was never briefed."

First, it was appointments, next, as expected, it was multi-billion-dollar contracts that were neither board-reviewed nor board-approved.

Premium Times: In the letter addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Kachikwu, who is also the chairman of the Board of NNPC, accused Mr. Baru of illegality by awarding contracts worth about $25 billion (N9T) without following due process in consulting the NNPC Board.

You can see that Kachikwu thought he was dealing with the kind of folks you meet at a Global Fortune 500 company. I laugh.

I don't need to go further. You should get the gist now. Kachikwu did not return after Buhari's re-election.

NNPC decayed so badly that for the first time, skyrocketing oil prices (caused by the Ukraine war) did not lead to increased federal revenue because of how much of our oil was being stolen. Thanks to PO for putting the government under pressure by accusing them of the oil theft!

Write this down: When a technocrat tries to execute initiatives that will ruffle the feathers of the allies of a cronyistic leader, the technocrat either gets clipped (stripped of any power to execute or make change) or completely ejected. Need examples?

Kachikwu, Osibanjo, Fashola -- all technocrats that have been either clipped or ejected in Buhari's administration in favor of cronies. These people were sold as the brains that would "Power the administration from behind the scenes". Pray to tell, folks. How has that worked out?

What about Femi Pedro and Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele -- two deputy governors under BAT that were ejected?.

We've seen this play out time and time again and yet some folks want to tell us it will be different this time. Why are some people so smart, and yet so stupid?

All said and done go and get your PVC.

NDLEA intercepts over 2.4million tramadol pills from Pakistan at Lagos airport
As notorious drug kingpin bags 7 years imprisonment
Desperate attempts by the tramadol drug cartel to smuggle into Nigeria over Two Million Four Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand (2, 465, 000) tablets of the pharmaceutical opioid in 225mg and 250mg, weighing Two Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Six kilograms (2,356kgs) with an estimated street value of One Billion, Forty Million Naira (N1, 040, 000, 000) through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja Lagos have been foiled by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

The seizure of the drug on Friday 7th October came barely a week after about 13.5million pills of the same opioid worth over N8.8billion were recovered by NDLEA operatives from one of the mansions of a billionaire drug baron in the highbrow residential estate, Victoria Garden City, VGC, Lekki Lagos.

Following credible intelligence, the Agency had shown interest in the consignment of 52 cartons that came into Nigeria from Karachi, Pakistan with six different airway bills via Ethiopian Airline flight, comprising seven cartons of 250mg of a brand called tamral and 45 cartons of 225mg, branded as tramaking.

Soon after its arrival at the Lagos airport, the NDLEA called for a joint examination of the consignment with other stakeholders and after its information was confirmed by all, the 52 cartons of the seized substance which are above the recommended threshold for medical use and banned in the country, were moved to the Agencys facility.

In the same vein, another bid to export through the airport 15 parcels of cannabis and 600grams of tramadol 225mg concealed in a sack of crayfish to Dubai, UAE was equally thwarted by operatives who seized the consignment and subsequently arrested a freight agent, Osahor Alex Ekwueme, who presented it for export.

Weeks after NDLEA operatives intercepted 5.20kgs of cannabis concealed in kegs of palm oil going to Dubai at the NAHCO export shed of the airport, the brain behind the consignment, Ifeanyi Egbuwaohia, has been arrested in Igando area of Lagos. Though Ifeanyi works as a technician at Computer Village, Ikeja but beneath his known business he also works with a drug network in Dubai, where he sends illicit drugs for distribution. Few hours after his arrest, another consignment of 2.60kgs of the same substance sent by him for export to Dubai was also intercepted by operatives at the airport.

Another consignment of 1.30kgs of cannabis concealed in reconstructed engine blocks going to Dubai have also been seized at the SAHCO export shed while two persons: Olatunji Kehinde Temiola and Osemojoye Femi Sunday have been arrested in connection to the bid.

