It’s 10 years of helping educators, entrepreneurs, career professionals, students, and whatnot, to improve their written and spoken communications in English.

PS: The picture on the first slide was gifted me by my young student, Yusei, who during the session sometime in 2020, asked that I flex my biceps.

I wasn’t aware that he was going to make a drawing of me. A few days later, therefore, Yusei shared that picture with me. Although I have many beautiful pictures of me during coaching sessions, I love the one from Yusei as one of my favourites.

Starting today, it should be my display photo for 10 days.

I promised my Instagram story family that I was going to share this story on Friday, yesterday, but I was unable to. It’s all in an attempt to acknowledge one’s progress over time.

I recently started to embrace this Igbo proverb which says, ‘Ufö di mma goo gi n’aka, o nweghi onye ma 9 bury na obi a diri mma’, which, when translated into English, means ‘the lizard that jumped from the high iroko tree to the ground said it would praise itself if no one else did’.

In simpler terms, take pride in your achievements and capabilities, even if others don’t acknowledge them.

This was the very first training programme I organised beyond the shores of the school. I mean, I had been training teachers since 2014, but every training programme was organised by the schools where the teachers taught.

This programme, entitled ‘Speak Like a Boss’, had 5 participants.

Fun fact: Incase you’re wondering if learning English is for everyone, the following were participants in that training programme:

1. Auto rickshaw (keke) driver
2. Pastor
3. Educator
4. Student
5. Techie

Over the years, I have conducted several other training programmes including my signature coaching programme, Transform Your Speech.

It’s amazing what a long way I have come. Remember to take pride in your achievements and capabilities, even if others don’t acknowledge them.

My first product, How to Properly Pronounce 100 Words Often Mispronounced by Speakers, has gotten into the hands of about 280 people.

I decided late 2023 that one of the things that I would really improve on is celebrating my small wins.

Those who know me personally know how much of a private person I am. This has affected my zest to share and celebrate small wins; little progress. Hence, I have decided to share this small win with you all!🏆🥂
