A sick child requires proper medical attention and you must ensure that child take his/her medicine at the appropriate time or else that child will never recover if you choose to look at the child's face each time you want to give the child an injection you will end up killing that child but after forcing the medication on the child you see the child smiling or playing few hours later Africa is that sick child and must be treated at all cost Shalom. MY CULTURE IS MY IDENTITY: MY STORY

By Rev. Fr. Angelo Chidi Unegbu ([email protected]) written April 9, 2021

1) During my 4th year (SS1) as a minor seminarian, my cousin and classmate Fr. Elias Chima Unegbu (of blessed memory) and myself decided to spend our Easter holidays together at Owerri with our uncle Bishop Mark Unegbu, the then bishop of Owerri diocese. The day we arrived coincided with the first day of the Ikeji festival. The bishop, who was not expecting to see us, asked, "When is Ikeji beginning?" "It began today, my Lord," we answered. “Why are you here? Why did you not go to the village to celebrate with others?” The question threw us off balance because it was the least we had expected from him. We had thought that he would have been happy that we decided to spend the holidays on the holy grounds of Assumpta Cathedral rather than going to the village to celebrate what was largely considered a ‘non-Christian’ festival. He did not ask us any other questions. Quickly, we retired to the boys’ quarters, where we normally stayed each time we visited.

2) The next day, after breakfast, he asked us to dress and get our belongings ready so he could take us to the village. As we were driving into the village that sunny afternoon, we were greeted by the sounds of ekwe and other musical instruments. Various chants and Ikeji melodies by young men filled the atmosphere. We saw some masquerades. Some were dancing to the tune of the choruses and instruments as they marched along the road, while others were walking swiftly as if they were late for an appointment. Intermittently, our car was halted by one masquerade or the other, or by young men in frenzy who would later grant us passage. The bishop asked the driver to slow down so that he wouldn't injure anyone.

3) I was sitting with the bishop at the back as he kept on feeding his eyes with those cultural displays. That was the first time he was home during the Ikeji festival as a bishop, I think. Normally, he visited the village once every year on December 26 to celebrate Christmas with the entire family. That was also his last visit to the village during the Ikeji festival. From his countenance, he was very happy for such a rare opportunity. He dropped us off at our family home and returned to Owerri.

4) Because of this and subsequent experiences, my interest in or appetite for deeper knowledge of African/Igbo culture, as well as its religion, politics, and history, grew. The more I tried to know, the more I realized how little I knew, and the more I wept for my long years of ignorance. After my graduate studies before my priestly ordination, I thought that I had understood it all until I traveled to Europe for my postgraduate studies. It dawned on me how little I knew of the beauty, richness, and value of our culture. One of the saddest experiences an African will ever have is being asked by a European professor: Why do you not see the beauty in your culture and tradition? More than once, I had some portions of my theses returned because I did not show my culture enough respect and appreciation. It is sad that I learned to appreciate my cultural values in a foreign land and from a foreigner!

5) Unfortunately, a good number of Ndigbo/Africans are still caged by the chains of cultural ignorance and hate. Many are still in the business of disrespecting their culture and even seeing it as evil and diabolic. We still see men and women of God in the 21st century who still go about demolishing cultural establishments and castigating our cultural norms. Funny enough, these people have no reason to justify their actions except that they were brought up to hate themselves. Many of them do not even know that hatred for African culture, religion, history, tradition, negrophobia, and afrophobia pre-existed the Christian mission. They have little or nothing to do with religion!

6) Well, I do not blame African Afrophobes or negrophobes so much because I once belonged to that school of thought. The truth of the matter is that the education system in Nigeria, at all levels and in all places, is basically faulty and intrinsically destructive. If we don’t move our education system from this imbecilic stage, we will continue to sink into the mud of ignorance, retrogression, and self-destruction. Just like religion, quality education must recognize and develop the educational tools and paradigms of our forebears. It must be rooted in our culture if we are to make progress; otherwise, we shall forever remain imitators, copycats, or dependents.

