Breaking: Just Few Months After Ascending Throne, King Charles III Diagnosed With Deadly Illness

King Charles has been diagnosed with a form of cancer, says Buckingham Palace.
It is not prostate cancer, but was discovered during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
The type of cancer has not been revealed, but according to a palace statement the King began "regular treatments" on Monday.
Buckingham Palace says the King "remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible".
He will postpone his public engagements and it is expected other senior royals will help to stand in for him during his treatment.

No further details are being shared on the stage of cancer or a prognosis.
The King, 75, returned to London from Sandringham in Norfolk on Monday morning and the palace says he has commenced treatment as an outpatient.
Although he will pause his public events, the King will continue with his constitutional role as head of state, including paperwork and private meetings.
He was seen at a church service in Sandringham on Sunday, where he waved to crowds.
He had a prostate procedure at a private London hospital more than a week ago.
The King had chosen to go public about his prostate treatment, with the aim of encouraging more men to get prostate checks, the palace said at the time.
He was said to have been delighted to have raised awareness about the issue, with the NHS website reporting a surge in issues about prostate conditions.
For many types of cancer, the chance of getting it increases with age. UK figures suggest, on average each year, more than a third (36%) of new cancer cases were in people aged 75 and over.

Trouble For Kwankwaso, NNPP As Civil Society Group Moves To Mobilize Over 500 Lawyers To Defend APC’s Gawuna In Supreme Court

No fewer than 500 private legal practitioners have volunteered to defend the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Kano State, Nasir Gawuna, at the Supreme Court.

The lawyers, under the aegis of the Guardians of Democracy and Rule of Law, said the move is to save Nigeria’s democracy from vote riggers and serial election fraudsters.

Having secured victories at the governorship election petition tribunal and Appeal Court, the legal practitioners expressed confidence that Gawuna will again emerge at the Supreme Court.

They made this known at a press conference on Tuesday through their spokesman, Barr. Joseph E. Onwudiwe.

"Nigerians have observed keenly the situation unfolding in Kano state regarding the March 18 Governorship election. As a group saddled with the onerous responsibility of safeguarding our democratic ethos and values, we are no longer comfortable with the unwarranted attacks on the judiciary and moves to blackmail the Court into giving backing to wanton electoral malfeasance and vote heist," the statement said.

"We will no longer fold our arms as lawyers and watch the judiciary be continuously harangued, and the temple of Justice desecrated by a group of people who failed to perfect an electoral heist and inflate their votes by over 165,000 in a desperate bid to win the March 18 2023 Kano state governorship election at all cost.

"It is on the above premise that we wish to salute the courage and sound reasoning that resonated in the judgements of the tribunal and the Court of Appeal which dispensed justice by allowing the overwhelming yearnings and aspirations of the majority of Kano citizens, as expressed in the valid number of votes cast in the March 18 Kano Governorship election, to stand against the selfish interest of a few who planned to subvert the democratic exercise through electoral fraud and vote manufacturing.

"We are not surprised that the sacked governor of Kano state and his hired agents have become insistent in selling propaganda in the name of a contradiction in the CTC of the Appeal Court Judgement. Nigerians will have nothing but pity for a party in a suit who finds no premise upon which to launch a successful appeal against a judgement backed by law and fact.

"May we repeat here that the judgement of the Court of Appeal on this case was a very straightforward one which rightly dismissed the appeal of Abba K. Yusuf and upheld his sack by the tribunal? The courts envisaged clerical errors in judgement and therefore embedded in their handbook and rules, enactments that empower the Court to vary its judgement to reflect its original intentions.

"Like the Order 23 Rule 4 of the Court of Appeal handbook which empowered them to recall the CTC of their judgments and correct clerical errors like that of the Kano guber judgement. This has also been judicially noticed and treated in a plethora of cases such as Ajibola vs state and Okibe vs Kekere.

"May we also use this opportunity to urge Nigerians to not cave into the misleading narrative being pushed by the agents of the Kano Governor who are grasping at the clerical error on page 67 of the CTC of the Court of Appeal judgement to bring the honourable justices who delivered the sound judgment to public disrepute?

