While there were plenty of positives from the 2020-21 season, the campaign ended in huge disappointment when we lost the Europa League final on penalties.
With the new season upon us, some of the country’s best journalists have looked back on last season in the RoM charity season preview , with mixed views on how much progress Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made and whether he is the right man for the job.

The Athletic: Let’s be honest, if he hadn’t jutted out his foot to score that goal in 1999 he wouldn’t have even been on an 80-man shortlist for the job. A club with United’s ambitions just doesn’t go for the guy who was previously at Molde and Cardiff City. Yet it didn’t work – or, rather, it worked only to a point – with Jose Mourinho, who was the big scary manager for the big scary job, and wasn’t exactly great fun with the other two managers, post-Fergie, either. Louis van Gaal’s team was the least watchable I have ever seen at United and David Moyes, to quote Sam Allardyce, aged ten years in six months. And Solskjaer? There are parts of the job that clearly suit him. He brings people together, the players like and respect him, he’s popular with the fans and he has had some great results. He’d no dud. And I like the way Ed Woodward, for all his flaws, ignored all the noise and stood by him, even in the moments early on when it felt like Solskjaer might be a three-star coach at a five-star club.
It’s just hard, at the same time, to categorise him as an elite manager when he hasn’t won anything. It’s harsh sometimes, football, and we would probably judge him a lot differently if the Europa League final had ended more happily. But it didn’t – and that means he still has to show he can turn United’s improvement into the hard currency of trophies.

3... Education📚.. One of every man greatest achievement is to bodly said I sent my woman to school b4 she became my wife💪.. But don't be an illiterate of what u making a woman 2b literated of🙏.. we hardly see a well educated woman with options to choose, now marrying an illiterated man bcox he sent her 2 school☝️. “We met six months before our graduation and started dating. We were deeply in love and everyone knew about us. His family knew my family and I was always in constant touch his mother. Everyone already assumed we were going to get married and we pictured our future together. We even made plans how we wanted our house to be, the number of kids we wanted to have and all of that. We dated for 5 years and that’s a lot of years for a lady to invest in one relationship. But I believed it was worth it because everything pointed towards marriage and we were open to each other. We just wanted to make some money and plan for our wedding. It was working according to our plans as we did the marriage introduction. It was a happy day for me. Do you know what it feels when you finally realize you are settling down with someone who is your friend and you’re in love with for many years? That’s a perfect match made in heaven. After the introduction, we started planning for our marriage and at the same time, he got a scholarship for his master’s degree in Canada. I pressed for us to go on with the wedding plan but he said we shouldn’t rush anything. He made me believe it would be better and more fulfilling for him to get to Canada first and make plans for me to come over within two or three years. Everything else can follow. His family supported him and since we have been together all these years, I had no reason to doubt him. He travelled to Canada and began his program. We kept in touch and I often went over to his family house to spend time with his mother. I was already seen as part of their family. Then one day, he called and told me we had to end the relationship. I told him we were on the verge of getting married, but he said he found someone else in Canada and he is ready to move on with his life. I should do same too. I felt he was joking and I told him we had to have that conversation another time. Another time, nothing changed. His mind was made up and there was nothing anyone could do about it. I was heartbroken and depressed. It took me two years to recover from the shock of what happened. I am strong now and have moved on with my life. Hopefully, I still believe in love and I hope to find my own man.”
