JUDGMENT IN GEMADE'S Suit AGAINST APC, ALIA, AND INEC CHALLENGING HIGH COURT'S VERDICT IS RESERVED BY APPEAL COURT.

Makurdi Court of Appeal In the appeal filed by Senator Barnabas Gemade contesting the decision of the Federal High Court Makurdi, which dismissed his lawsuit challenging the alleged gubernatorial election of the APC in Benue State, the judicial division headed over by Justice M. A. Danjuma has reserved judgment.
After all parties adopted their argumentative briefs, with the exception of the Independent Electoral Commission, the appeal was reserved for judgment.
Chief Jubrin Okutepa SAN, the head of the Sen. Gemade campaign, urged the court to accept the appeal on the grounds that no APC governorship primary was held in Benue in accordance with the laws currently in effect, particularly the electoral act as modified.
In addition, JS Okutepa argued that INEC had been given notice of all appeal proceedings but had failed to respond with any legal arguments, which would have implied approval of the appellants' arguments.
Both the attorney for Rev. Fr. Alia, Usman Sule, and the attorney for APC, Mathew Burka SAN, asked the court to dismiss the appeal because it was filed too late.
Sen. Gemade filed a lawsuit against the APC, Rev. Fr. Alia, and INEC, requesting a declaration that the purported APC Primaries, which were allegedly held on May 27 and June 09, 2022, and which allegedly produced Alia as the party's flag bearer, were not carried out in accordance with sections 77 and 84 of the Electoral Act of 2022, as Amended, and that, as a result, Alia's purported candidacy.

BISHOP OYEDEPO CHARGES NIGERIA YOUTHS TO STAY AND FIX THE COUNTRY.

Dr. David Oyedepo, Chancellor of Covenant University in Ota, has urged the Federal Government to make significant investments in human capital to rebuild the nation's lost respect.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Saturday in Ota, Ogun, Oyedepo made the call and stated that everyone needed to stay in Nigeria to fix the country.
Because this was the most viable and reliable stock that any county could ever invest on, the chancellor emphasized the necessity for increased investment in human capital development.
More investment education is required because it is the cornerstone of any country's sustainable national growth, according to Oyedepo.
He said that due to the country's insufficient investment in infrastructure, it has lost its sense of self.
Therefore, in order to decrease young migration abroad, the chancellor asked the Federal Government to foster an atmosphere that allows youth to prosper.
"Parents need to reorientate their children," she continued, noting that leaving the country was not recommended because there were several young people who got lost abroad and were ashamed to return home.
To rebuild and regain the lost prestige of Nigeria, we must all remain here.
Everyone has a role to play in his country's rehabilitation, he said.

BUHARI PICKS SENATOR ABDULLAHI- ADAMU AS NEW APC CHAIRMAN

Impeccable sources at the highest echelon of power within the APC say the former Nasarawa governor's fate 'is as good as sealed'

After months of horsetrading, two-time governor of Nasarawa State and now three-time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Abdullahi Adamu, has been penciled down as substantive chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) come March 26, 2022.

Senator Adamu, impeccable sources say, is President Muhammadu Buhari’s choice and ”his emergence as good as sealed already,” one of the very authoritative sources told Prime Business Africa late Tuesday night.

Independent checks by this multimedia organisation late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning indicate that Mr Buhari’s choice of Senator Adamu is already positively sold to ‘the blocs within the political party.’

The ruling APC, which has been grappling with challenges as it counts down to its National Convention, now slated for on March 26, had reserved its chairmanship position to Adamu’s North Central Nigeria. This newspaper had also Tuesday night reported exclusively the list of all national offices as allocated to all the geopolitical zones.

The list which Prime Business Africa reported as having been approved by President Buhari on Tuesday evening, gave the National Secretary position to the SouthWest; National Publicity Secretary to the South South, National Deputy Chairman (South) went to Southeast, among others.

Abdullahi Adamu was governor and served out two tenures of eight years in Nasarawa between may 29, 1999 and May 29, 2007 under the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) . He cross-carpeted to the APC during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015 as the ex-president sought to retain power in a keenly contested election he eventually lost to the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.

He has been Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since 2011.

Authoritative sources within the APC and the Presidency said that Senator Adamu was chosen by Buhari and his men ”because of his political prowess, experience and grace.”
