Watch the trailer of our featured documentary, “The Steel Ship.”
Ship building and repairing industry in Sibu began in a humble scale. Started by a Chinese migrant carpenter building a wooden paddle boat in between 1935 - 1940, and it evolves until today, an important industry, which is supporting an economy of a state.
In Malaysia, there are over 80 active shipyards nationwide. Among them, approximately 48 shipyards are situated in Sibu, and most of them are family owned.
Over the past decades, Sibu has already earned a name internationally as a famous ship-producing hub due to many factors. It all began with a desire to create an opportunity, the determination to achieve better, and the determination to keep their family name alive internationally.
Our company will be submitting this featured length documentary to several film festivals, and hopefully will be able to release by end of 2023 through an undecided platform.