"The importance of the judiciary in keeping our democracy alive and thriving can never be overemphasized, it is on this background that we implore the Supreme Court to dispense justice in this appeal before it without taking into consideration, the distractions and attempts at blackmail. We are with the Judiciary and we assure them of our unflinching support as they move to save Nigeria’s democracy from vote riggers and election fraudsters. We must sanitize our electoral system now and build a strong democratic wall against vote inflation and other electoral malfeasance. "

The lawyers, therefore, called on "peace-loving Nigerians to arise in defense of our cherished democracy from this desperate politician who is using every illegal means to blackmail our judiciary into giving authenticity to electoral fraud by allowing a man who manufactured over 165,000 to seize power at the expense of the overwhelming yearnings and aspirations of the majority of Kano citizens, as clearly expressed in the valid votes cast at the March 18 Kano governorship election. "

*Kano Court of Appeal Ruling: Lawyers Back Verdict, Warn Keprogi, Others From Campaign of Calumny Against Judiciary*

A group of legal practitioners, Guardians of Democracy and Rule of Law has warned Farooq Kperogi, a Nigerian professor based in the United States (US) and anti-democratic elements to desist from further campaigns of calumny against the judiciary.

The caution by the lawyers trails the Appeal Court ruling on the March 2023 gubernatorial election in Kano State.

The Appellate Court in Abuja last Friday upheld the Kano state governorship petition tribunal’s verdict that nullified Abba Yusuf’s election.

In the judgment, the three-member panel of the appellate court held that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) breached the Constitution by sponsoring Yusuf, who was not a party member.

In a statement by its secretary, Barr. M.I Gardo, the lawyers hailed the justices for again proving to be impartial, independent, and strong in the face of intimidation by groups like the Kwankwasiyya.

Gardo, however, said that any attempt to ridicule the judiciary must be resisted by all Nigerians.

"As a body of lawyers dedicated to the defence of the rule of law and democracy in Nigeria, we wish to draw the attention of the vast majority of Nigerians to the implication of the actions of Kperogi and others on the reputation and integrity of the Court of Appeal," he said.

"While it is succinct to state that the Justices of the Court of Appeal delivered a sound judgment in line with the provisions of the law, the diatribe perpetuated by the NNPP and its hirelings like Kperogi and others smacks of mockery and an attempt to ridicule the judiciary.

"It must be stated that Abba Kabiru Yusuf’s nomination as the Candidate of the NNPP for the March 18 Kano State Governorship election was in clear breach of Section 177(1c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.

"The deduction 165,000 votes from the total votes cast for the candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in the March 18 Kano governorship election by the Court of Appeal is also a very sound and well-reasoned judgement predicated on the strength of Section 63 of the electoral act 2022, as amended, which mandates INEC not to count ballot papers that do not bear the official mark of the commission.

"We wish to also, very importantly, warn Nigerians of the dangers the NNPP through its subsidiary, the Kwankwasiyya group, poses for our young democracy. A group that adopts violence, falsehood, destruction and flagrant breach of our laws as its tactics to win elections in Nigeria if not quickly checked, will soon bring our democracy to its knees. The Kwankwasiyya movement is unfit for our democracy and civil society. We urge the NNPP group to immediately sever every tie with the movement!

"This anti-Democratic tendency of the group has been much evident in the serial campaigns of calumny and tantrums it has continued to throw at the respected honourable justices of the Court of Appeal instead of towing the path of democracy and rule of law by appealing the judgement if it is dissatisfied with the ruling.

"We further observed that the ultimate aim is to cause disrepute to the Justices of the Court of Appeal and discredit the judiciary's impartiality in Nigeria. This action is an affront and an assault that must be rebuffed."

The group, therefore, vowed to defend the judiciary and urge them not to succumb to blackmail but to dispense justice without Fear.

"We also want to use this opportunity to warn the NNPP, Kwankwasiyya group, Kperogi and other anti-Democratic elements to desists immediately forthwith from campaigns of calumny against our hallowed temple of justice and the bench.

"The impartiality of the judiciary in Nigeria is never in doubt. An independent, strong, respected, and respectable judiciary is indispensable for the impartial administration of Justice in a democratic State.

"Finally, we wish to invite the DSS, Nigerian Police Force, and other relevant security outfits in Nigeria to take notice of the unguarded utterances of the above names persons and organizations against the bench and deal with the matter expeditiously while providing the needed security for uninterrupted justice dispensation in Nigeria."