7) Only natural and organic growth is sustainable and beneficial. Our desired character, cultural, and environmental values can only be realized by pruning to improve on what we already have. It is never done by uprooting, importing, or replacing. That would be a lazy and unwise way to address real human issues.

8) Even with the decline of Christianity in the West, elements of Christianity have remained in their cultures; they still have their flamboyant carnivals, festivals, Dorpsfeest, Santa Claus, and so on. These are ways of sustaining their community consciousness, linking the past generation to the present.

9) We do not condemn or discard Christmas, Easter, or Valentine celebrations as evil because of the aberrations that are today associated with their celebrations. It is also unreasonable to condemn or discard our cultural celebrations and values because of aberrations that have crept into them. Our duty is to remove the aberrations so as to preserve their purity and purpose. May we remember that Ikeji and most of our cultural celebrations are nothing but acts of thanksgiving to God for his love, protection, and provision of bounty harvest.

10) Unfortunately, ours today is to destroy what we have inherited from our forebears instead of transforming (where necessary) and promoting them. May our eyes be open to the reality that our doom or success as a people will depend on our attitude toward our culture, tradition, history, and identity. As for me, I am very grateful to God for letting me be born an Igbo. I thank him for my culture, which gives me my identity and pride. Every African should feel the same about his or her culture and identity.

With the psalmist, I say:
"For it was you, Lord, who created my being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I thank you for the wonder of my being, for the wonders of all your creation." Psalm 138.

As the Ikeji celebration begins today (April 9, 2021), may we remind all the participants that Ikeji is nothing but a celebration of thanksgiving to God for his love and care and also a demonstration of love for our forebears who have gone before us. Let us avoid acts and behavious that might suggest otherwise. Peace be with you!

Why Did the BIBLE 📖 Refer to CHRISTIANS ✝️ as "SHEEP" ???

So, here are some of the 8 CHARACTERISTICS of a SHEEP 🐑

1. Timid, Fearful, Easily Panicked,

2. Dumb, Stupid and Gullible,

3. Stamped Easily, Vulnerable to Mob Psychology,

4. Little or No Means of SELF DEFENSE, Can Only Run,

5. Easily Killed by Enemies,

6. Jealous, Competitive for Dominance,

7. Easily "CAST" That is, Flipped Over on Their Back, Sometimes From Too Much Wool. SHEEP are Unable to rise Themselves and Will Die of STARVATION if Not Turned Over by the Shepherd.,

8. Need the Most Care of ALL Livestock.

Looking at the above would raise ANYONE'S SUSPICION OF THE "REAL" intents of those who wrote the BIBLE.

How did they settle for such a miserably lousy ANIMAL as their choice DEPICTION of the FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST ??

Dear Fada Oluoma ,

I hope you come across this message.

You're one of my favorite religious leaders in Nigeria, and my followers can testify that. However, after reading your letter to one Mr. Mathias, I decided to correct some wrong impressions your post might directly or indirectly raise in the minds of a free African child.

While I appreciate your well articulated letter to Mathias, I wish to let us all know that Christianity did not bring science or technology to us (Ndi Igbo), such teaching is a very wrong teaching, and may send a wrong information to the psyche of an African child. It may also create the impression that every one of us using modern technology is indebted to the christian religion which is not true.

Sccience and scientists deserves the credit for the invention of various technologies, not religion. Various scientists that invented both the ancient and modern techs we use today belong to different religions, cultures, race, etc. And in fact, most of the major scientists that laid the FOUNDATION of today's science were atheists or irreligious. Aside that, there was already science and technology in Africa and Ala Igbo precisely before the coming of Oyibo people, just that we were growing in our own pace, time, and dimension.

Yes, the missionaries just like the colonial government also introduced us to some scientific inventions from the the west, many which were invented by scientists from different religions and backgrounds. In fact, some of such techs were invented by atheist and irreligious scientists. This is to tell us that the work of science belongs to no religion or race.

