DANCING WISE MEN
We recently got to visit the annual Penang State Sponsored Christmas Celebration at The TOP in Komtar Tower! We went on Sunday last weekend as it was only on for the weekend. We haven't been to The TOP in over a year, and it was much more vibrant and interesting than the last time we were there. We were mostly interested in seeing the different Christmas performances and we'll share a little of a few of them, and the full performance of our favourite one.

A Teacher Conference Leads to Dodging Traffic and Breathing Smog! Our Jakarta Getaway (Episode 15)
I recently accompanied my wife, Pam, on a work trip to Jakarta, Indonesia. While she was occupied at a teacher's conference, I explored the chaotic capital city on foot. I'll give you my first impressions of Jakarta - like how over 75% of vehicles on the road are motorbikes, the terrible air pollution, and the surprising embrace of Christmas decor in this mostly Muslim country.

After discussing my walks seeing sights like the National Monument, I'll recount my long journey home with a layover in Kuala Lumpur. I'll share my experience flying with Malaysia Airlines, including the entertaining safety demonstration video they showed. Join me as I take you along to discover what it's like visiting a massive, congested Asian megacity like Jakarta. Unfortunately, we will not have a new episode of our Made to Travel podcast this Week. I know, I know...I hate to disappoint you all, but sometimes real life just gets in the way.
This week has been busier than expected, and I simply haven't had the time or energy to put together a video that’s worthy of your time.
But don't worry, we will be back next Thursday! I'm excited to take you all snorkeling with us out at Mengalum Island, where we can spy on clown fish and maybe even spot a sea turtle if we're lucky!

Back to School 2023-24. The first week is done!
This is my second year teaching Gr. 5 math, science and Bible at Dalat International School. I serve with an amazing multicultural team helping to provide education from a biblical perspective to more than 700 students in preK-12. Dalat students not only receive world class training at our beautiful campus---which happens to be located right on the beach---but they are also learning to know God and how they can impact the world. It's not just a job, it's a calling!

Ran into some friends at the airport who are on the same flight as us... Discovered that we will actually be landing in Vanvouver Sunday night, not Monday night as we had mistakenly thought.
We leave Hong Kong just after midnight on Monday morning and arrive in Vanvouver a little before 10pm Sunday night!
Time travel sure is confusing!
