If you wrote jamb last year and your school is yet to finish 2022 admission process, I advice you take UTME this year as plan B. If the school you picked don't later give you admission and jamb round up 2023 UTME registration, you will have to wait till 2024. Be wise so that you won't stay another 365 days at home 😊.

*2023 JAMB UPDATES*
1. Registration for 2023 UTME commences January 14 till February 14, 2023.

2. Direct Entry registration commences from February 20 to April 20, 2023.

3. The optional UTME mock exam is fixed March 16. Candidates are to show interest for the mock exam and pay a sum of N1,000 service charges for the conduct of the mock exam at the point of registration.

4. The main UTME exam is fixed on April 29 - May 12, 2022.

5. Candidates are to embark on the creation of their profile (profile code) before the commencement of the registration.

Using your unique mobile number, not used by any other person for Jamb before, send NIN, a space between, and your 11-digit NIN numbers, to 55019 or 66019. A profile code of 10 characters will be sent to you as SMS. Ensure you have N50 airtime to do this. You'll proceed to a Jamb centres around you to complete your registration afterwards

*NECO RELEASES 2022 SSCE results*

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2022 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination(SSCE).
It blacklisted 29 supervisors for allegee involvement in various malpractice offences during the just concluded examination.
NECO Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, who announced the results on Thursday at the NECO Headquarters in Minna, said four schools were recommended for de-recognition for two years due to their involvement in mass cheating during the exercise.

: Federal University Lafia Submits To NUC's Order, Announces Resumption Date

The Federal University Lafia (FULafia) has, without hesitation, expressed its readiness to resume academic activities on its campuses.
The university management released a circular in the early hours of Monday, sequel to the latest directive given by the Federal Ministry of Education, through the National Universities Commission (NUC), commanding all vice-chancellors to re-open their institutions immediately.

The University slated October 10, 2022, for resumption of lectures.

A final year student of Benue State University, Soohemba Agatha Aker, has drágged President Buhari and the 36 state governors to court over the lingering ASUU strike.

Breaking: Court orders ASUU to call off strike

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has just ruled in favour of the Nigerian Govt and has ordered the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to go back to work with immediate effect.

This is coming as the federal government recently filed a lawsuit against striking lecturers.

This was said by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, yesterday, while addressing newsmen.

According to him, the court movement is to counsel 'our brothers' (ASUU) as well as reminding them of the laws guiding strikes.

Insecurity: Avoid Kaduna Airport, Shehu Sani Advises Protesting Students

Former lawmaker, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday, advised the National Association of Nigerian Students that they should stay away from Kaduna airport as they protest against the prolonged strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

He disclosed this on his Twitter handle.

Sani further stated that the forest near Kaduna Airport is unsafe, saying, “NANS should avoid Kaduna International Airport;you know that forest nearby, e get as e bi.”

Air Travellers Trek As Students Protest At Lagos Airport

Air travellers on Monday were forced to trek to get to the airport due to the blockade of the road by some students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students, protesting the strike of their lecturers.

Due to the protest, travellers trekked to the airport. Meanwhile, some Lagosians have been making brisk business out of helping travellers carry their luggage to the airport.

FG Vs ASUU: Court Adjourns Case To September 19

The National Industrial Court has adjourned the suit filed by the Federal Government, challenging the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to Monday, September 19 for a hearing of the interlocutory application of the Federal Government.

At the resumed sitting on Friday, counsel to the Federal government, James Igwe, asked the court to give the suit an accelerated hearing due to the urgency of the matter to enable the students to return to school.

Igwe told the court that since the matter was already in court, it would be proper for the strike to be called off, pending the determination of the suit.