The colonial government and their missionaries were like middle men looking for their own interests, Africa/Ndi Igbo do not owe them. This is because at the end, our ancestors either paid them with their resources, or by joining and supporting their church (we know how the catholic church and Anglican church were competing on securing denomination territories). Hence, it's wrong for anyone to make it appear as if our people owes the church, or that our people should be grateful or never to leave or criticize the church. We weren't at their mercy, our ancestors lived good and healthy lives based on the standard of when they existed. And for whatever the missionaries or the colonial government brought to us, they gained even more.

Hence, let's stop giving the credits of science and scientists to christianity. Let's not also forget that it was the church that murdered many scientists especially in the medieval era, and labeled them witches, blasphemous, unbelievers, etc. We read how the church was anti-science. It's's even the modern church (thanks to the intelligence of the modern Catholicism) that had to evolve to embrace science and be critical with faith. This even led to Pope Johnpaul ii apologizing on behalf of the church for the death of Galileo and everyother atrocious acts of the church during the dark age. Which we also bring us back to the fact that there's no atrocity some of our ancestors committed in the name of gods or God that the church haven't committed in the name of God in the past, and even somehow in the present too.

Back to the main discussion;

Science belongs to no religion. Science is the product of man's intellect, and it's universal.

On the aspect of education, let's not forget that the oldest trace of formal education points towards Egypt (with ancient Egyptian religion), then to Greece (with ancient Greek religion) before Rome and Isreal. So if Ndi Igbo are to embrace, be grateful, and never to criticize or abandon the christian religion because of the saying that we got formal education from them, then why did Christians abandon and even criticize the ancient Egyptian and Greek religions whom their faithfuls (Egyptian and Greek religions) were the inventors and spreaders of formal education, which even the missionaries benefited from? Why didn't Christians embrace and be grateful to the Egyptian and Greek religions too for giving them formal education? That brings us to another fact that education belongs to no race, religion, or culture, but to man generally. It is a necessity that we all must learn from someone else regardless of religion and race. knowledge is a human right.

Again Padre, I will also add that you study more about the Write Brothers you talked about, because tho they weren't atheists, they weren't religious either. In fact, it was mostly Christians that mocked and discouraged them for trying to dare God by inventing something that would make man fly. I'm sure they would have been imprisoned or killed by Christians if they had existed and came up with the idea in Europe during the medieval era.

It'll shock us all to know that most scientists that invented the earliest and primary level of various techs we use today are either atheist or irreligious. Then among the religious ones, we have not just Christians but Muslims, Buddhists, Vikings, Hindus, etc.

The fathers of this internet we use today Bob Kahn and Vint Cerf are not Christians but irreligious, Tho Bob was born into a Jewish family.

The facebook we are using today was invented by a Jewish cm irreligious Mark Zuckerberg.

I don't even want to talk about atheist or irreligious scientists that shaped modern science like Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Charles Dawins, Thomas Edison, Marie Curie etc. Even Galileo tho a Christian, but was never a conformist as he puts reason before faith. Therefore, must we all become atheist or irreligious because we benefited from from the brain work of such people?
..Or if Onye Odinana invents a good medicine, or helps to ship in neccessary scarce goods for our people to use, does it mean that no igbo should criticize Odinana or reject Odinana because we benefited from Onye Odinana?

Note; this review is not to support Mathias or christianity, nor do I intend to promote atheism, my point and intentions is to tell mostly Igbo Christians to stop blackmailing non Igbo Christians emotionally with the ignorant statement that christianity gave us science or technology whenever anyone queries or criticizes christianity. They even do that without knowing that most of the techs were invented by non Christians.

Again, the Christian religion for almost a century did to omenana exactly what Mathias is doing to the Christian faith today, what I expected from learned Igbo Christian leaders is to first make amendments. The catholic church in Igbo land should apologize to Ndi omenana for the unprovoked destruction and demonization of the traditional institutions for years. From there, we can start looking towards reconciliation, which we bring real tolerance, unity, and sustainability in our society. But making people like Mathias look bad because their criticism against the Christian faith, I would like to note that such showcases lack of honesty.