*BREAKING: CSO Writes INEC, Demands De-Registration of NNPP Over Anti-Democratic Tendencies*

The Guardians of Democracy and Rule of Law (GDRL) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to de-register the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP).

The group, in a statement signed by Augustine Aaron Ugboha, Esq, and read to the press shortly after submitting the petition to INEC, said this has become necessary over the anti-democratic tendencies, violence, intimidation, arson, and killings linked to members of the party known as Kwankwasiyya political movement.

Ugboha said the group, comprising some top government officials, has unleashed mayhem on innocent citizens following the tribunal judgment that sacked Governor Abbah Yusuf.

Barr Ugboha recalled that Baffa Abdullahi Bichi, the Secretary to the Kano State Government even went as far as declaring that “there will be no peace in Nigeria if tribunajudgmentnt is against us”.

He added: "Recently, we noticed that our democracy has come under serious threat by the activities of a political group in Kano state, known as the Kwankwasiyya political movement. This group has been alleged to employ every anti-democratic tendency; violence, intimidation, arson, killing, etc., in pursuit of their political interests.

"Indeed, the Kwankwasiyya movement has since become notorious for its disruptive and reckless nature, but our attention was only drawn to their anti-democratic activities before and during the recejudgmentent of the Kano state governorship election petition tribunal that sacked Governor Abbah K. Yusuf of NNPP and declared Nasir Gawuna Yusuf of APC the validly elected governor of the state. It was with great displeasure and glaring unease that we read the reckless and unguarded utterances of those who are at the leadership echelon of the movement.

"The judiciary is an important component of our electoral system and our democracy. It is therefore an unpardonable blunder for members of the state cabinet council to attempt to use unconstitutional means to intimidate the judiciary out of its legal duties by threatening judges sitting over the case of their principal.

"As if that was not enough, when The Honourable Judges of the Kano State Election petition tribunal commented on the terror nature of the Kwankwasiya Group, through a member of the Kano State tribunal, Justice Benson Anya, who noted in his judgment that it was wrong of any individual or group to 'threaten the entire polity of Kano State with violence' because of a court decision.

"He further pointed out how the violent group and political party chased them out of the state using violence, and put them in fear for their lives. He condemned 'the gang of Red Cap wearers (Kwankwasiya group) who, like a violent and terrorist cult, chased us out of Kano and put us in the fear of our lives', the Kwankwasiyya grodared to again threaten to petition Hon. Justice Benson Anya before the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC).

"The fact that members of the bench are conservative and do not comment on such issues has made it our solemn duty as lawyers to rise to their defense against a group that is irrevocably determined to end our democracy with uncultured behavior and disruptive violence.

"It is also worrisome to know that such anti-democratic group has since mainstreamed into our political party system through the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP).

"It is on the foregoing that we are urging INEC based on Sections 227 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) which specifically provides 'No association shall retain, organize, train or equip any person or group of persons enabling them to be employed for the use or display of physical force or coercion in promoting any political objective or interest or in such manner as to arouse reasonable apprehension that they are organised and trained or equipped for that purpose', to immediately de-register the NNPP as a political party in Nigeria until it purges itself of the cankerworm (Kwankwasiyya)."

Why are you guys attacking this young man? So una think say he'll leave a conglomerate his father suffered to build for who exactly?

Do you know how much such church worths? Oh, you don't know it's also business. Oh, so when Nigerian pastors builds the world biggest church auditorium, you think they are building it for God? Oh I forgot that when most of you look at such mighty edifices, you boast of how the name of God is glorified in Nigeria, while pastors families that owns them simply sees future investments for their kids.

A pastor will try to convince you that rapture is at hand, yet he keeps grooming his kids to take over his church conglomerates.

Wait na make Oyedepo, Adeboye, Enenche etc pass away first. Then go and drag the ownership of his church with their kids na.

The real problem is not the pastors, but the pawn members of the church who do not understand that Pentecostalism is a business conglomerate. And the pastors and their families are glad that these their members can't reason, and that they'll even die defending their own family business. They urge you to win customers for them, na you dey think say na soul you dey win.

👇Congratulations my brother. Abeg ribe ife nna gi dobere. Those their papa no leave anything for just dey envy you.
