For 2 years in a row, we have the opportunity to retell the untold stories of our Sarawak’s Governor. The documentary film visits his excellency’s student days at Adelaide, Australia.

Throwback to our short film for Sarawak Day. Inspired by true events, 'I am Sarawak" tells the story of hardships faced by Sarawakians during the pandemic and how they managed to pull it through.

This time around, we had the pleasure to be working with Sarawak's very own Larissa Ping. Her beauty and friendliness brought a lot of joy to us on set. Thanks for having us.

The film was commissioned by UPPAN of the Chief Minister's Office as part of their official event. Thanks to everyone who made this project possible!

Other than “action…and cut!”, how much do you know about a film director’s role?

At pre-production stage, a film director works with the producer and casting director to do casting; discusses with the screenwriter about the script; liaises with the director of photography to develop the filming styles and many more.

During production, he visualises the screenplay and communicates with the actors to get the best performance out of them. Also, he ensures the technical team to keep the artistic setting and realise his vision.

At post-production stage, he leads the editors to produce a director's cut.

Overall, a film director is one of the spiritual roles to produce a high quality film.

“Hmm...okay, make sure you get them at the best price.”

Financial manager is only a part of a film producer. Problem-solver is the right word to describe this role as he has to ensure everything goes smoothly to achieve the end result.

With a clear blueprint in his mind, he develops the materials, works on budgeting and schedule, sources fund from investors, forms his own team of crews and casts, and most importantly progressively drives the production team. By the end, he markets the end product to the public and future investors.

A film begins and ends with the producer.

"Yay mum, I want to watch them jumping high like flying in the sky! It's my favourite part of the show"

It is always one of agenda to watch the live lion dance performance during Chinese New Year. Seeing them perform on the wooden stools, jump high to undo the ribbon and reveal the wishes from the pole, lay on the ground and peel a pomelo for good wishes.

However, it has been prohibited due to the pandemic this year. Do you miss the lion dance performance this year?