Meanwhile, In Kaduna state, a female drug dealer, Peace Ayuba, was on Friday 7th October arrested at Kakau Gonin Gora with seventy eight (78) bags of cannabis sativa weighing 849.5kgs, while operatives in Sokoto state arrested Onyeka Owo, 28, with 443 bottles of codeine based syrup.

Ten months after his arrest by NDLEA, a notorious drug dealer in Alaba Rago area of Ojo, Lagos, Alhaji Surajo Mohammed has been convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Lagos presided over by Justice Yellin Dogoro. Surajo was arrested with 941.15kgs cannabis on Monday 20th December 2021 and arraigned in court in charge number FHC/L/370c/2021. In his judgment delivered on Thursday 6th October 2022, the Judge however gave the convict an option of seven million naira fine.

While commending the officers and men of the MMIA, Kaduna, Sokoto and Lagos commands for the feats, Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd) urged them and their compatriots across the country to remain steadfast, resolute and unrelenting until the last gram of illicit drugs is taken away from the streets of Nigeria.

UNKNOWN GUNMEN EXTEND THEIR MANIACAL FURY TO AKWA IBOM SONS

Yesterday, October 7, began another day of mourning in Akwa Ibom State. It came on the heels of the death of Mr Imoh Isang who is said to have been gunned down alongside his police orderly, Inspector Linus Odey by people suspected to be members of IPOB and operating a heartless killer wing called unknown gunmen.

Imoh Isang popularly known as DIG was hacked down yesterday while on official assignment to outside the State through Owerri. The details of the gruesome murder are gory and heart-rending. The body of the vivacious, ebullient, warm and super active Chief Protocol Officer to Senator Bassey Albert, the gubernatorial candidate of YPP is said to have been brought back to Akwa Ibom yesterday "lifeless" and deposited in the mortuary. But in a sane clime , DIG and the police orderly had no business dying. They were not traveling at odd hours. Isang may have deemed that he supposedly protected in the refuge of an armed policeman. But rather than be a protection, the presence of an armed policeman became his albatross. Adopting the style of guerilla warfare, these barefaced criminals who couch their sub- culture activities under the pretence of agitation ambushed and opened fire on vehicles. The conducts conduce with cowardice which give vent to the type of violence they perpetrate and which is now a recurring decimal.

Imo and the police orderly were on a legimate mission. They neither offended the law nor man nor tribe. They were not even given an opportunity to stir an altercation to justify or merit the unwholesome death. They were cut short by a bunch of unscrupulous criminals who have completely lost their humanity and turned themselves into murderous maniacs that relish taking other people's lives .

Many questions arise from the activities of IPOB and its extraction being the unknown gunmen. What are they really looking for? If they are for the sovereignty of Biafra, why are they spilling the blood of innocent people? Do they need blood to build their nation? It is a fact that if this savagery is not halted, it may affect the relationship of the Igbos with other regions. Sometime ago, a prominent politician of Northern extraction, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak was killed in Imo State. Less than a month ago, the convoy of Senator Ifeanyi Uba was attacked and about a dozen people killed. One of the victims of that dastardly act was an Akwa Ibom son who was a photographer to the Senator. Coincidentally, his remains were brought back to the State earlier yesterday while another of our illustrious son, Imoh Isang was felled same yesterday in the same Igbo land. This trend is worrisome and unlikely to promote good neigbourliness.

DIG was a jolly good fellow; jovial, affable and sociable. One can not forget his standard response to the name DIG, "one that can not be retired". This jocular mindset may have been the adrenaline behind his sense of service. Imoh Isang was not only a workaholic, he carried out any work assigned him with an extreme sense of devotion. He believed in hard work and made it his creed. And it was in the course of work that he met the untimely death that has brought a pall of gloom to the Akwa Ibom community.

To Senator Bassey Albert and the families of the deceased including Inspector Linus Odey, I extend my deepest condolences and pray God to comfort and uphold them in these very difficult times.