While we advise people like Mathias not to go extreme with their beliefs, the church should know that they lack the moral impetus to call for tolerance when they have in the past and in present continually criticize and demonize the traditional institutions. In any situation in life, if there's an unprovoked provocation, the first thing to discuss before peace is apology. That's the rule. And Pope Johnpaul ii and even our own Fada Angelo have showcased a good example.

I'm just a freethinker, not here to support any religion.

RICH AND POOR SOCIETIES

Do you know that the earth has been in existence for more than 4 billion years?

Do you know that cockroaches, ants, and reptiles have been in existence for at least 100 million years before we came into existence?

Do you know that most animals that were once landlords of this earth no longer exist today?

Do you know that the formation of the mineral resources we have today took millions of years?

What do you know about the origin of that rock, river, lake, or spring in your village or city?

Do you know for how long humans have existed in your community? Do you know the oldest living thing that ever lived there?

Do you know the origin of your cultural and religious beliefs and practices? Or do you think that the information is unnecessary or unavailable?

Do you even know when humans began to live together or began to have political, religious, or economic consciousness?

To understand who you are, you must understand the world in which you live. Lack of basic knowledge of the world around you leads to poor knowledge of oneself, which in turn leads to pride, selfishness, greed, envy, and back-biting.

There is hardly any hardship, poverty, or setback that is not traceable to ignorance.

To be successful and happy, we must understand the world and the environment in which we live, because what you know determines what you do and how you utilize the opportunities and resources available to you.

Stop wasting your time searching for miraculous breakthroughs. No human breakthrough has ever been achieved miraculously. They all have been achieved through hard work, teamwork, and determination.

Societies that understand and apply this are called rich, whereas those that do not are called poor.

Have a blessed day. Fada Angelo Chidi Unegbu.

Fada Oluoma in your letter to Mathias Ezeaku - Gospel of truth you claimed that all the things Africans are using today is from the western countries who brought Christianity here.

Can I ask you few questions?

Are Chinese also part of the western countries because the last time I checked, they are the ones producing what Africans are using.

What have you guys in Today's church achieve in terms of technology since your forefathers could not achieve anything?

Do you know what is Nka na uzu in Igbo land. Science and technology!

Do you think that our forefathers who had their means of communication, who heals people with herbs, who created their means of transportation etc were not intelligent.

If that is the case, compare them with the ancestors of today's west and compare today's west with our contemporary African society.

Let's see if you as fada is doing anything in the society or you are only wearing white garment to tell your members the history of Israel, traditions of Vatican and collect their morning as offering and tithes. una good money. Fada Oluoma Mathias Ezeaku - Gospel of truth

African leaders are still feeling reluctant to make a change that will benefit their citizens because they know that as long as fear of hellfire and hope of salvation, prosperity and heaven are still installed in our minds we won't be awakened. They know when we are awakened by quitting religion revolution comes next. So they wouldn't want that to happen. This is the reason government will keep funding religion and make it look important because they help keep you hoping for a miracle in the future that will never happen and a paradise they already living on earth. If we don't detox the mentality of believing that there is a place called hellfire and heaven and believing a caucasian God is coming to save Africa from suffering then we are not ready to develop Africa. THE EXAM OF LIFE

Do you still remember the subjects you took in primary and secondary school? Do you actually know why you were not taught just one subject but multiple subjects?

The reason is that life is diverse and multiple. And can be properly understood by looking at all its angles.

Sadly, in Africa, we have a group of people who would prefer to have only religion as a subject.

The group I am referring to is only ready to see everything from a religious perspective.

If you try to discuss the scientific origins of things with them, they accuse you of fighting God. If you tell them how past historical events can influence our future, they accuse you of leading people astray.

If you try to discuss with them how our psychological dispositions influence our actions, they accuse you of sponsoring atheism. If you tell them about culture, they accuse you of leading people back to idolatry. If you teach them physical education or economics, they accuse you of being carnal.

If this group of people had their way, they would simply remove every subject from the school curriculum except religion.

And by religion, do not think they are open to religious analysis or debate or ready to imbibe religious discipline or character, not at all. By religion, they mean sticking to the ideology that God will miraculously do for them what others are doing for themselves.

