Dangote Industries Limited's oil refinery is facing challenges in procuring local crude oil due to high premium prices imposed by International Oil Companies (IOCs).

According to Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, the IOCs are deliberately frustrating the refinery's efforts to buy local crude by charging prices above market value.

As a result, the refinery is forced to import crude oil from countries like the United States, incurring higher costs. The refinery, which has a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is the largest single-train refinery globally.

Despite its significance, the company is struggling to access domestic crude oil due to the IOCs' pricing strategy.
