What a way to celebrate Nigeria's DIAMOND Jubilee.
Suffering and smiling.
No basic amenities.
The capital of poverty.
A country where even the first Millennium Development Goal has not been achieved but she has initiated the Sustainable Development Goal. My question is: What are we sustaining? Poverty? Hunger? Illiteracy? What?
A country that has used hunger as a weapon to destroy the reasoning, judgement and future of it's youth; and also used it as a strategy to rig elections.
A country where the law is only kept by the poor while the rich get away with impunity.
A country where security protect the rich and kill the poor.
A country where Justice is always twisted to the detriment of the poor.
A country that spends more money on frivolities than on capital project.
A country that put zero value on integrity.
A country that when you mention as a citizen in other countries makes you a suspect.
A country that doesn't value life.
A country where doctors and other health personnels are treated as TRASH.
A country that has nothing to offer to it's citizens but wants the citizens to kill for the country.
A country where terrorist are not labeled terrorist while peaceful protesters are labeled terrorist.
A COUNTRY WITH MISPLACED PRIORITY

I have just ordered security agencies to carry out full investigation into the activities of one Mr Peter, the self acclaimed man of God and presiding pastor of “New Jerusalem church” located within Ageva axis of Okene Local Government Area.

This directive became necessary after some of his alleged ungodly activities were published on social media by concerned members of the public.

I want to sincerely appreciates those who blew the whistle and exposed the alleged atrocities of Mr Peter who operate in the name of church activities and I assure the public that details of his investigation will be made public in due course.

I understand that Kogi state government is tirelessly working round the clock trying to curb the high rising crimes of rubbery and Kidnapping in the state—I acknowledge the efforts and give credits to the state government for the successes recorded so far in combating crimes in the state.

However, I have the following observation and recommendation to make:

I have observed that the quest towards combating rubbery and Kidnapping in the state is mostly concentrated on the roads that leads to the state capital and it's environs. That is; OKene-Lokoja road.

On that note, I am suggesting and imploring that if not all, half of the energy should also be given to our people who are farming around OKene-Ajaokuta and Okene-Okpella-achoze roads respectively. Those of us who have relatives who farm around these places knows the dangers people around there are exposed to.

Kidnappers has shifted their attentions from Lokoja road to the roads mentioned above. Thus, state government should shift the security's attention to those places too. Farmers there can no longer go to their farms without the fear of being kidnapped.

Not fewer than four to five different cases of Kidnapping along those places are recorded in a week. Most times, it's the poor farmers that are the victims and when held captive, ransoms in millions will be placed on them and bargains will begin between the captive's family and the faceless abductors until common grounds are reached between them.

The fight against crime in the state shouldn't be a lopesided one, it should cut across the length and breadth of the state.
