So we came up with a Vodcast show “The Underground Voices” giving voice to the voiceless.

With this show, we will be looking at helping to amplify the cries of the helpless voices, carry out a proper investigative journalism campaigns.

To achieve this, we need your help.

The Presidential Election Petitions Court has dismissed petition challenging Tinubu/Shettima's nomination by APC on the ground that it lacks the powers to hear the petition.

According to the Ruling Court, the petition is a pre-election matters and ought to have been addressed at a high court.

The Tribunal equally ruled that the timeframe of 180 days within which to determine the issue had elapsed.

Enugu State Police Operatives has foiled an attempt to kidnap some road users plying along Ogbeke-Nike, Ugwuogo-Nike/Nsukka road.

According to Police report, some hoodlums had blocked the road and shot sporadically before the police Operatives gallantly responded and neautralised them on the spot.

However, Some escaped into the forest with fatal gunshot wounds.

Enugu State Government has released a statement following the protest at Ogbete market.

"It was with grave concern that the Enugu State government received the ugly incident at Ogbete main market enugu today. Information reaching the government was that those traders whose shops were sealed went ahead to open their shops, which led to confrontation resulting in a protest which was infiltrated and hijacked by dangerously armed men who looted traders wares", the government posits.

According to the statement, attempt by the security operatives to prevent further looting was violently restricted by the imported and armed hoodlums.

In the meantime, investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident including the reports of casualty is already ongoing

The government therefore, calls on Enugu residents to remain calm and go about their lawful businesses as adequate security measures are in place to secure lives and properties in the state.

A woman by name Nkechinyere Onachukwu was kidnapped by gunmen suspected to be herdsmen on her farm in Amaonye Community in Ishiagu Ivo Local Government of Ebonyi State.

According to the council chairman Hon. Emmanuel Ajah he said she was released on Monday 24th July following a manhunt by the security agencies led by himself using trackers brought in from outside the state.

According to the woman, she said she was on her farm harvesting when she was kidnapped by herdsmen. She said she tried screaming for help but was flogged with machetes to keep quiet, she said they trekked for days before arriving at the kidnappers den inside a thick forest. When they got to the den their boss came out and she said she begged him to let her go but he refused saying that she should call her people and she contacted her husband and from there negotiation started.

A total and indefinite strike action has been declared by the The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

This is contained in a statement made available on Tuesday evening where the resident doctors also listed demands, including the immediate payment of the 2023 MRTF, the immediate release of the circular on one-for-one replacement and the payment of skipping arrears among others.

The strike action comes as a blow following an appeal not to embark on the action, made by Speaker House of Representatives during a meeting with the association on Monday.

The Enugu Government commends civil society organisations and residents that took ownership of Government's ban on illegal sit-at-home orders by embarking on peaceful demonstrations in the capital city yesterday.

Enugu state government in previous announcements had directed businesses and shop owners to open for their normal activities on Monday or have the defaulting business premises and shops sealed and that was exactly what he did on Monday 24/7/2023 to enforce its earlier directives.

All businesses that were sealed will remain sealed for one week at the end of which they shall provide their current tax clearance certificates and all other relevant revenue documents to enable the state government to review and consider their formal letters of re_opening

A 24 year old graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has come forward to say that the arrested gunman robbed and r***d her at gunpoint at a hotel in awka on 11th July 2023. She said that the suspect abducted her when she boarded a tricycle along Ifite to Aroma Junction on 10th july 2023,she said she was taken to a hotel where all her valuables were collected from her and they also r***d her before she was allowed to go
When interrogation was going on with the suspect over the new allegation he said he robbed the victim but he didnt r**e her. Meanwhile two pistols were recovered from him. The suspect was caught when the Management of a hotel he lodged alerted the police about his presence in their hotel, when his room was searched two Berreta Pistols were found. He is said to be responsible for the murder of two persons in awka in the last three months.
Investigation is still ongoing and the detectives have promised protect the society and get justice for the victims of the suspects alleged crimes
The residents were also urged to call the Command Emergency Number 112 or 07039194332 if any suspicious movement is noticed
