NNPP UNCOVERS PLANS TO RIG EDO GUBER ELECTION, SET TO HEAD TO COURT:
The New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP) has uncovered plans by the PDP and APC to rig saturday's Governorship election in Edo state.
Speaking while addressing Polling and Collation agents today in Benin City, the party through it's South South National Vice Chairman, Chief Inko Namatebe, warned of serious legal consequences if the two parties go ahead with it's plans to rig the election. "We have directed our polling and collation agents to be on top of their game by being vigilant, sharp enough
to gather evidence for use at the tribunal and above all refuse to sign result sheets if there are percieved irregularities in the polling process". Chief Inko said.
Chief Inko decried the massive deployment of tax payers money by both the PDP and the APC and urged the good people of Edo state to ignore and reject the candidates of the two parties. "We are prepared to go to court because we are aware and very sure that there are plans to rig this election by the two parties. We are the only party fielding a female candidate in this election and the behaviour of the PDP and APC candidates have put our's clearly in a disadvantage so we have resolved to go to court after the election. These people are behaving as if Edo state belong to them, we are ready to challenge every move they would make in subverting the will of the people in Saturday's election", Chief Inko further said.
"Our agents have being properly trained and now very familiar with the provisions of the Electoral Act and the Constitution on infractions and electoral malfeasance on Saturday. Our candidate, Amb Ebun Tracy Agol have demonstrated uncommon love for Edo people. Even in very dare situations and intimidation, she still managed to campaign from house to house, ward to ward, local government to local government and wouldn't be prepared to accept perpetration of illegalities of any form on Saturday", the statement concluded.