The people I am talking about would only associate with people of their religious denomination or ideology. They hardly read any books except their religious books.

We are not asking them to stop learning religion or being religious. We are only reminding them not to close their eyes to other subjects of life if they must pass the exam of life.

Our Igbo ancestors that chose dea.th over bo***ge.

In 1803, 75 Igbos chose to drow.n in the Ocean over being sold into sla.very.

According to history, The Igbo slav.es were said to be a rebelli.ous breed.

They'll prefer to d.ie free, than to be bond in chains.

They were stories of how they kill.ed their masters and tried to escape.

So, in 1803, they were been transferred to another slave ship after their first master found out how rebellious they could be.

They were to be transported to a rice plantation which is renowned for brutal work and required strength.

But as the Igbos were crammed together under the deck, chained together,

The crew of the new sla.ve ship got tired of them because they were too noisy.

They went in turns to force them to shut up.

But the Igbos wouldn't listen.

Soon, the crew discovered they were not just making a noise, rather they were chanting in unison.

The chant probably increased their morals and they were able to break loose from their chains.

They hijacked the ship.

At this juncture, one would think they intended to drive home,

But the smart Igbos knowing fully well that they are very far from home, decided to surrender their souls to the water spirit.

They all jumped into the water reciting the song;

" Orimiri Omambala bu anyi bia"
"Orimiri Omambala ka anyi ga ejina"

This translates to;

"The water spirit of Omambala brought us here, the water spirit of Omambala shall take us home"

Omambala is a river in Anambra.

Till date, there are claims that the souls of the revolted Igbo s.laves still dwells in Dunbar Creek.

For in the quietness of the night, one could still hear their distant 'Orimiri' chants.

According to Pete Edochie in an interview, those souls calls for a befitting burial rites to be able to unite with their ancestors in their various hometowns.

MY LOVE FOR PENTECOSTAL CHURCHES I love the Pentecostal churches all over the world. Why? Because they exposed the foolishness in the Bible which turns their Jewish sky daddy a.k.a God into a liar.
The Catholic Church is a very smart business organization! The Catholics knew right from the start that the Bible is a fake piece of hopeless literature and so they NEVER made any attempt at interpreting the Bible fundamentally, rather they merely glossed over it and treated it like a beautiful and artful holy novel.

Then the Pentecostals showed up and accused the Catholics of being too shallow and not being able to dig deep into the Bible and use it to change the lives of people, so they insisted that the words of the Bible have the power to heal sicknesses, save from sin, deliver from curses and evil spirits, enrich people, raise the dead, lead people into heaven, etc. They preached this nonsense for years and converted unsuspecting victims in their droves across the world.

Thankfully, it was digging deep into this scripture that made some of us become awakened as the book is a lifeless and worthless piece of fraud with absolutely no usefulness in reality.
The religious craft would have been more credible than it is today if not for the Pentecostals who in the attempt to dig deep into the Bible and unravel its “glorious mysteries” and “eternal truths” rather ended up exposing the Bible for the trash that it is and helping a lot of people dump religion in the process.

"when you die!, you'll find out"

The only evidence Christians have for an after life.

29/03/2024

1. You don't need to pray before you become a good person.

2. You don't need to eat the flesh and blood of anyone before you have a good character.

3. You don't need to live in a Church before you have quality moral conduct.

4. You don't need to have a pastor before you live a life worthy of emulation.

5. You don't need to fast before you have a good conscience.

6. You don't need to pay tithe before you respect people's rights.

7. You don't need to give offerings before you live a healthy social life.

8. You don't need anointing before you have a good sense of judgment.

9. You don't need the holy spirit or the spirit of anyone before you love your. neighbour.

10. You don't need to speak in tongues before you know what is right or wrong.

11. There was no sacrifice before you became an idiot, therefore, you don't need any baptism to turn a good leaf.

12. If you need to do the above-mentioned things before you behave well, it means you were born a fool.

13. If there was no sacrifice before you became a criminal, you don't need blood or prayer or sacrifice of any sort to turn back. All you need is to decide to be good and that's all.

Get a sense or perish.
