His Royal Majesty, The Ohinoyi Ebira , Alh (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, called for calm on August 31, 2024, following the burning of a masquerade mask in Eika Adagu, Okehi Local Government Area.

The Ohinoyi made the statement while responding to media inquiries at his palace. He had been informed of the incident by the Ohi of Eika, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Momohjimoh Opewu, on August 29. The Ohi of Eika had indicated that the Ohirebas would be reporting the matter to the Ohinoyi, formally.

On August 30, the forum of Ohirebas were at the Ohinoyi Palace to present their case to the Ohinoyi through their spokespersons. They expressed their deep displeasure over the incident.

In response, the Ohinoyi commended them for reporting peacefully and urged them to remain calm. He asked if they knew the perpetrators and promised to invite them to the palace to hear their own side of the story. He also pledged to form a committee of relevant Stakeholders to work with him in mediating on the matter objectively.

The Ohinoyi pledged to put measures in place to prevent future reoccurrence of such incident, and foster lasting peace among his subjects, regardless of religious differences.

Finally , the revered Monarch admonished all Ebiras on the need for religious tolerance, emphasizing that it is senseless to fight over religion, which belongs to God, and God alone rewards worshipers.

*Ohinoyi Ebira Received Several Groups On Courtesy Visit*

On August 16, 2024, His Royal Majesty, Ohinoyi Ebira received three groups who paid him a royal homage. The groups, comprising of Senior Ebira Management Staff members of the Federal College of Education Okene led by Dr. Godwin Oyinbo, Management of the Kogi State Polytechnic led by the Polytechnic’s Rector Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo, and Club 14 Abuja, visited to pledge their allegiance, seek his fatherly support, and familiarize themselves with the monarch.

In his response, His Royal Majesty, Alh Dr. Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, welcomed the groups and expressed gratitude to Allah for making the visit possible. He acknowledged their requests and accepted their loyalty, urging them to eschew religious, clannish, and ethnic sentiments and work towards the progress of Ebiraland and Kogi State.

The Ohinoyi encouraged the two educational institutions to maintain their high standards in educational and moral instruction, as they play a crucial role in grooming future leaders. He assured them of his open-door policy, stating that the palace belongs to the people and not him, and offered his support whenever needed.
