IBADAN BLAST UPDATE:
- It was a miming site.
- Oyo State government refuses to acknowledge the cause of the blast.
- 15 houses cleared by the blast.
The new updates from eye witnesses on ground is that the blast which rocked Ibadan at the late hours of Tuesday, the 16th of January, 2024, was actually an inflammable chemical stored at a mining site a long time ago probably used for some controlled explosions in the past.
The Oyo State government has so far refrained from making statement that suggests the words on the streets is true.
15 houses, including small shops and kioks was flattened by the heavy blast. Ambulances and medical vehicle was seen rushing to blast site early morning Wednesday and has continued up until the time of writing this update.

UPDATE ON THE EXPLOSION IN IBADAN:
- Many are feared dead.
- Source of explosion not still confirmed,
- government house issues statement
- it could be a bomb.
Some sources are confirming that the explosion was in fact a bomb. Dotun Oyelade, the state's commissioner for information has spoken about it but made no mention of the cause of the explosion. He only assured the Makimde's administration prompt intervention and investigation of the matter, promising that the state government will look out for the interest of the citizens. You know, same old government lines.
Anyways, at exactly, 7:27 PM on Tuesday, 16th January, 2023, a powerful, deafening explosion was head across Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
